Do. Not. Move. Here. I've never experienced anything like this, it was all so bizarre and gross living here. Since my last review, they've gone through 3 management companies. So...things haven't improved to say the least. I moved out in October and it took me sending over 10 emails over months to try to get my security back and I finally got it back this week - 106 days after moving out when by law, landlords must return deposits in 21 calendar days. At one point, they sent an email out reminding people to lock their cars, not telling them the reason they sent it was because a person was allowed into our garage to bash some windows out on cars. No transparency. The grossest thing they did, during the LA Wildfires they pretended to offer a special deal of $1000 off and short term leases. I got $1000 off when i moved in - it's the standard deal. And they always have had short term leases. Manipulating and predatory behavior. They sent us non-stop texts capitalizing on the fires encouraging us to tell our displaced friends - yuck. I tried many times to have the mechanical issues fixed that had been going on since I moved in, my washing machine had not worked for two years. My icemaker had not worked for two years. A repair person came and tried to fix them and he showed up without me being alerted at 8 AM on a Saturday one time. Thankfully, I'm a morning person and I was awake, but he was shocked that no one told me, I said to him yeah the management is terrible here and he said that's what everyone tells me!!! lolz Also, they were unable to fix the washing machine. Unhomed people are throwing their feces into the pit next door, in case you are one of the many people facing the South like I was, you'll have a view of this eyesore. Our trash service (which costs $35 a month) was not picked up for months so some of my neighbors left their trash in the hall in protest. Then when I asked if I should remove the $35 fee they told me it's NOT for trash pickup from our doors...just the service fee for trash, lol. This place is so scandalous and shady, I swear. They are so icky. This building was built so badly and cheaply, everything breaks nonstop, especially the elevators. The floors & ceilings leak all the time as evidenced by many reviews & photos. The electricity wasn't working from all the outlets in my unit and they could never figure that out, nor the icemaker, nor the washing machine. The worst part is management just ignores you. They do not care about residents here and it's all about that cash money. This building is gross and I advise you to NOT MOVE HERE. :) Check out the Pearl if you want to live nearby, WAY BETTER. But the summary is - the building is badly built with so many mechanical & structural issues that even if they wanted to attempt to keep up with the problems, they just can't. However, they don't keep up with issues and things just get worse & worse, while they ignore their tenants cries. This was supposed to be Luxury Living in Koreatown and it surely is not.

Most of all, they gave us a "90 day notice" (it was actually 1 month before they wanted us out) of the end of our lease which stated our rent was going up $400. Then, when we stated we weren't renewing they charged us a prorated rent for the month (nearly $500) because we didn't notify them a month in advance. HOW are we supposed to do that when you notified us a month before the end of our lease??? Don't live here. Dirty, ghetto, and management never cares about the tenants.

Good luck getting back your security deposit…read more Blackstone management failed to return my security deposit within California's legal timeframe of 21 days. After two months, I sent a formal demand letter. Management ignored it for nine days then claimed they had already mailed it. Another week passed with no response or refund. When I again threatened a lawsuit, the money was sent electronically--something they apparently knew how to do all along. They attempted to rewrite the record by calling the payment a "courtesy" to replace the check they'd supposedly sent; however, they charged themselves a "Late SD Return" fee to cancel out my utility charges and cleaning fee. I doubt a property management company would refund a legitimate charge if they had followed the law. Blackstone is owned by the same company as HWH Luxury Living, whose manager failed to respond to my requests to return the "refundable" deposit I put down on a different apartment. When I realized Blackstone was the same company and I expressed concern, I was assured the management was different and I would not have trouble getting my security deposit. Also, upon move-out, I was told my apartment was "clean and returned as is" and I would get my security deposit back "in full," yet they still attempted to charge a $150 cleaning fee, and did not refund anything until I threatened legal action. Living at the Blackstone was not ideal. Although I liked my actual unit, the interior walls are very thin. I bought a professional grade sound blanket to muffle the noise from my neighbor. Dogs are routinely off leash and urinate/defecate in common areas, including the elevator. The outside entrance is covered with astroturf that neighborhood dogs use as a giant pee/poop pad and some residents even treat it like their own personal yard for their little dogs. They open the lobby door and stand in the entryway while waiting for their dog to relieve themselves on the fake grass, especially at night. Even after many residents complained, including the building Super, Management just replaced the pee soaked astroturf instead of fixing the broken concrete underneath. When the garage gate was broken, street people were coming in and out of the building for a couple of weeks with no extra security measures taken by management. Also, if you're considering an interior apartment to avoid street noise, residents on the ground floor of the courtyard use it as an extension of their apartments, also for their dogs, so it can get noisy as well. Contrary to what I was told, other residents cannot access the courtyard because the doors are always locked. Finally, in my 12 months as a resident, there was only 1 week when both elevators were working simultaneously, so if it's dirty or unusable, your options are to deal with the smell or take the stairs. Sometimes they were both down. They are always "waiting for a part." My experience was disappointing. There are better apartments in Los Angeles for the money.

Management entered our apartment the following morning because it was an emergency, which we understood. During that visit, they saw towels on our bathroom floor that we use after showering and told us this was evidence that our bathtub had overflowed. We explained that our apartment had not flooded and that the towels were simply from normal use after showering. We were then told workers would return after 3:00 p.m. that same day to perform repairs in our unit. We moved everything out of the area they needed to access, including where I keep my work-from-home computer, so they could begin repairs. No one showed up. Because management had entered around 7:00 a.m. that morning, I woke up early on Friday after only about four hours of sleep to make sure I wouldn't miss anyone if they came back. We stayed home, kept the area clear, and waited. Again, no one arrived. On Saturday, we received a notice stating that we had refused entry on Friday and prevented repairs from being completed. This was shocking because we had been home waiting the entire time. When I asked the manager's wife about it, she told me the manager had personally come to our door on Friday. Later, when I spoke directly with the manager, he told me that he had **not** come to our apartment that day and that he didn't know who had supposedly come. Being given completely different explanations by management was extremely frustrating. The notice also warned that if we didn't allow workers in on Monday, we could get into trouble. Once again, we made ourselves available and kept everything ready. No one came on Monday. The same thing happened again on Tuesday. By Wednesday, almost a week after everything started, I went back to ask whether anyone was actually coming to complete the repairs. The manager's wife refused to answer my questions and told me to contact the landlord directly. I explained that I had already been trying to reach him for three days through phone calls and text messages without any response. She became upset and asked why I hadn't told her sooner. I also explained that I had been sleeping only about four hours a night because I was waking up early every morning to make sure I wouldn't miss the workers. Her response was that it was my fault and my decision to do that. On Monday, while we were speaking with the manager's wife, the manager joined the conversation partway through. My mom only speaks Spanish, so I began translating for her. As soon as we started speaking Spanish, he said he was leaving because we were speaking Spanish and walked away before hearing the rest of what we had to say. We were left to continue speaking only with the manager's wife. After calling the landlord several times in a row, I was finally able to speak with him. He listened to what happened but ultimately told us the entire situation was our fault. Throughout this process, we have done everything we were asked to do. We moved our belongings for repairs, stayed home waiting for workers, made ourselves available, and repeatedly tried to communicate with both management and the landlord. Despite all of that, we were blamed for flooding that we maintain did not come from our apartment, accused of denying entry when we were waiting at home, and never received an apology for the repeated no-shows or the conflicting information we were given. There are also ongoing concerns with the building itself. In my experience, the elevator frequently shakes, has unexpectedly stopped working, and feels unstable. Residents often have to balance where they stand because otherwise the elevator can shift enough to bump or scrape against the shaft walls, which is frightening. To the best of my knowledge, I have not seen a current inspection certificate posted for several years. My frustration isn't because emergencies happen. I understand that unexpected maintenance issues occur. My frustration comes from the way we were treated afterward. Clear communication, honesty, and respect would have made this situation much easier. Instead, we were left waiting day after day, blamed for things we didn't do, and treated as though we were the problem despite doing everything we could to cooperate. I sincerely hope management improves its communication with tenants, follows through on scheduled repairs, and treats residents with the respect they deserve.

I have a lot of peace in this building. It's a place where you can chill . You don't have to whisper like a church mouse as long as you're respectful to the neighbors you can keep noise to a happy medium level. The neighbors are overall polite. The management is fairly prompt and I would say very helpful. Also being that I have chronic illness sometimes I've been late with my rent and they've worked with me, you're dealing with good people. Sept 2025 a fire on the 11 floor each floor got water damage down to the sixth fl. Still not fixed it April 2026! All floors are dirty except the 3rd level, management has ONE lady trying her best to clean, it's too much for one person, she had help before he is now gone & they didn't replace him. When everyone complains is when they bring outside help to clean up. Washer & dryer never working or takes your money, no hot water on some of the machine, yet you are charged extra for hot water. Not kidding. All I can say is there are better places to live, don't move here. Homeless get in all the time, pulling fire alarms, roaming the floors. Never had an issue with cockroaches, they let a lot of low income into the building & it's over run now with roaches. You see rats in the parking lot. This building is the worst, you complain to the manager now & past, the manager tells you no one else is complaining. Yet a lot of us have lived here a long time & we speak to each other, getting the same feed back, "oh they told me no one is complaining" Some bat shit crazy way to handle your tenants by gaslighting them. Don't count on getting anything fixed fast around here, they got a guy at the top who is blocking it all, he has too much power. Wonder if his wife knows he is seeing women on property? Oh yeah & one of the food places downstairs put me into the hospital for a week due to a rat being cooked in there taco meat. Don't eat any taco's facing Broadway. Yes I reported it to Health Dept. Security is questionable, not all the guys, the black guys are gone, who were amazing at their jobs and nothing but Spanish ppl on property now, it's hard to call them in the middle of the night if there is an issue & can't communicate with them. Some of the Spanish security is great, on top of the bums. For years one guy wouldn't give me a key to the handicap lift. He actual said to me we can't have ppl playing on them, I'm 60+yrs old. Meanwhile he uses it to bring in all this supplies for his home of 5 ppl. I'm on a waiting list for two knee replacements. The list goes on and on believe the ppl who have posted about this place! Don't move here, save yourself the headache. Beware of Rats of all kinds here.

My brother lived next door to a guy who played music all day long with a subwoofer / base that made the apartment vibrate. Management was no help and I witnessed them try to make my brother feel like he was the issue as he was the only one complaining. We watched the guy pick fights with crazy, yelling homeless men on the street from the apartment window the final time I visited. What a disappointment it ended up being! My brother survived a year Nextdoor to the most unhinged man I have ever met and had absolutely no support from the building management team. Word of advice to management - don't tell your tenants to "call the police" to deal with a crazy neighbor - how about you show up to your office on time and be a decent human being with some humanity and respect for tenants who are working two jobs to afford your apartment complex. I'd say thanks, but I wouldn't mean it.

We were an hour early so we strolled around the gorgeous property. The grandchildren saw the eggs and we were told that we had time for them to hunt before Tea. Such excitement! Well we were all thirsty and hungry. We had beautiful table right by the harp player. It was magical until I asked Pamela (our server) if any of the sandwiches contained garlic. We forgot to tell mention that when we made our reservations. Pamela said that the vegetarian menu might work for me. The grandsons were restless. My husband was about to pass out. Pamela said she'd bring me a special order and If i didn't like her choices she'd keep trying. Everyone was served. Tea flowed. Non alcoholic champagne soothed us. Then .....Ta Da...the food was presented! I had a tier "special for me." I tenderly tried a beautiful beet triangle. It was amazing. In fact, every mouthful was amazing. Pamela brought me 4 more savory delights. As we packed up to leave. Pamela gave everyone pink flower pens and a large Pink Box full of treats to take home. I was treated like royalty by Pamela. Next time we will ask for her.

From the initial tour to actually living here, everything has been handled professionally and with a genuine focus on residents. The tour was a great first impression. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all of my questions without making me feel rushed or pressured. That experience definitely played a big part in my decision to move in. Since moving in, the maintenance team has also been excellent. Whenever I've needed something, they've been responsive, professional, and quick to take care of it. It's reassuring to know that requests are taken seriously and followed through. I also want to give special recognition to Omar. He has been outstanding and is one of the reasons the overall experience has been so positive. He is approachable, professional, and genuinely seems to care about making sure residents are happy and taken care of. His management and attention to detail really stand out. After two months here, I'm very happy with my decision to move to The Langham. Between the beautiful property, great maintenance team, welcoming staff, and especially the excellent management, it's been a wonderful place to call home. Vincent and other maintenance is absolutely wonderful and it's the only time I've ever trusted anyone to go into my apartment without me being home. I've lived at so many high-rises and never felt safe letting any of the staff in my place unattended, I even feel that way at my new place! I never felt this at the Brockman and anyone who came into my unit did everything properly and with care. But the biggest thank you to Mike who really makes a resident feel welcomed from the beginning to the end and always took any of my needs or concerns so serious and handled things in such a professional manner. Brockman was the best experience I ever had as a renter in Los Angeles and if I could pick this building up and put it down in a better area, I would stay forever!

Our apartment is clean and pleasant with great views of the city, and really well-located in terms of grocery stores, pharmacies, coffee shops, etc., as well as public transit, which I rely on primarily. The Met is an older building, so we've definitely had a few maintenance issues during our time here, but our work orders have always been responded to immediately and taken seriously and the issues we've encountered were always dealt with promptly by friendly and professional staff! If you're looking for a well-priced place downtown, I would highly recommend checking it out.

I was suspicious at first, especially because…read moreliterally every other apartment I visited during my frantic search of the area was crappy, overpriced, and/or managed by crazy people, not to mention awash in terrible Yelp reviews, so I thought surely this place was too good to be true. But it really is that great. Of course, I'm not saying this building is perfect. Like other buildings, problems do arise here an there, and you encounter the same issues as you would in any communal living setting. But unlike other places, the management actually deal with the problems as they arise, within reason, and they don't try to pull the wool over your eyes. In addition, the sense of community here is great. Liz and everyone else that work here are so friendly, I genuinely love going to check the mail or pick up a package, because we usually chat for a few minutes. They truly care about the building residents! I think this situation is really rare in a big city. The cherry on top of it all is when I signed the agreement and was lead to my apartment, I had mentioned that I was new to the city and did not know anyone. That's when Liz encouraged me to join her and some of our neighbors for a hike. I took her up on her offer and drove to Runyon Canyon Park (which is only minutes away). The hours flew by as I got to know some of my neighbors/co-adventurers. The other day a friend who used to live in LA but currently does not was passing through town, and I offered him a place to stay--I love having friends over because for the first time in years I have a place that's big enough to have guests. When I told him the address, he revealed that he had actually lived in this building when he first moved to LA! When I asked him how it compared to the other places he'd lived around town, he said this was actually his favorite, in part because it was the biggest studio apartment he ever had. So there you have it! You really can't go wrong with this place. I plan to stay at The Lofts on La Brea for the foreseeable future.

I keep trying to call her, email her, ask for updates but there has been no response. I tried to call her she does not answer. Mind you- my application fee is paid and I am trying to work with her on that. I asked her for information about the management and she said she does not have anything. As a tenant for me to get my apartment situated before my current lease ends is really important and the whole process with Liz has been a lot of anxiety. Please have somebody that is really willing to help the residents
