Didn't inform me about advance of inspection charges then pitched a fit when I simply suggested that they tell the customer beforehand. Owner must be under financial pressure and loosing money to lose a long term customer who received a mailing from him to be concerned about $20. I could have cared less about $20 , I just suggested that I would be informed in advance. read more

Today I brought in my car for tire rotation and oil change but I also knew there was a problem with the brakes. I left my car at Westside and was given a ride home. They stayed in touch with me during the repairs so that I could verify anything that needed to be done. I knew that it would be a bit expensive and was not given any surprises when I returned. I've always found that Westside Tires and its personnel are very professional in their attitudes and in their service. I've only been coming to Westside for about the last year and a half, but I can't imagine going anywhere else. They've done multiple oil changes for me, put on new tires, and replaced my brakes. All the guys there are so friendly, prompt, and transparent. They've answered all my questions thoroughly and respectfully and I always feel very well taken care of. I have went here for years, but no more. When the owner does not resolve an issue with a part installation they performed but instead stands behind his employee and says nothing was done wrong well that's the last straw. I won't deal with business owners who think they can't do nothing wrong. It cost me $600 to go elsewhere to get the repair performed correctly. That's okay there are other good mechanics out there and businesses that want customers long term. I do not recommend this business. They used to be awesome but things do change. I suppose for a tire they are ok. But I would not trust them with any major mechanical work. read more

I have gone here ever since I got my first car about 6 years ago cause my family had always gone here and now I know why I have never had to go back to have something looked at again, never had bad service and no ridiculous charges to have something simply looked at! I am greeted by name when I come in and treated like a person not someone to make money off of! When I had car problems in college when I had a tight budget these guys really helped me out even looking at my car twice in one day when nothing was wrong for free! Minus 17 degrees and my tire pressure warning light came on. Air pumps at gas stations were frozen and actually let air out. I drove in at Westside, they filled all four tires for me right away, without an appointment or a fee, with a smile and friendly wave. Very nice people, a great example of local service. Going to bring my Goodyear tires here if they ever need service and definitely when time to replace. Sorry that Downtown Tire is gone, but this is a fine alternative. read more

West Side Tire gets one star because they do have great customer service and they get you in and out of the shop quickly. If that is all you need out of your automotive technician, then this shop is for you. If you require more, like the job getting done right, stay far away. I took my GMC 3500 box truck to them for a leaking exhaust manifold. They changed both sides and called me after a couple days to tell me the job was done and the charge was $1,300. They also replaced the spark plugs and wires. I took it back after a few days complaining that I could still hear an exhaust leak. It was then that they told me my cylinder head was warped. Two days after I left, my engine shot a spark out of the cylinder head. Then a week or so after that, another one shot out. Luckily I had a neighbor that is ASE certified, so we ordered a new cylinder head and tore the truck apart. Looking at the replaced exhaust manifold, it was missing a bolt! Then, after taking off the brand new manifold, they had cracked the bolt hole by torqueing it too much! Another $1,500 later, the exhaust on the driver's side was fixed, so after putting everything back together and firing up the engine, we quickly discovered the brand new passenger exhaust manifold also had a small leak! To recap, on the driver's side, they broke off the old exhaust manifold bolt into the cylinder head, and just left the bolt missing. Then, I believe they stripped the holes on the spark plugs by not gently removing the old plugs. This ruined the cylinder head that they said was warped, but I don't think it ever was, I think that is what they told me instead of admitting their mistakes. On the passenger side, they replaced the old manifold only to incorrectly install the new one, so it still leaks. When I went to talk to them about it, they took no responsibility and kept telling me they had been honest the entire time. How is that possible, when the only thing they told me when I initially picked up the truck was that I was good to go? If you need and oil change or new tires, maybe this place would work, but if you need anything more complicated than that, I strongly suggest finding another place of business. Look in the shop when you are there, it's a bunch of kids doing all the work, while the experienced guys are at the front counter and don't do any work. read more

I've been going to Westside Tire for years. They take care of all 4 of my cars, 2 of them are over 10 years old and work great. They have great service and I trust these guys. I've not had to take my car back because something wasn't right. They are thorough and many times have the car ready ahead of schedule. read more

Be advised, The coupon for Brake Service listed here: only includes 1 axle which isn't listed. Also according to the invoice it excludes Ceramic pads. Also charging 79.95 for non ceramic pads when online you can get them OEM Ceramic for 38.99. I called to give them my CC over the phone cause they were closing. Quoted me 254.56 to get rear pads and rotors done. (thats it) Paid,then called to ask what they were charging for labor. They explained that the 129.95 coupon was for the brake service plus the cost of the rotors which were 48.98. So I asked how much they were charging me for pads and couldn't understand what I was asking, (aka they didn't want to tell me how much they were making off labor) So looking at attached invoice,you can see they are either lying our of their asses on the labor cost (50.00) or they are really making 200% on their ceramic (non ceramic) brake pads. Checking the mileage they never did a drive test. They did not resurface rotors (bought new ones)Then I tell them my emergency brake isn't working as i'm rolling backwards in the parking lot with it engaged. They tell me to bring it back tomorrow as they are standing inside... So after forcing them to take my key, I'm out 254.56, probably my old parts, and an emergency brake they will probably try to charge me for. They better make this right or posts like this will be going all over the internet and to the management team. read more
