While the MAC hosts a wide range of cultural programming year-round, what has drawn us back time and again, now three times, are their exceptional, large-scale art exhibitions, presented every two years. The most recent of these is the 2025 exhibition Hokusai and Ukiyo-e: The Floating World (on view from May 31 to September 21). This immersive experience transports visitors to the lively and refined world of 17th-century Edo-period Japan. The exhibit vividly captures a time when Edo (present-day Tokyo) thrived as the cultural and economic heart of the nation, defined by its devotion to the arts, nature, and the pleasures of daily life. A highlight of the exhibition is the U.S. debut of the Museum Galleries - Chiossone Collection, featuring a remarkable 70-piece selection of ukiyo-e masterpieces. Among these are 53 original paintings and woodblock prints by renowned artists such as Hokusai and Hiroshige, alongside 17 beautifully crafted objects. Together, they offer a captivating window into Japan's "floating world." The MAC consistently excels in delivering these world-class exhibitions. Last, but not the least, there is a very nice gift shop there. We bought some cute Japanese noodles and rice bowls with the "floating world" art theme from the gift shop. Was finally able to find it by searching McAninch Arts Center (MAC). The exhibit is cool, loved the eki (train station) stamps for the passport you're given. I wasn't expecting much and it lived up to expectations. After experiencing it do I think it was worth the $27/per person admission? Not for me. But it's still cool and definitely worth a visit if you're an art enthusiast.

Free valet and coat check (well, someone pays for it I'm sure, but as a I was a guest it sure wasn't me). Nice bar area with a roaring fireplace. Okay wine and whiskey selection, nothing over the top but definitely good selections available. The dinner was served by candlelight, which was actually pretty swank. Food was good. Dinner wine was great. Costumed carolers were interesting. Overall a positive experience. Holiday without tackiness. Kinda nice.

The grounds were beautiful and it was the most perfect weather! Being from Wheaton, I had no idea this gem was right around the corner! Shower went great and the staff was attentive. Only complaint was it seemed by the time the middle crowd got up to get brunch, pickings were slim and food had been picked through or cleared out! By the time they had replaced the empty bins, the "shower" portion was beginning and I think guests felt like they shouldn't go up and get seconds or in some case firsts! The grounds were absolutely beautiful and the mimosas were top notch!

Last year, they had a row of swings suspended from the trees near the parking lot. It was always a highlight of our visits. In 2026 there is only one swing and it's near the tanks, so there is a wait to use the swing. Cantigny is a bargain because they charge admission by carload instead of individually. Admission is only $6.00 on weekdays, and Wednesday is free if you register in advance.

This is a 2 day event selling over 150 different types of native flowers,grasses,shrubs and trees. There were many volunteers around to ask questions and get recommendations. Plants are not restocked daily so best is to go early on the first day. It gets crowded and with so many people pulling wagons and carts,patience is required! They do have a few trays to use but best is to bring your own boxes. Cash,check or credit cards are accepted but I wish the checkout area was in a different location than where the plants were being sold as the lines for checkout were very long. Proceeds benefit the Dupage Forest Preserve.

There are two screens that rotate movies. The seats don't recline with a foot rest, but they are so much better since the remodel. Much more spacious and comfortable. The main theatre also has a stage which expands opportunity at this venue for live performances. Such a great locally owned well-run business.

As I said before, the theater is a little on the smaller side and people in the front row tend to find themselves actually walking on the stage as they enter & exit which almost seems rather discourteous since they have lines painted on the floor. I just think that that's bad luck even though it's concrete and it's painted, I tried to make sure that I was definitely off the designated stage area because I think thats asking for bad karma. Both times we enjoyed the Circus courtesy of the Vettix organization and Circus Vasquez who donated the tickets! A great show even better when they supported Veterans and their families! The acts are first class and great family fun! There are no animals but there are a wide variety of acts from all over the world ! We will likely see them when they come to St Louis!
