It rises at Bedford, NY in Westchester, NY. Altogether, the park in both is a bit more than 220 acres total The trail is accessible from parking lots in Greenwich and Stamford that allow access to the park, but check to see if PARKING PERMITS ARE REQUIRED. Dogs should be kept on lead and under control, not just because it's the right thing, but also because there is wildlife in the park, Eagles nest in the areas and Black Bears are known to nest there. There is a Mianus Web site as also from Stamford and Greenwich. IN the 90s, a fishway was built to allow migratory fish to enter the river as they had previously. It's just a beautiful place that I once shared with a neighbor occasionally as we walked our dogs in the park, a rare time witha great person in early sages of cancer until she had to give it up.

Often used by recreational fishermen, it is a short, mostly straight trail that runs along the Titicus River for about a sixth of a mile and ends at a low stone wall. The North Salem Fish and Game Association stock the river with trout. Steward: Josh Leicht Trail Notes The trail is level, the ground is soft, and there is ample shade from many trees, making for an easy walk. During a walk, the sounds of the river are always audible. Along the path are barberry, ferns and occasionally skunk cabbage, depending on the season you visit. Lances is a trail that one would walk to get a feel for the nature in North Salem without going too far from "civilization". Aht aht more uphill to the lookout. The lookout was great - the older I get though the more timid I am about heights. I peeked over the cliffs and promptly scooted my booty back up on the rocks. Down wasn't that great either but the jagoff woman who had to make her SHOCK and SURPRISE known about my group of plus size baddies hiking the same trail as her put a revenge pep in my step. This is a one and done for me. I like a challenge but I prefer scrambling with my uphill and this didn't have it. People say 40 minutes to the top. These people lie.
