A delightful round of golf at a reasonable price. The course is appropriately challenging and well maintained. The greens were outstanding.. I was in town from DC and only had time to play the back nine. Was $30 (cart included) for a Sunday. Don't think it would have been much more to play 18. Only regret that I didn't have enough time to do so. I certainly hope I have to come back to the area because I want to play here again. The staff is incredibly friendly. There's a restaurant onsite but didn't have the opportunity to eat. Just grabbed a cold iced tea. read more

Customer service was awful. Some old man overcharged me while I was there and wouldn't correct it $72. Saying he was the director of something I didn't understand. Not very pleasant. I'm sure he put the word into the golf cart man's ear because he followed us around and told us we were playing too slow, with no one behind us. I accidentally left my putter, and went back later to find it. They said they didn't find it but I found it in a rental bag of clubs. Dishonest. I won't be back. read more

Beautiful and affordable at $55 to ride during prime time. You're not a country club, you're at a place the locals go so don't expect anyone to grab your bag and clean your clubs. Small gripe is that there aren't ball washers at every tee but the cheap drinks make up for that. read more

I have been playing this course about 5x annually for the past fifteen years. It has taken a nose dive from a quick-and-fun well-maintained track to a slow motion tooth extraction. Upon arrival this morning, we were told the course "ran out of carts" and were "running 10 minutes behind". 40 minutes later, we received a cart and were ushered to 1 tee. 15 minutes later, we teed off (3 groups all waiting at the first together). The greens used to be the best feature of the course - now they're the worst. They were in atrocious shape. The tee boxes were "cut" to a generous 3 inches - unsure why I brought tees! Could barely tell the difference between fairways and rough both of which merged together in what appeared to be a 3-year-old's mowing prowess. Not a single bunker wasn't a solid mound of clay/cement - I wouldn't dare attach the word "sand" to "trap". A great six dollar track! We were charged $48. read more

They did not tell me that the course closed at 8:30. The owner came out and started to yell and scream at me to "Get off his course right now, don't play the last hole." I asked him why he was yelling at me and he said he has to kick people off the course every night. I said well I've never been here before. He said he didn't care. Instead of even offering me a ride back he paced me with his and stared me down from about 30 feet away. Before I left i wanted to say that he should post a sign with the closing hours listed as to avoid confusion. He started yelling and as if I was attacking him. Saw some brutal reviews so was worried when my son booked a round there for us. Perhaps it was a good day, but I found the pro shop staff and starter quite friendly. Course was in good shape. Pace was moving along and finished in 4.5 hours. I would certainly play here again. Rated 3 stars but would give it 3.5 if I could. read more

Not covid friendly. Poor service; none of the staff are friendly. Over priced for a pretty poor quality course.

I have not played this course for about 10 years and I was a bit disappointed. There was a lot of thick crabgrass and a fair amount of burnt up grass. I am normally a pretty good putter but most of the greens were crowned so our foursome had a lot of chip shots roll off the green. Some of the greens were long but not very wide. I will come back but the course needs some work read more

I've been playing this course off and on for the past two decades. This is by far the worst shape it's been in. Burnt up fairways, horrible lies in the rough and bad greens in most holes. Cost is way too high for what they're trying to sell. Covid no excuse for this since most courses in the area look very good in comparison. To boot, they are the only course I've ever seen blatantly spout their political views the minute you step in the door. Not a place for that. I will never go back. read more

Awesome course and and great layout. Played it in the winter and it was still in very good shape. It's pretty challenging and offers a lot of tight shots with plenty of risk/reward. I'll definitely be trying it again in the spring/summer months. The price is great for the quality of the course too. Update: The course is in great shape for the summer. My only complaints are they really raised the prices to play and the people who work in the pro shop and around the course wear jeans. They are asking 20 dollars to walk nine holes after 4. I don't know about the cart prices because I only walk, but its pretty steep for walking that late in the day. Its still worth it to go walk once or twice a week. read more

I played there today and it was not busy at all because of the weather but it still took 5 hours to play a round because I had a foursome in front of me that refused to let me play through. as soon as we get there they start demanding we get a rental club bag cause there was two of us and we only had one bag. so after 15 bucks down the hole and they stripped me of my drivers license we were off. the cart was slow and the path we were told to drive in reminded me of the something from nam. luckily we were playing w some old timers who stole some driving range balls with us so that kept the spirits high. so my advice for coming here would be to just run past the old fart by the carts, turn the ignition, and go. read more

The actual course was very well kept and challenging for the price. But, we had a pretty frustrating experience. I played with a foursome on a Friday morning. The morning was pretty busy and our tee time was booked between 2 other foursomes. When we hit the first tee, on time, 2 other groups were already waiting behind us. We spent the day being rushed by the course ranger and eventually asked to skip a hole. Our pace wasn't that slow, we were playing ready golf. It seemed like we ended up being the scapegoat for an overbooked morning. Also, you can't bring your own alcohol. read more

This is a low-budget municipal track, so if you are looking for somewhere to bang balls around a golf course for a couple of hours this is the place. The course has some potential, but the management clearly does not put any effort into grounds maintenance. Lots of blind shots, and several very gimmicky holes (including a long uphill par 4 with a narrow fairway and a 70 foot tree in the dead middle of the fairway in the landing area). Not bad if you can play here for $25, but there are too many better options in the local area for courses to make this worth the visit. read more

Do not play here. My friends and I, 8 golfers made 7:30 tee time and 7:40. The gentleman on the phone too my friends credit card and charged to hold the times. We get here today and the guy in the pro shop says you have 7:56 and 8:05. They pushed us back and fit 3 groups before us. We made these times on purpose so we could be back home to watch the Ravens game. No discount, really no apology from the asshole in the pro shop. Congrats you just lost 8 30 year old golfers forever. Good much staying a float. read more

My two friends and I purchased a round on Golfnow, prior to play we were warming up on the chipping range, then out of nowhere the professed owner (Sam) emerged filled with hostility and venom yelling and screaming at us seniors to get off the range because he claimed he wasn't making any money off of Golfnow and therefore we couldn't use the putting and chipping ranges. He was belligerent, demeaning, and the whole episode was humiliating. When we asked for our money back he refused. Needless to say we elected not to commence with the round, instead we contacted Golfnow who provided us with credits for future rounds at courses of our choosing. I was particularly hurt by this incident because i played the course hundreds of times over the years, spent countless amount of dollars on non Golfnow rounds as well as on food, beverages, golf balls, and apparel. Moreover, I promoted the golf course to many of friends, acquaintances, and organizations, therefore it pains me say that I don't plan to ever set foot on the Wetlands Golf Course again. read more

The photos of this banquet facility is NOTHING like whats actually there. its is panelled and has many antiques, very quaint, and is built from old barns. The banquet hall is okay, but these 'professional photos' were NEVER taken there. The banquet manager, Beth, is two faced and arrogant. Great course with a fun layout (the score reflects overall value in it's competitive segment, I'm not comparing this to Bulle Rock or Mountain Branch, that would be dumb). That said: Right near Ripken stadium in Aberdeen and incredibly convenient off of I-95. Being up in Aberdeen makes it much more attainable to get a tee time than any of the Baltimore City or County Courses and because of that the prices are more reasonable too. I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about with regard to the friendliness of the staff, I have been here 3 times (once with my wife as a ride-along) and the staff has been nothing but gracious and kind. As a family-run business and no corporation behind them, they have to be gracious to their guests to rely on word of mouth advertising. Onto the golf... With 3 men's tees ranging from 6,728 to 6,444 to 6,002 there is plenty of variety for all skill level golfers. The course is nicely manicured with almost no bare spots on the fairways which is a nice departure from many courses that you usually get in this price range ($38 to $55 with a cart depending on the day and even better rates for seniors). If you find yourself off fairways and greens the rough is perfect for a 'municipal' course, not overly penal, but enough that you want to be in the fairway. Also, the high handicapper will not need a bushel of balls as you can find most wayward shots here.The reason for my downgrade from 5 to 4 stars are a couple of things. The greens are soft and hold approach shots very well, they roll true and are consistent from 1 to 18...but, for me they are a little bit slower than I traditionally like to play. In fairness, it has rained the day prior to all 3 rounds I have played there but I suspect they are still not quick (to many this may even be a plus; to each his own). Next, a 3 of the tee boxes are not flat, they are a bit convex which can make finding teeing ground a bit challenging, but save for those three holes they are good. Finally, the signage. It is very easy to drive the wrong way at a couple of points on this course and even at one juncture you can easily play the wrong hole as two holes run parallel to each other and the stone signage has been knocked over/broken by weather in the past. For most golfers you can shoot great scores here (just be smart on 18 and take the water out of play) as the greens allow you to be very aggressive with approach shots and especially on chips and putts. The small staff really does take pride in this course and the great shape. I have played rounds on Saturday morning, Sunday afternoon, and Thursday morning and have always been right around 4 hours which is great. As I mentioned before, it has rained prior to every round I have played here and there has never been standing water on the course or even overly soft/unplayable areas on the course which is really impressive. Even those few minor things I mentioned did not curtail my enjoyment of my round here and I will continue to go back for more and I recommend everyone else give it a try and make it part of your rotation of courses to play. read more

I also agree with Eric C.'s comment, but would also like to add that management treats their employees just as bad as their customers. Those employees you spoke with in the pro shop were most likely management because they usually won't let anyone else run the pro shop. The actual employees work the course, get the golf carts, etc. It's about the almighty dollar with them now, and it's sad. They have no problem berating their employees in front of their patrons either, and if you even begin to side with one of the "help", they will tell you to mind your own business,...as I've seen it first hand. Poor customer service and poor management makes for a poor business, and I won't be playing golf at The Wetlands any longer because of it. read more

Wow! I couldn't be more satisfied with our Foundation's tournament at Wetland's. Sam and Beth went overboard to make sure our outing was a success. Played this course 5/20/2015. Probably the best condition I've seen it in the past 3 years. Fairways and rough clean and mowed at the right height. Interesting layout. Greens very smooth and fair with no overly sloped pin placements. Excellent pace of play, friendly staff. Newly renovated practice area with chipping green. Some bridges being repaired. I play multiple times per week at a wide variety of courses north of Baltimore and southern PA and Wetlands is probably the best value in Maryland right now. read more

Do not play this course it is not customer friendly and the golf shop employees are extremely rude. The course only cares about money not the players or their family. I went there today in poor weather with my 11 year old daughter to play a round of golf. There was several other people there but the course was pretty much empty so no problems getting on. Where the issue begins with me is when I was ready to pay for my round the clerk proceeded to tell me that they would need to charge my daughter 15 dollar cart fee as well as my fees including another golf cart fee. I explained that my daughter does not play golf she only rides with me to watch and spend time with her father. There reply was it is managements decision to do this whichs false. I have played wetlands many times with my daughter and never paid cart fees for her as well as several of my friends with their kids. This was a gross display of a golf course gouging customers for more money then needed. When I asked for the manager everyone suddenly got dumb and couldn't tell me anything or when the manager would be available to speak with. My daughter was confused and disheartened by this event and makes my daughter not want to learn the sport/ game even more. This course is a far cry from what it was when Sal ran the pro shop and it was more family friendly. So players beware don't take your kids to hang out with you because you will be charged. Sorry for the long review but I Feel it is a sad thing to exploit customers like that even on a slow rainey day. Very unprofessional in my opinion. Ruggles Golf course is much nicer way more kid friendly and their first tee program is top notch. Plus they are fairly priced and your non playing kids ride free. read more
