The most popular item tbh is the garlic shrimp pasta and it makes sense because it hits every time you are craving it. The burger is pretty good here too. As someone who is on a salt restriction, I usually just ask things for no seasoning/no butter if I can, and they can usually accommodate. The service can depend on the rush, so don't be too quick to judge based on it. They can be short staffed at random times, but honestly they are really kind and considerate people who love serving others and easy to talk to and love. We haven't had troublesome workers ever. The ambiance is like a moderate to teeny bit fancy diner-esque type of place. It is pretty chill in here. No dress code vibe. People have come dressed up for Mother's Day brunch vibes or in swimwear with covers/tank tops with board shorts and their floaties from the lazy river. When I'm in the mood for wings, I get naked wings with sauce on the side. Their blue cheese dressing is delicious. The wings are naked naked like no salty flavor or anything which I can appreciate a plain palette/canvas so that I can go as liberal or not with sauces. They are quick to refill your cups/coffee. :)

They serve breakfast all day and have lunch/dinner options. A little pricey, $20 each, but good sized portions. Sandwiches can come with tater tots or truffle fries. My BLT had lots of bacon so I felt as though I got my moneys worth. The turkey club is stacked with extra bread. The fries don't really have a strong Parmesan truffle flavor but were cooked really well! I would eat here again if I stayed at the casino.

The atmosphere is lively and they even have live bands on some days, which adds to the experience. Service can be a bit slower during busy times, but overall it's still a fun place to visit. And I put buffet in quotations because it's not actually a standard buffet, but more of a sit down "all you can eat". You need to be at blue card level (2nd tier level) to gain access to the buffet but they sometimes will let new people or red cards enter if they aren't busy. There's also a mandatory $8 (recently raised from $7) tip per person that's dining. If you're not black card (highest tier) you usually have to wait 1-2 hours before even being called to get in line. Then you have to wait in line 20-45 additional minutes before being seated. Black cards get to skip the initial wait and go directly into the line to wait to be seated. Once you're seated you get to choose a soup, salad, or both and then wait for them to bring you the food. Then you have to wait again for your server or try to flag one down to place another round of orders. On average my family has noticed people usually only do the appetizer round, one or two main rounds, and dessert because of the long service times. My family averages around 4-5 main rounds so we sit there for 3-4 hours sometimes with the majority of that time just waiting. The service is the main reason I say this place is hit or miss. If you get a nice and attentive server then everything goes great, but some of the servers are very noticeably there to just do the minimum amount for the job and that's it. Some servers will listen to your orders and actually tell you what additional options there are (like for the lobster tails we didn't even know until months later that we could get it with garlic butter or different sauces on top of it), and some even go and get the food to bring directly to you if they notice you've been waiting too long. Others.. will look around and barely hear what you're ordering and get the whole plate wrong or forget items for your order, resulting in you only getting 2 or 3 of what you asked for instead of the whole 4 that you're supposed to get. Or sometimes the opposite happens where they bring 2-3 of the same item on one plate and none of the other items that you ordered. It's already bad enough that most of the time, the servers only come to your table every 30-45 minutes so you're waiting an incredibly long time just to get one plate of food. The best times to go are definitely the weekdays very early right when they open (if you're not a black card) and the worst times are Fridays and weekends. They also have a recommendation to not have groups larger than 4 because they either split you up or you have to wait an extremely long time for a table to accommodate your group (because they only have 2 tables for large parties). They honestly should just turn the cafe dining room into an additional dining area for the buffet since that space goes wasted after they close and the cafe is literally right on the other side of the wall of the buffet. We've been coming here every other Friday for the drawings for almost 2 years now and the service is so inconsistent but the food is great! There has only been one time I was served a rancid lobster tail and almost threw up in the dining area. The menu changed last month and we tried the new tenderloin, it was absolutely perfect. But then a few weeks ago we tried it again and it was served well done even though we all asked for medium rare (and that's the last time we ever ordered the tenderloin because of that). One problem that happened the other day though was that the people doing the seating weren't seating any of the black card line. There were 8 tickets lined up and only 4 for the other line, but they kept seating the other side and kept putting up a new ticket. The group in front of us had 2 disabled people waiting for 30 minutes (and one of them was missing a leg). I felt so bad for that guy. The explanation was that "we have to follow the timestamp on the tickets to seat people fairly" but hello??? We're not blind. No one was being seated in the black card line for 30 minutes, even small groups of 2 that were in front of us started complaining. I don't understand the "timestamp" bs because we can actively see people getting in the other line, paying waaaay after the 3 groups ahead of us AND us, and still get seated before us. A group of 5 that paid after us in the general line got seated before any of the 3 groups ahead of us. It was just ridiculous but was a one off bad experience compared to the hundred we've had but thought I'd mention it. We still love coming to eat here because the food is great and consistent and almost all of us are black card members so we get food vouchers, but the service definitely needs some improvement or at least consistency equal to the food quality.

We do however have our preferred or favorite servers, food runners and hosts. We prefer and LOVE Monica. Her energy, intelligence, and smile are top notch. Andres a food runner has been there a long time who also has a great personality, and one of the few runners who actually remembers to bring you a requested item. These individuals we've known a long time, and believe they would be better suited as trainers, supervisors or even management. I'd include Tomas in our Patties favorites, but he was moved to Black and Blue Steak House. Another favorite restaurant at Valley View. We're also fans of Michael, and a few others I can't remember their names at the moment, especially an extremely likable, smaller statured food runner who was made a server a few months ago. Having been in management in the plumbing industry I know how important training in one's daily tasks and people skills is to a quality business like Valley View Casino, the only casino we frequent. Unfortunately, bad experiences happen even in the best of establishments. Last night at Patties we had a new server who seemed so serious, barely a smile. Which is fine. I don't mind that so much. Definitely not enduring or memorable though. She did her job well, and even checked to make sure our food tastes good, and if we had all we needed. My main issue came when we got our bill, and I asked her to adjust the tip. I realize how cheap that sounds, but let me continue. When we first were ordering we mentioned we had a lot of food we wanted to take home. It was the end of the month, and we had over a hundred dollars worth of food vouchers we needed to use up. We normally don't have any left over. She excitedly, almost smiling encouraged us to order our takeout right away with her, "otherwise we would have a long wait, if we didn't put our order in right away." We spent just under $60.00 for our sit down meal. Our normal 20% would've been $12.00 on the $60.00. Our to go order was just under $100.00, which I felt definitely deserved a tip, but not the 20% suggested gratuity that the bill included. Maybe we were being cheap. I don't know. The obvious anger on her face when I asked her to adjust the tip was palpable. I asked her to adjust the $32.00, "Suggested Gratuity," to $20.00, which I would've been grateful for the years of being a food server in college. She got 20% for our dining in, and about 10% for our to go order. Not so cheap after all. When she returned with the revised bill, she was so mad she could barely talk. Poor thing. Felt kind of bad for her. She muttered a couple of times I could barely hear her, but kept asking what she said. The third time she said clearer that we shouldn't order to go food with her, that we should go to the to go window next time. She should've been happy for the 20% on the meal, and 10% on the to go order. It all adds up over the shift. We definitely will avoid her at all costs. Next time we'll request our favorites.

3 stars (or whatever fits your vibe--solid but not standout)…read more Honestly, I probably wouldn't drive all the way out here just to eat at Patties & Pints. It's tucked inside Valley View Casino, about 45 minutes north of central San Diego, so unless you're already gambling, staying overnight, or in the area, it's not a destination spot. There are plenty of better standalone burger joints or pubs closer to home. That said, the food is good--nothing mind-blowing or worth raving about, but reliably solid for casino pub fare. We went with burgers from their signature all-beef blend, and they hit the spot without any major complaints. The deep-dish pizzas, wings, fries, and other apps seem consistent based on what I've seen around. Portions are decent, and it's satisfying if you're craving something hearty with a beer. Our server, Marcus, was decent too--just did his job without going above and beyond. Attentive enough, no issues, but nothing exceptional either. One thing that really bugged me: they automatically add a tip (auto-gratuity) even for a two-person table. That's ridiculous in my book. It feels like it removes any incentive for better service and just assumes mediocrity is fine. For small parties in a casual spot like this, it comes off as greedy. The place itself is clean and well-organized, which is a nice change from some casino spots. But it's pretty small for a casino restaurant, so it can feel cramped. Seating/waiting is poorly managed--wait times drag on, and the system for calling names or seating people isn't smooth at all. Bottom line: If you're already at Valley View Casino, hungry, and don't feel like dealing with the buffet line (or want something quicker and more casual with beers and TVs for games), Patties & Pints is a fine option. It's convenient in that context. Otherwise, skip the drive--it's just average casino eats. Good luck, and hope the slots are kinder than the auto-tip policy!

Never once have I had an experience like i had here at valley view. I placed slot bets between 2.40$ and 9$. All over the place i was getting bonuses and had initially thought everything was going great. But it slowly caught on to me that something was very wrong. Every single bonus I was getting was paying nothing. I even played Spooky Link/Mo Mummy and got the feature which provides extra diamonds to rank up the mummy, and on a 7.50$ bet. I got no coins whatsoever, and also no diamonds at all. And the 5 spins lapsed with a 0$ payout. I didnt even know that something like that was possible. I constantly went around and popped bonuses on slots. 5$ bet, paid 2.50$, 6$ bet, paid 26$, 4.50$ bet, paid 12$. Im not British, but I literally have to use the term Gobsmacked. Ive never been so shocked to have an outcome like this playing slots. Even on a losing day at any random casino ill go to, ill still have random bonuses that will pay a few hundred. Just to make sure it wasn't me. I observed many other players. I kept walking around and seeing people get bonuses on slots that, regardless of bet size, paid either LOWER than the initial bet, or from a 20-40$ payout range. This place is absolutely not to be trusted. There's something very dangerous and very scammy going on in the background here with how they manage their machines. Do not come here, go to pechanga, baronan, yaamava, etc. You will have your money stolen from you and you will not have even the slightest chance of profiting. Read other reviews.
