We moved to FL a few months ago and didn't know where to take our dog for grooming. After reading decent reviews on Yelp I decided to give them a try. This was our first visit here. I called a day before and Andrew was kind enough to accommodate a grooming the next t day. I drove an hour to get to the shop and explained what we wanted especially for her face. I wanted a teddy bear cut look which is a more rounder cute shape leaving more hair around the face but maybe they don't know what that is? You would think they'd know being a grooming shop for so long. Even though our dog had a little matting under her throat area it wasn't for them to shave it all the way up and the sides of her face. I was left very disappointed and can't wait for her hair to grow out. I also noticed her skin very red on neck area. I appreciate that Andrew was nice and got down to our dogs level making her feel somewhat comfortable because she does get nervous I just wished he would had listened to my request and followed through. I don't even know who really cut our dogs hair because he said there are lady groomers in the back. Pics show when I got her groomed back in March of this year (look/shape on the face I wanted) compared to the narrow looking shape they gave her so sad. This shop is under new ownership, the British ladies are gone. I brought my cats in to be groomed, I hadn't been here since I moved out to Ellenton turns out there is a new groomer. Previously the groomer would have me hold the animals and they would be done in about 45 minutes. Super easy I don't want anything fancy just to shave the hair off. This groomer doesn't allow owners in the back, seems odd like they may be hiding something. I had breakfast and wandered around DT for 2 1-2 hours went back to the store as it was talking way too long, they still weren't ready. I did notice there was another cat waiting to be picked up, I was told I was the appt that morning so I think they took that cat ahead of or possibly it was done between my cats. Irritating since they knew I was waiting. I didn't check the cats when I picked them up, they were brought out in the carriers, got home and the groomer didn't groom their legs and didn't trim the hair in the foot pads. I've had my cats groomed since they were kittens, 13 years, I have never had a groomer skip the legs and food pads. Makes zero sense. My fault I should have looked when I picked them up but expected the same quality cut I had gotten there previously. I know this shop has undergone an ownership change and I have to say I am not impressed, the previous groomer was way better and the guy working in the shop gave me the creeps. I miss the old English ladies and their shop helper. If anyone knows the name of the old groomer please let me know. read more

I have searched for a year trying to find a groomer in the area for my new-to-me, 8 year old collie. My dog is so darned shy, groomers I had tried told me they could not groom her. I love bringing my dog here for his nails! Andrew is so nice and accommodating. Since my first time inside the store, just shopping to check it out, I felt welcome and knew this would become Odin's groomer. I just moved to Sarasota and live a few blocks from downtown in the Rosemary District, so being that this place is walking distance, I decided to give them a shot! Boy was I right! :) I brought my mixed-breed woof Chubbs into Wet Noses for the first time in July and asked for him to be cut very short because it gets so hot and humid here in the summer. I was extremely pleased with the customer service that the owners Clare and Audrey showed me throughout our visits and even more pleased that they let me meet DeeDee, the groomer who takes care of my little guy. I was so happy with the cut that I brought Chubbs back for the second time today. The appt. turnaround time was excellent; I called them yesterday to ask their availability and they said they could take him next day! They even asked about how I was doing after the hurricane (we just had Hurricane Irma roll through). Hands down best genuine customer service I have ever gotten at a grooming salon! Also important to note (and this was a HUGE selling point when I was researching groomers early on) that they only take ONE pet at a time, so the maximum I've had to wait for my little guy to be done with his appt. was 1 hour 45 mins. The perfect amount of time to grab lunch or have coffee at one of the many adorable cafes nearby. All in all, couldn't be happier with my experience at Wet Noses, Clare & Audrey! I can't say enough good things about Wet Noses! My little Abu absolutely hates going to the groomers (always has) and gets himself so stressed out. One day my schedule turned out to be crazy and I had to leave my little Abu at the groomers for a few hours longer than expected. Andrew behind the front desk, assured me that Abu would be played with and well cared for. He even sent me photos of their day spent together - taking walks and playing in the store. Told groomer no less than 5 times not to cut body hair on 2 Aussies Came to pick up dogs and body hair was nearly shaved which ruins Aussies coats. If you have specific requests for grooming would not recommend at all Follow up- owner calls me next day to tell me they do a lot of Aussies and that groomer just took dead ends (which was not the case - the dogs are never even outside to get dead ends anyway ) No apology for groomer not listening to what I asked for. Andrew is the owner, dog lover and wonderful and attentive pro of Wet Noses! He greeted our precious Lucy with love and enthusiasm and her experience was terrific. Her grooming was perfect, she was happy and playful afterwards and she looked adorable.
