His design was way better than what we'd been thinking, it looks so good. He was always easy to get ahold of, was really patient with the various changes we kept making, and made sure that every detail was taken care of so that we were totally happy with the end result. I also really appreciated how he always suggested cost effective options to help us stick to our budget. And to top it all off, at the end they realized we'd overpaid by $1000 and sent us a check we hadn't even asked for or realized we were due! He was the only one who detailed every item involved in the bid, including update of irrigation. I've had issues in the past with bids for other projects that I assumed included the little details but didn't and then I had to pay extra. Michael's bid included every detail in writing that you would assume would be a part of a new lawn job and it was very reasonable. He also showed up on time for the initial appointment! His crew was great! Their work was very detailed and clean. The job was done within three days and all of the work area, including the driveway, was cleaned up. They even noted my falling-apart fence gate so Michael gave me a very reasonable quote and they did a great job fixing it for me. There were a lot of details for after-care and I've texted Michael multiple times to confirm. He texts back quickly and I never get the impression he's annoyed (I've sent a lot of texts!). I almost wish I had more yard renovations so that I could hire him again! I did discuss a whole-yard mulch job and will absolutely hire Michael when I'm ready for that. No more getting multiple bids for future yard renovations. I'll just call Michael.

No one else who came to give a bid gave a good solution or just didn't know how to do that. So the combination of a good bid and confidence in his knowledge of landscaping made this an easy choice. Brooks and Jenny at Brookside have such a creative and and beautiful aesthetic that we never could have imagined on our own. Their attention to detail is amazing, and their design concept was truly everything we wanted. Even though we have a small yard, they were able to make it look so much larger by moving things around and creating a better flow. It seriously looks like we added square footage. All of the plants that they chose for our yard are so beautiful and unique. Everyone that comes by wants to know what each plant is called because they aren't the very common yard plants that everyone has...they are so interesting! They chose the foliage specifically for what they knew would grow well in our area and with the sunlight for each side of the house. Thoughtfulness went into every aspect of each item they added...from the plants, to the wood and stone for the built in bbq, the special market lights (that are really unique and fun), all the way to the treated concrete. Everything looks like a step above! The work process was easy, and the crews that showed up every day were gracious, kind, friendly and hard working. Over the weeks we got to know the workers, and it was a sad day when it finished and we knew they would not be showing up again every morning. Even our 5 year old knew their names and would announce to us each day who had shown up in the morning. Jenny and Brooks were also very friendly and kind, and were a joy to work with.
