I have made several purchases with WH Hostess before with no problem. I love their product and always received them on time. With all that being said, I'm not sure what has happened with WH Hostess. I made two separate purchases with WH Hostess in 2013. I ordered one of Kelly's magazines and her new book that was published, and to this date, I have yet to receive anything. I have emailed Kelly over, and over. I have left many voice mail messages. I even sent a Certified letter to the address she has listed on her website, only to have the letter returned stating that the P.O. Box she has listed on her website, is no longer hers. To be fair, I did receive an email from Kelly in October 2013 statin that her book release was pushed back and I should ship out in November. That was the first and only reply I have received from Kelly. Today is November 21, 2014, and I still have not received the items I purchased, and still no reply from Kelly. I had a wonderful experience using WH Hostess! If you are looking for special, preppy modern, and all around cute things, you found the company. I had the pleasure of working with Kelly directly, and I am happy to say that she was nothing but professional and timely. I hosted my cousins baby shower and used the "Preppy Animal" design. It could not have been cuter! Every question/concern I had was addressed and answered. All the products were delivered in a timely manner. I had rave reviews from shower guests regarding all of the special little touches. WH Hostess is a wonderful company and I look forward to using them again for my daughters 2nd birthday in July! read more

This is the worst experience ever. I order several items for my baby shower and never received them . I contacted them and left several messages and never got a call back. I am saddened to write this post. I have ordered from WH Hostess several times over the past two years with no complaint. The orders have arrived, the products have been precious and, once, upon placing a relatively large order, I received a personal email of thanks from the owner, Kelly, herself. However, I have had nothing but trouble with my most recent order placed on 11/30/19. The product never arrived and, despite numerous emails to the company, I have yet to receive a response. I initiated a credit from my credit card company, but just received a denial from them because they received a response from the merchant. The "response" was just a listing of all of the items I ever ordered from the company with no explanation of why my last order was not sent or proof that I received the order. My concern is that something is going on behind the scenes with this company. There are repeated posts on Instagram showing the owner doing collaborations with other businesses, spending time at trade shows or capturing happy moments with her family. I question if she is aware of these customer service issues or if dealings with large order clients have taken over her ability to concentrate on single order customers using the website? (although recently there have been some negative business reviews as well.) I'd pose some of these concerns on IG or via email, but after reading all of the other reviews on here, sense they'd immediately get deleted or never responded to, so for now, this seems to be one area of recourse. I certainly don't want to see any business fail, but don't want to see anyone else be affected by poor business practices either. read more

On August 2, 2012, I ordered $80 worth of personalized jungle themed items for my son's first birthday party. My son's birthday is October 15th. I emailed Kelly, the owner, September 21 as I had not received the product yet. She stated the product had been returned to them by the postal service. I sent her my correct mailing address again and she said the product would be sent out in a few days. I never received anything from this company! I sent numerous emails after the initial conversation, and NEVER got a response. In fact, the few responses I did get from Kelly, she was rude and unapologetic. I did NOT get reimbursed the money I paid her. She basically stole my money! THEN I had to go buy new craft product and make everything from scratch. Many unplanned hours spent making decorations for this working Mom! I did turn this business into the Better Business Bureau. I urge others who have encountered problems as such with this company to do the same. I have never experienced such poor business practice and feel that Kelly being allowed to continue with her business is unacceptable! DO NOT consider purchasing anything from WH Hostess or any magazine/company that features her business as an advertisement to further her profit. I wish I would had read these reviews prior to spending over $400 on supplies with WH Hostess. I ordered my puppy party package 6 weeks out from my party. Two weeks after the order I emailed her to ask if she could make a change to an invite to which she responded they had already been printed. Another two weeks later, still no invites (or anything else!!!) arrived. I emailed her to which she gave me some bogus story that there were two puppy parties ordered by the same name person and mine was shipped to that person in Alabama. Coincidently, I never received the "other" party package that was supposedly mixed up with mine. 10 days out from the party when I asked her to reprint and overnight me invites she stated that it was coming USPS and out for delivery and I should call USPS at 630pm to track it. The next day (9 days out) from the party the package arrived with items destroyed inside from the trip and ANOTHER childs name on a few of the signs!!!! I emailed her to express my disappointment and request a refund only for the destroyed items, invites and postage to which she said she would not do. Buyer beware!!! Do not order from this place. Check the other reviews, don't do it. The person who runs this company does not stand behind her product. She sent me illegible favor tags just days before I needed them and then, when I wrote to express my dissatisfaction, brushed me off without even trying to remotely rectify the situation. I ordered some powder room napkins in a cranberry color at a fundraiser. I received GREY napkins. When I reached out to Kelly on 11/20/17, she apologized saying that they were "out of cranberry napkins until 2018"... never told me they were out, didn't give me an option, just sent a different color. When I told her I really wanted the cranberry because that is what matches my bathroom, Kelly told me to "keep the grey ones... and we'll get the cranberry ones just as soon as it's available". So I kept the napkins, but followed up with Kelly via email on 02/12/18. No answer. I emailed again, stating that I was having a party on 02/24/18 & really wanted the napkins before that, was it possible? Again nothing. Tried messaging her through her website. Nada. Emailed on 02/19/18 asking her to confirm that she received my emails. Again crickets. Here it is 02/26/18. Party has come & gone. While I LOVED the product & would have been a long term client... the customer service is wretched & therefore I will not be buying again. I am disappointed, because as I small business owner myself, I get the importance of customer service. I also under the annoyance of a yelp review... but after no response, I can't seem to get the napkins I ordered, I doubt I'll get my money back... it looks like I am not alone in the frustration w/ Kelly's inability to respond. read more

I ordered birthday supplies for my son, although the items are cute...beware. The customer service is horrible! One of the items I ordered was incorrect and Kelly (owner) was incredibly rude, she offered no remedy and did not reply to emails. I have had the same experience. I ordered the "Eloise" collection over a month in advance of the party. I had to follow up with her a couple of weeks later and was told my order shipped. I received the decor before the party, but it has been two months since I placed my order and have yet to receive my plate. I ordered party favors for my son's 1st birthday party three weeks before the date I needed them, which was sufficient based on her two week posted delivery time. I must have emailed Kelly Lyden 13 times and never received one response. I even emailed her the day I placed my order to ensure that I would receive it on time, as I didn't want to run into an issue. There is no other contact info for Kelly, there is no phone number, her Facebook page doesn't receive messages or posts, the only form of contact is the email which she clearly doesn't respond to. Had I read the reviews on here or the BBB first, I would never have ordered from her as this seems to be a trend. All the reviews are completely accurate, and there is not one positive review. My party was a week ago and I never heard back from her, never received my items, and have yet to receive the refund I asked for. I'm sharing my experience so nobody else falls victim to this fraud. I ordered Elmo invitations from this website they took over 3 weeks to receive them. I ordered them on Nov 7th and received them on Dec 1st. My daughter's party was on the 10th and I had to invite everyone via text message thinking the invitations weren't coming it. I tried contacting the owner and she was too busy to call me because she was at a trade show. Poor customer service. Never called. Within this order, I also ordered an 80" Elmo banner that was $40.00 and personalized - it came in blank!! No "Happy Birthday" - nothing just colored paper. Who would pay $40.00 for a colored banner!? Extremely dissatisfied customer. If you want anything from this company you better order months in advance and hope the order comes in correct. I ordered a Cake Plate Cling on August 10th for a friend's bridal shower. I never received it in time for the party on August 18th, but figured I had ordered it too close to the time of the party. On September 3rd, I emailed Kelly requesting the status of my order and no response. Then on September 10th, I emailed her again statiung I've already emailed one week ago and never heard anything when asking the status of my order. She finally emailed me back stating my cake plate cling would be sent out that week since their machines had "been down" previously. Well, It's October 8th, and I've sent two more emails and still nothing. Finally contacted Capital One to dispute the charge since I never received my merchandise so they can return my money. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I've also seen on their Facebook page that other customers never received their merchandise either.
