When I asked what equipment they would be installing, they sent me a part number. After doing a quick search, I found that the exact device costs about $183-$200 retail. The electrician arrived at 7:33 AM and left at 7:52 AM (verified on my cameras). Despite the installation taking less than 30 minutes, I was still invoiced for the full $496. When I questioned the timeframe and cost, the response I received was simply that I had been quoted that amount. To me, this reflects very poor business ethics. A company should stand behind fair pricing and transparent practices--not charge customers nearly three times the cost of the part for less than half an hour of work, with no willingness to explain the discrepancy. I would not recommend this company, as their practices clearly do not put the customer's interests first.

Cardinal has been the BEST company I've experienced so far at my house. The person with whom I spoke understood how dangerous of a situation this was and a service person was scheduled that day. 2nd call was for electrical work--not urgent but they happened to be able to squeeze me in on the same day which was probably rare but amazing! Best parts of this experience: 1. Friendly and empathic front team who got me scheduled ASAP. 2. Text prior to the service person's arrival with their pic and some info to help personalize this 'stranger' 3. The service people themselves--extremely competent, focused, and very personable.
