What has happened to Weymouth Dental Associates? I used to be a patient at Weymouth Dental Associates years ago when I lived in Weymouth, and I remember having a very different experience. Because my mom lives nearby, I recommended this practice to her, so I was extremely disappointed to hear about her recent experience. From the moment she arrived, she was met with what she described as a very cold reception from the front desk. If you work in a healthcare setting, greeting patients with kindness and professionalism should be the bare minimum. Going to the dentist can already be an anxiety-inducing experience, and patients should feel welcomed and comfortable and not like they are an inconvenience. Unfortunately, her experience with Dr. Lin was no better. She felt that the bedside manner was lacking and that she was made uncomfortable during her visit. I understand that people come from different cultural backgrounds and may have different communication styles, but when you work in healthcare, you have a responsibility to make your patients feel respected, heard, and at ease. It took everything in me not to walk into the office after my mom told me about her experience. I recommended this practice based on my own positive experiences years ago, and I regret that my recommendation resulted in my mom having such a negative experience. Please do better. Patients have choices when it comes to their healthcare, and there are many other dental practices that understand the importance of treating patients with kindness, respect, and compassion. If I could give no stars, that would be appropriate for this dental office in Weymouth. PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE STORY! *The first time I went there, they had a new dentist give me an exam and all he did for 15 minutes was try to convince me to have braces and teeth whitening. I'm 67 and all my teeth are very straight and white. They later told me they let him go, as he was trying to upsell everyone. *My regular hygienist, Karen, who is excellent, was out on medical leave so they said they had someone taking her clients. They never told me it was a new inexperienced temp they hired. She didn't know how to scale or scrape teeth and basically just polished and flossed ...the whole cleaning was about 20 minutes instead of the hour that was normally done. * When my hygienist returned, the office had set up my appointments and I received a bill from them for one of the cleanings. When I told them I'm covered for 3 cleaning a year, they told me it was 4 weeks shy of the calendar year and I had to pay for it, as it was now considered a 4th cleaning in the year. When i asked why, I was told it was my responsibility to know what dates I can have the cleanings within. * One of my teeth cracked that already had a gold inlay in it. When i went there, they told me all the dentists were booked for a month (I guess I should have planned better on when I needed emergency work), but told me they had an incredible new dentist who could do it that day. I went in and met her. She was a lovely young lady. 27 years old and out of school for about a year. To drill out the filling already there and make the mold took 3 hours. She gave me 7 shots of novocaine over a period of 3 hours, due to the first ones wearing off after it took her so long. She was taking a scan of my tooth while holding the curved sharp dental pick in the same hand and poked the inside of my nostril with it. Then she was using the water drill and my mouth filled up with water, running down my throat, and when i was gagging my tongue moved in my mouth while she was drilling and she scored my tongue. I couldn't eat for 2 days as it was too painful. And the assistant had to show a dentist how to use the scanner for the image. She said she never used one like this before. Now THAT made me feel confident. * And to finish off the topping of the cake: I went to the front desk. I had never been told from the beginning any price. And THEN the receptionist looked at me and said "WOW, YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN I TELL YOU HOW MUCH THIS IS GOING TO COST. I asked her why would she say that to me. You'd think she would have stopped talking at that point, but no, she kept going. She then said: " DO YOU WANT TO SIT DOWN BEFORE I TELL YOU THE PRICE?" That remark made me feel like I was being ripped off by this dental office. And after I found out the price for a new intern dentist, I did feel like I was ripped off. I was now aggravated after having to keep my mouth open for almost 3 straight hours and told her to just let me know how much I owe. THEN she proceeded to say: YOU HAVE TERRIBLE INSURANCE..IT DOESN'T COVER ANY OF THIS. At this point I had had enough of her immature stupidity. I went right to the office manager who decided to take me down the hall to another office area. Her inside behind the glass windows, which she opened and me standing in the hall. She asked me what the receptionist said to me so I repeated the exact story you are reading now. THEN she told me that she already talked to her about this sort of thing 2 other times. and my response was: AND YET, SHE STILL IS BEHIND THE DESK. And only then did i find out the price was almost $2900. And I never received an itemized bill from them. They just took my credit card and no bill given. I only saw all the charges when my insurance company sent me an EOB. Worst experience I've ever had with any type of medical professional. I found a new dental office in Braintree called Dr. George Salem and Assoc. Walking into their office was night and day after what I just left. I look forward to having my teeth taken care of by professionals who know how to treat their patients. read more

Have redone numerous fillings and rebilled the insurance company every time. Never provide a detailed bill. Last time only received a receipt for what I paid them but did not detail the services. I am transferring my entire family away. Awful. read more

The dentists and hygienists are perfectly lovely and competent. My issue is with the front desk staff and their lack of communication and proper coordination of patient care. I was not given the necessary information prior to an appointment and ended up having to cancel due to this omission. I spoke with Heather who lacks basic customer service skills. Even though this was the fault of the office, her attitude was "Oh well, what do you want me to do about it?". Well Heather, I want you to take some responsibility and be held accountable. Because this was not the first time that she has acted like this, I will likely be taking my business elsewhere. I don't need to be treated like an inconvenience. read more

I've been to the office a few times now. Every single time the staff has been so nice and pleasant. They've been accommodating to my busy schedule and patient/helpful with all my questions. Going to the dentist is never awesome, but Dr. Rogers makes the effort to make the appointment the least amount of awful possible....which is much appreciated. I've had a good experience every time and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great dentist in the area. read more

I have been going here for about 5 years and have had a great experience everytime. Toni the office manager will answer any question you have with scheduling or billing and work with you if things come up all of a sudden before your appointment. Bridget my hygenest does the best job cleaning my teeth and is meticulous with cleanings and exams. Today, My dentist Jessica removed an old filling from when I was a kid and replaced it with a new one. There was no pain and she made me feel completely comfortable throughout the process. Unfortunately, I have to write a bad review for this dental practice. I was hoping my experience would have turned out better. First, I asked if they would accept my insurance and they said they would, but they were not on the preferred list for my insurance... they made it seem like I would only have to pay about 15-20$ more for services....I accepted that, yet I didn't realize they were really trying to get me in the door and up-charge me for just about everything. I took my kids in and they charged me 100$ each (5 and 3 years old) to get an "oral evaluation" which consisted of the dentist looking in their mouths for less than 10 seconds!!! Unbelievable!! That didn't include their 85$ each "cleaning"!!!! I had over 800$ to pay from my services on top of the insurance which is about 3x more than a preferred dentist would have charged me... I checked with other dental offices. I can't believe they convinced me in the beginning to even go there knowing that it was a better choice to go somewhere else!!! I was also unhappy with a service. I had a tooth re-bonded from being chipped a long time ago and the filing is darker than all of the surrounding teeth.... I set up an appointment to have them fix it, the manager was supposed to call me back to see if they were going to charge me or not. She never called me back to tell me so I went in the there and the two girls at the desk knew exactly who I was...never said a word!!!! After I asked them to release my records to my new dentist and cancel the appointment, I walked right out the door and realized I wouldn't let them do anything else anyway. I went to a new dentist and he agreed, they could have done a much better job on my front tooth and the crown they put in less than a year ago... well it needs to be replaced already........ don't go here, it's a turn and burn dentist and they could care less about their patients!!!!! read more

The two fillings they replaced have to be replaced after a little over two years..They told me I have to pay full price after two years to have the fillings that they put in replaced..I have had other fillings in my mouth for more than 10 years that have never had a problem and some the fillings I had before those lasted more than 15 years. They also charged me, individually above my insurance, for composite fillings more than $250 over my insurance. They offered FREE whitening for life, which I found out consisted of a custom cast plastic whitening tray and two syringes of Venus 35%. Using two syringes of Venus, conservatively , it only fills the trays 6 times...that was not nearly enough to whiten my teeth. When I inquired , they tried to sell me ZOOM in their office for $400..I told them from the getgo the only reason I joined was the FREE whitening for life..I didn't even get enough stuff to get them white even once..When I finally found a new dentist, it took forever to get them to send my X-rays to my new dentist read more
