Meadowcrest immediately felt right. The building needs some updates, but the real gem is the staff. The therapy staff is outstanding! They go above and beyond for their patients. And the nursing staff knows their patients better than any facility I have seen. There are lots of activities for residents with a very cheerful activities staff. And the administration was always happy to talk about issues. We were certainly satisfied with the care my mother got while she was there!

The facility is clean and doesn't smell, other than an occasional and brief "shit" smell which is unavoidable. The beds are nice with small assistance rails on the sides with buttons to raise and lower the head and feet. The Staff is mostly very nice. We had a Care Meeting 2 days after her arrival and I was able to meet everyone. The Physical Therapists I have met (Patty and Chris) are good and I feel mom is making fairly good progress. Having a friendly staff that do not talk "down" to mom is extremely important and the primary reason for the 4 stars. The biggest downside so far is the food. There is a lot of starch and not much vegetables or protein. Yesterday for lunch she had about a 2 ounce "pork loin" with "BBQ sauce" that looked like ketchup. Buttered noodles, green peas, white bread and margarine, with mandarin orange slices for dessert. I consider peas to be a starch, not a vegetable. She had peas and potatoes the day before with about a 4 ounce chicken breast. This should not meet the standards for a nutritious meal. Leafy greens and cruciferous veggies are so important to good health! In the evenings, they wheel around a snack cart with cages of chips/Cheetos/Doritos. Just what people need-junk food! If folks want junk, let their kids bring it to them. Don't serve it! Another downside is the rooms are so small, there is not enough room to have a comfortable chair to sit in, so mom sits in a wheelchair all day. There is only one dresser for 2 beds so each person gets 2 small drawers. Not enough for a week's worth of clothes and laundry is only done once per week. Lastly, the long-term care rooms are identical to the skilled nursing so you can't bring in something from home to make it a little more cozy. Also the common areas-dining room and lounges are pretty plain, not very nicely decorated. Why 4 stars after these complaints? Because I strongly believe the friendliness and attitude of the staff are way more important. Second would be food quality.

The therapist were fun, kind and helpful. But now we come to the dietery department. The food served was actually disgusting. Do you not have a qualified person to head this department Who knows how to prepare food? Food was barely cooked and cold. Coffee was always cold. One morning all I wanted was yogurt and a banana and coffee. True fact banana was frozen. So was my roommates. I am not a picky eater, but the food served was beyond edible. I became nauseated from not eating. Came home like that. It truly is sad that the food is so bad when everyone there is so great.

Like wow fresh construction or something. We accidentally went in the front building but the person working up front there quickly and kindly redirected us to the back building of the location. We went in and the person working the front desk was very nice. At first glance it looks really nice and luxurious. The dining area is so well done and our little one had to go potty before we went up and the bathrooms were clean, modern, and very nice as well. All staff we passed said hello and was very friendly. From what I was told and what I saw while there our family member is being well taken care of here. I would from what I've seen recommend them. Now they do have some violations received in the past and fines paid which you can find linked from their Yelp listing and follow that to medicare site that shows everything fines and violations. So that is information that I think is worth having to be able to really see everything and know what has been found. Still from all that I have seen I would recommend them for your loved one or yourself!

Everyone was really nice and I have to say that whenever I rang the bell for assistance, within 5 minutes someone came. The facility is very nice and the gardens provide a relaxing space. If I ever had to go into a rehab facility, I would definitely go there.
