A DEMOLISHING COMPANY WITH A HEART!…read more I can't say enough good things about Affordable Environmental, the owner Tony Chase, and his work crew. I've been trying off and on to leave a review and finally figured it out. In Spring 2023, Tony was hired to demolish a condemned 1930's farm house on my property that needed to come down. Everything was done on time, responsibly, and by the book, with asbestos abatement included. All for a very competitive price. And then the big twist happened, which really confirmed Tony's stellar reputation: After being told by the asbestos workers that there may be an old log cabin underneath the farm house, Tony took his time and "skinned" the side off, rather than just demolishing everything. He was able to do so because he is very skilled with a track hoe; it was like watching an artist at work! And sure enough, underneath was a solid log cabin structure that our local historical society estimates to be an old logging cabin from circa 1870's. Intact cabins like this are very hard to find and a historic preservationist is currently conducting research to confirm the age and ownership. But Affordable Environmental, aka Tony Chase, didn't stop there. Tony felt very strongly about keeping this historic find safe during the winter so it wouldn't deteriorate. He volunteered the materials and staff time to construct a roof structure, wrap the building in plastic, and install one of his own large dehumidifiers to keep it dry inside. And it's working! It was also the only company to communicate the 10 day waiting period until they obtained an L&I permit to abate or mention the need to get a permit. Dealing with asbestos you can't be too careful. The team arrived early on the scheduled day, secured the area and removed every last tile in about 1/2 a day. They did a great job at a competitive price. Make sure you check L&I for violations because some of the other companies I considered had major documented health violations related to asbestos removal. This company did not.

This was hands down the worst business experience we have ever had in the Washington area. The employees lacked basic business etiquette, and the Project Manager and Finance Manager were incredibly rude to both me and my wife. Key Issues: Mis-diagnosed the issue big time even after we repeated telling them the root cause and area of the problem. We feel they intentionally did that to increase the scope of the work. They tore down upstairs bathroom completely without even properly checking the root cause. There were no issues with the upstairs bathroom. They did not tear down the actual place where it was leaking, this was unbelievable to us. Drove us completely nuts. Abandonment: They left the job halfway through and never bothered to check back with us, failing to complete the work they promised. Hostile Behavior: Instead of resolving the incomplete work, they threatened us and sent a lien letter to our house. This aggressive approach is unacceptable. Project Manager yelling and screaming on the calls with all filthy, profanity and inappropriate words. Staff Turnover: They fired more than three employees who had been dealing with us very nicely, which further disrupted the project. Subcontractor Issues: Even the subcontractors they hired seemed unhappy and difficult to work with. Advice: Do not trust these guys with any big jobs. If you value your peace of mind and want a project actually finished, look elsewhere. I have the pictures and videos of our project to prove their Incompetency and also the threatening letter they sent us Hope you guys understand. I was all ready to file a case BBB. I will soon post the photos of the sloppy job they did.
