Recently, I decided to purchase a used Lexus and needed a pre-purchase inspection report. Now at the time, L Japan Autoservices was unavailable, on such short notice, and so I scheduled an appointment with First Class Halt. It was very easy to make an appointment with First Class (FC) and I was able to have my used Lexus inspected almost immediately. However, I soon found out that FC charged me roughly twice what L Japan Autoservices charged for the same service. FC charged me $250 for the pre-purchase inspection report and found a small oil drip near my engine. FC then told me I should have an UV Engine Dye Test to locate the source of the small oil leak for $200. They also said once we know where the leak is coming from we can fix it for an additional charge. I thanked FC for their report and after a few days was able to set up an appointment with Joe of L Japan Autoservices. Now, Joe only charged me $125 for his pre-purchase inspection report. Joe took a video of his inspection and sent it to my phone. He pointed out quite a number of small issues that I should be aware of, like my battery terminal corrosion. In addition, Joe showed me on the video where the very small engine oil drip was and felt that because there was no oil leaking on the ground, and no burnt oil smells, and the oil dipstick level had not changed significantly I could just watch it for now and address this issue later. This advice saved quite a bit of money and worry. Thank you Joe!

I got there, and they were doing well until I made up my mind which one I wanted and asked to take a test drive. They began the drama. First, they don't allow test drives on Corvettes, so I told them I wasn't paying much for a car I couldn't fully drive, even with full insurance. They went to talk to "Steve" (the used-car manager), and I was leaving as I came out of the bathroom, headed for the exit. The salesman (who had done a great job in this situation as he could) came to me and said Steve said I could drive it, but first I had to be approved for the loan. I told him I was buying the car outright and didn't need the loan; I had cash but wasn't interested. As I was getting in my truck, Jeff (sales manager) came to the parking lot and said we could drive the car. Roller coaster of rules. Funny how the whole thing changed when I no longer needed their loan. By then, I was over it, and my wife said she had never felt so disrespected in her life. I called a friend of mine, and he said they had done the same thing to his buddy. His buddy fell for it, and the car immediately clunked. Three days later, the torque tube had to be replaced. The car I picked out I wanted badly and was going to buy it, but I am pleased I walked away. I had driven 4 others the same day, with not a second's hesitation from the dealership. We had to take in our Chevy Bolt EUV, and upon arrival it's as if Shawn (service) wouldn't even speak to me without talking to my husband, too. Continued to call me "little lady" etc etc- demeaning and very condescending. After dropping the car, we were not contacted at all re: any of the progress, estimated date of completion, what was actually wrong etc. I finally called to check and they still didn't tell me what they were doing to it, just that it'd be ready "Friday". We picked it up and I had to ask what they did- got a curt "well, looks like a replaced battery" and we were on our way. Fast forward to this week and I was asked by the tax auditor to reach out to Chevy directly for an appraisal-- I left a message w/ customer service and never heard back causing us to miss the depreciation deadline. Overall- steer clear. Seems like this place needs a customer service overhaul.

The others wanted me to call them rather than being proactive. I provided the vin and the quote was 60% less than the dealer. I spoke with Caleb, and we added more things to do. During the maintenance, he sent photos of his work. I live pretty close to him. He was able to take my car in the night before and he delivered the vehicle back to me completed. It is difficult to find an honest mechanic who isn't trying to scalp you. It is also difficult to find a mechanic that has fair pricing. I recommend Fix All Auto, LLC. I know I will be using Caleb again in the future.
