My review is limited as we only came in for drinks and live music one night, but had a good time! Really enjoyed the strawberry & cream martini (forget actually name). We sat upstairs in some of the open seating. Live music was good, although couldn't understand them when they were talking to the crowd due to the sound quality. But music was enjoyable. We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Wexford Irish Bar, and a huge part of that was thanks to the bartender, Madi. From the moment we sat down, she was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely fun to talk to. Her energy set the tone for the entire visit. Madi clearly knows her craft. Our drinks were perfectly made and served quickly. She was great at making recommendations, handled a busy bar with ease, and never made us feel rushed or forgotten. On top of that, her friendly personality and made us feel very welcomed If you're visiting Wexford in Savannah, do yourself a favor and sit at the bar when Madi is working. Excellent Irish pub near the river in Savannah. The staff was attentive & knowledgeable. Drink presentation was on point & flavors were perfect. Go for the smoked old fashioned. So smooth! The reuben was one of the best I've had, bar none. Get the spicy house mustard on the side & dip your sandwich in it. So good!! The decor feels like you could be in Ireland. Lots of wood decor & a fire burning to ward off a spring chill. Live music plays daily outside. There isn't a bad seat in the house. Service was good. Music was fun! However, when It came to the food my companion and I had different experiences. He enjoyed the fish and chips and especially like the blue cheese coleslaw. I had the irish mac & cheese with grilled chicken that was supposed to have had Guiness somewhere in it but it was completely undetectable. I envisioned a creamy cheesy Guiness infused sauce but it was so dry and bland. It had a lot of breadcrumbs in it and sprinkled cheese on top. It came with a wee salad that had homemade strawberry vinaigrette, again no flavor whatsoever. The salad did have nice, crisp field greens. Very disappointed. Hands down one of the best restaurants here in Chatham County! They have indoor and outdoor seating, but eat indoors and enjoy the live music upstairs. They have to go options but you have to order at the bar. So many great things to eat here and the portions are big. The only thing we tried but didn't like was the shrimp and grits. This place is Last time we went we tried the fish batons, whiskey glazed shots, pot roast sandwich and shepherds pie. Everything was wonderful. The service was as well. read more

The food was SOOOOO GOOD! My husband ordered the reuben, I ordered the Pub sliders, & we got the Irish Poutine Fries, Gravy, whatever else is on there for an appetizer. All of it was amazing & we left full. Jake, our server, was awesome & helpful when we ordered as this is our first time here. I loved the live music. The building itself looks old (i'm sure it is) & I thought it was gorgeous. The prices aren't cheap but it's also not an expensive restaurant. Good food is always worth good money! read more

Typical Pub atmosphere. The service was fairly quick. Food was ok, nothing special. The shepherds pie had plenty of meat but was a little on the dry side. I did not get to sample the beer because of their ridiculous policy. I did not have my ID with me and the manager said they could not serve me; it was the law. Obviously not true since I was not asked for an ID anywhere else. I can see being careful and I'd like to think I look young, but come on , I'm nearly 80. read more

Came in saturday (made a reservation) and obviously understand the pressure of a busy restaurant so we waited patiently. About 40 minutes after we arrived nobody had come to greet us or even get drinks & we watched 2 tables get sat and have their drinks/alcohol before we even got a drink menu. When we asked to order we were told a manager was coming and expected an apology but unfortunately the large man in glasses (manager) had the WORST attitude and said if we don't want to wait, then we need to leave. We asked for drinks and he ESCORTED MY HUSBAND FROM THE TABLE AND MADE HIM LEAVE FOR BEING UPSET BY THEIR LACK OF SERVICE. While we waited at the table, we saw the manager come back, make eye contact with us, and then go back to IGNORING AND PRETENDING WE WERENT THERE. He is the worst restaurant manager i've ever encountered & as a manager myself, i am very disappointed in the lack of manners, let alone good customer service skills he so obviously lacked. Wexford sadly went from being one of our favorite spots to somewhere we will never revisit or recommend to anyone ever again. That manager needs to be fired. Horrible customer service. Overall, a good experience dining here with a friend. This is likely the busiest restaurant in the marketplace area. Despite this, both times I visited, I was seated promptly, with an impressive wait for the food to arrive. If I had to pick a fave, it would be the pot roast sandwich, served sub sandwich-style, with a side of impressive-tasting au jus for dipping. The sandwich was topped with an onion ring and a pickle. The meat inside was incredibly tender and flavorful. My only complaint about this sandwich is that I wish they offered two sizes. The one that you receive is not much bigger than a hot dog roll, but the bread is of better quality. I am not asking the existing size to be eliminated; I am suggesting that the customer be given the option of a larger size. My disappointment on my first visit and eating outside is that when ordering a pricey Cosmo cocktail, it was served in a plastic cup. Serving a pricey alcoholic beverage in a plastic cup dilutes the elevated experience you expect from a pricier beverage. I don't understand the rationale of serving this in a plastic cup when dining outside, when seated at a sturdy table. I confirmed that if you were sitting inside, this cocktail would be served in glassware. In retrospect, I wish I had declined the cocktail. I was somewhat disappointed in the fish and chips. It was acceptable, but not impressive. Somewhat greasy residue on the fish, and it was not authentic to what you would expect from Ireland or England. On both visits, the fries were disappointing because they were limp with zero crispiness. Their fries (chips) are advertised as house-made, and it is reasonable to expect a higher level of quality. This is a high-volume restaurant, so I can't imagine fries being kept under a warming lamp for very long. Good fish and chips must have the same attention to quality with both. I wish Wexford would not jump on the bandwagon by not offering taller glasses or pitchers of beer. Yes, I know profits are in alcohol. However, getting your larger tables to relax while looking at the menu typically results in a higher tab total, with making your guests feel more at ease. I gave Wexford 4 stars instead of 3 because it just tweaked a few things with quality and choices, they would be closer to a 5-star rating. read more

Our main courses were the grilled cheese paired with the tomato soup & pot roast sandwich. The portions are large enough to share without being left hungry. We sat by the fireplace and admired the view of all the wood work & beautifully adorned establishment in general. Great spot in the city market area of Savannah. Beautiful bar and restaurant felt like a true Irish pub. Had a great selection of beers and poured well :) Pot roast sandwich with side of tomato soup. Sandwich was tasty and pot roast was cooked perfect! Nice horseradish sauce on top. Tomato bisque was creamier and had a dab of goat cheese and pumpernickel croutons. Fish and chips- the fish was phenomenal. Cooked perfectly with lots of flavor. Only came with one large piece of fish. Cole slaw had goat cheese in it - not terrible but not how we prefer. Irish soda bread is not your typical soda bread in the US.- not sweet or raisins. But it was warm and good with butter. We'd go back for sure! read more

We made a trip downtown specifically to eat at Wexford. We were excited we immediately found a seat at the bar. I guess that should have been our sign. The service was horrible. To say the bar tender was not interested in being a server is an understatement. She walked to each patron and asked for their ID. A valid request. However, if you didn't have it out and ready she walked away. We asked for a menu and were ignored. We sat and slowly drank our cocktails assuming we would be asked if we wanted a menu. WRONG! We decided to take our money elsewhere and wont be back! So very disappointing! We have recommended this place to many visitors but from now on we will discourage anyone from coming. read more

Wexford was a pleasant surprise for an afternoon lunch! There were several small plates and appetizers that we ordered for a group of 5. They had live entertainment, and the tables were comfortable. All of the food was outstanding and I highly recommend the reuben, the chicken wings, the whipped goat cheese dip, and the pretzel! You can't go wrong sharing these items! Our server was fun, efficient and attentive! Our meal was not rushed, and there was live entertainment in addition!! We found this place on a celiac app stating there were gluten free options. three in our group all related have celiac disease. We explained they couldn't have any gluten no matter what. Not sure the hostess was familiar with food allergies and auto immune disease. Brought out beer and cider ( for celiac) and switch it giving the celiac the beer. she took a drink and rain to the bathroom. Ruined the night and the ghost tour we paid for. Please educate your food service employees. I wish they understood how damaging that can be. She was not overly apologetic as I don't think she understood severity. even though we tried to tell her. Giving three stars for the Mac n Cheese, which was far from excellent. The entire top two thirds was super dry, overcooked, breadcrumby. Some type of cheddar graced it, which wasn't even melted; it was clumpy. When underneath this all, you finally got to the 'creamy' mac, there just wasn't enough of it. Just generally disappointing and not at all worth $18. Now, hubs had the Pot Roast sandwich, was was literally amazing; incredibly tasty, and the au jus was spot on. Five Star, but unfortunately didn't make up for the mac. Skip that, and get the sandwich. RIP OFF ALERT ****Just changed my review because they charge 3% of your bill for using a credit card***IT'S CALLED THE COST OF DOING BUSINESS, AND IT'S TAX DEDUCTIBLE FOR THE BUSINESS! And the biggest rip off - you don't know they're doing this until you get your receipt. SHAME SHAME SHAME. They need to put this information on their website as well as their menu.
