We took our Havanese to Diane's for the first time. Diane and her staff were very friendly and really made me feel comfortable leaving my dog with them. They were also very punctual and said our full cut would take two hours and they would text us about 20 minutes before our dog was done. Wow, we are very surprised at some of the other reviews. We moved from Tampa to Sarasota and brought our two cats to Pawfections. The owner Diane only groomed one of the cats a little and said the other one was difficult and "she does not work with mean cats". Furthermore, she delivered her comments in an arrogant and pretentious way. We have groomed our cats since they were little (they are about 13 years old) and no one has ever had an issue. Took to another groomer in Sarasota a couple times since then and only comment is what nice and easy cats they are! So there is something wrong with Diane or maybe sometimes someone has been doing their job too long. So go at your own risk but not someone we would ever trust with our loved ones. I was told after I paid with a tip that I was charged a fee for behavior. When I tried to discuss, I was dismissed by the groomer (I think owner) that she waived it last time but charged it this time then she walked away from me. This is the second time I have left there upset. My dog is almost two years old and I have never had a complaint about him. It would have been nice to be given a heads up that he was bad and a fee was going to be added, especially since I asked the girl checking me out if he was good. The grooms are great but unless you want to pay $$$$ and be upset when you leave I would not recommend. Also it takes days for someone to return a call to schedule anything, and no flexibility when they have canceled your appts in the past. read more

Diane and her staff are AMAZING. I have two labdradoodles, one of which is an extremely difficult groom due to her not allowing anyone (not even me!) to touch her paws. I have tried multiple groomers within the Sarasota area and Diane's Pawfections is PAWFECT! I appreciate Diane and her staff doing everything they can to accommodate me and my especially challenging dog. Having a dog with behavioral issues as a result of being a puppy mill rescue is challenging, to say the least, and it has been very difficult trying to find a groomer that I trust and know will take care her, all while ensuring she is groomed, bathed, nails trimmed, ears cleaned, etc. Thank you, Diane and team! She may be great with dogs, but I wouldn't take my cat to her. First time there and we were in and out in 3 minute. She crammed a blackout hood, she called it a muzzle, but it wasn't on my cat who was surrounded by barking dogs and we he wasn't happy she got rude and told me to take him to a vet instead. I get that cats can really tear you up if you're not careful, but as a professional, she certainly didn't set us up for the best experience. I don't know if she was in a hurry or having a bad day, but it was not good. The other staff were very nice and helpful. like I said, probably great if you have a dog. I asked before I brought my dog if they can handle vet prescribed shampoo. I was told yes. My dog was allowed to shake his body I was told, and got the shampoo in his eye causing an eye ulcer and a trip to the emergency vet costing me 300 bucks. The vet also said both eyes were very dried out from being in the blower. When I spoke to owner she said she is not responsible for my dog I left in her care. She would not help out with the vet bill or refund the grooming charge. I do not recommend. read more

Baxter, our labradoodle, always looks good when we bring him home. Diane also respects the cost of maintaining our dog and only does the work necessary at the time. Wow! So glad we found this place! A true hidden treasure. We're traveling through town, it's getting hot and our dogs are in desperate need of a summer shave. After calling SEVERAL other groomers on YELP a friendly, unhurried voice answered the phone. There was just something about Diane that told me my pups we're going to be in great hands. After meeting her, my initial reaction was spot on. We picked up two happy dogs 4 1/2 hours later. Don't be dismayed by the somewhat run-down strip center. All of the little businesses seemed to be thriving in that "off the beaten path-little bit less overhead" kind of way. I took Sheba, my 12 year old long-haired cat, in for grooming. I was apprehensive because we adopted her 2 years ago and have had trouble managing her unruly mop. Diane was great with her. Although it looks like Diane mainly grooms dogs, she was wonderful with our Sheba. She was gentle and quick, and was careful around Sheba's arthritic hips.
