It's a small-ish space with not a lot of tables and no real ambiance, so be prepared to wait in line at peak hours (there is no dedicated Diamond /Seven Stars line). The menu is extensive and offers a wide assortment of mostly Chinese dishes (common/classic as well as slightly more obscure) as well as some Thai and Korean dishes. We've eaten there twice and were pleased both times. The ingredients were fresh, the food came out quickly, and everything was well-seasoned. Currently the options at Harrah's are limited unless you want to spend an arm and a leg or get fast food. Been curious about KJ as it's always been busy the times we've passed by. Just so happened that there was no visible line and we had some time to spare. So, thought we'd give it a try. We were seated right away in the inside dining area. Took a while for our order to be taken. All the while we noticed servers rushing in and out of the kitchen area, dirty dishes dropped noisily into bus bins and staff literally shouting back and forth to and from the kitchen. This was all within 5 minutes of sitting down prior to our order being taken.... Had to flag someone down to take our order as we were in a bit of a rush trying to grab a quick bite prior to catching a show. We ordered the Seafood Tofu Clay Pot and a side of greens. Both to share. After ordering the noise and yelling continued. When the food came out we weren't overly impressed. The greens were good and crisp. Not over cooked. The clay pot needed more flavor. I visited KJ Chinese restaurant with my daughter on Monday and the food was really good. We really enjoyed our dinner, but I will say the service was not too great. Don't get me wrong. We got seated fairly quickly and they brought us water but after that we waited about 10 minutes for anyone to take our drink or food order. We were just sitting there waiting for us to get some attention. The restaurant was clean and once we finally ordered our meal came out rather quickly. Anytime I dine in KJ Chinese restaurant, Id always order the deep fried flounder. Its one of the best thing they served. The fried chicken is little on the plain side but it had a nice crunch. The white rice is little on the hard side. I feel like its not cooked all the way or it needs more water in it during the cooking process. I feel like I would have to bring my own white rice to enjoy it with my fried flounder. I would enjoy it more if the rice was cooked right. Wor wonton soup ($25.95): this was the only letdown, as it tasted like top ramen but had tons of filling, 3/5 stars. Pork siu mei ($10.95): tender and juicy, 4/5 stars. KJ's food is so delicious and really satisfying. The food is always served hot and fresh. I like the Asian persuasion decor of the restaurant and it adds to our actual enjoyable Chinese lunch or dinner experience. The servers aren't one for a bunch of conversation but once you order, food comes out fast and as soon as it's ready. You must try the Shrimp fried rice, sweet and sour pork and beef and broccoli. This is our go to meal and the portions are enough shade and we usually have food to take home as well. My mom always makes her preference known that she wants to go there whenever we go to Harrah's Casino. The food has never disappointed and is very consistent. I was sure proved wrong though! The pho was actually good, it had a hint of Chinese flare to it though. The 5spices really was prominent in the broth and they're not stingey with the meats. The special had everything per usual. Beef, tripe, tendons& a little bonus of meatballs. The meat was a little different though. More of the stir-fry type of meat, but still good. I've been there twice over the past one year customer service is absolutely horrible. For example, there is nobody in the restaurant. Every single table is empty. Only One person is cleaning a table off. One other person is working on organizing to go orders and the cooks are back there cooking. Meanwhile there is a line of six people waiting to get a seat and standing there for more than five minutes. And must continue waiting while the first person orders a to go order The rest of the customers must continue to wait because no one else in the empty restaurant is willing to come up and seat people as easily as it sounds. The food is good, it has a good location with a great atmosphere, but for me, it's not worth the hassle of being stuck there waiting a half hour for your bill after your done. As what happened last time I was there And I was not alone. I was watching someone else trying to wave the one single waitress down in an extremely small restaurant to get a bill. Both were really good and really spicy! I love the tingling numbness you get from Szechuan peppercorns. There togo process sucks. You order off the side and they tell you to it will be ready in a certain amount of time. Both times i had ordered expecting them to bring the food up to me as im waiting at a machine or even at the least back to the counter where i ordered but no, they complete the order in back and it sits there until you come up and check to see if you order is ready. So you don't really know how long your food has been sitting. The last time i placed an order they told me to come back in an hour (it was a Saturday night), I came back 45 minutes later and my food was ready! How long was it sitting there for? I'll admit it wasn't my first choice but since other restaurants were closed on Tuesdays, I selected KJ. It did end up being a good choice since Chinese food is a comfort food in my book and they have a very wide selection of items. In line with many other Chinese restaurants the service is efficient but don't expect extravagant pleasantries. For food, we ordered the following: - Congee (plain): it didn't give much description but I assumed it would come with some stuff like green onions, but I was wrong. It's literally just plain. It still tastes good but wish there were some other ingredients included. - Stir fried clams w/basil: I was craving clams and this one hit the spot. - Beef chow fun: very tasty noodles with a very generous portion size Again I'll make note that it was a little pricey but expected since it's in a casino. I hate to write a review like this but it needs to be done. The food was not good. We ordered Orange Peel Chicken it was gross. It had a funky smell and taste. My wife wanted me to smell the chicken and it seemed it was cooked in rancid oil. We also ordered beef chow main and it was ok, but a bit greasy. The egg rolls were not all that either. The rice was the only decent thing. The meal came to 64 bucks and I gave a tip. After the meal, my daughter got a really bad stomach ache. We ended up here after walking around, as the other options didn't really appeal to us. When we arrived, there was a short line to get in, but we were seated within about 15 minutes. They have seating directly outside the restaurant and some table seating inside. The menu has typical items you'd find at other comparable Chinese restaurants, but because the establishment is sitting in a casino, expect to pay twice as much as you would elsewhere. I have to say that although the food was good, it didn't warrant the prices. Portions were okay, and the service was good, but I probably won't return unless I'm really craving Chinese while I'm staying in the hotel. Overall, it was just an okay experience. read more

Located in Harrahs Casino, KJ's is a solid choice for a meal! We ate around 3:30 and there were hardly any people in the restaurant at the time. It took around 15 minutes to even get seated so be prepared to wait even if it seems pretty empty. The service is not great & we weren't even checked on once. Once we ordered though, the food came out relatively fast. Between three of us, we shared sweet & sour pork, hot & sour soup, XO string beans, & shrimp with black bean sauce. The soup portion is huge, but was a little watery. The XO string beans were good, but nothing crazy. The pork and shrimp were really flavorful & probably one of the best I've tried anywhere. We've ate here multiple times. It's not worth it. The stupid lady hovers over you when you pay and insists for a certain amount for tip. Since the rewards credit covers some of the bill and when they charge the cc it's always lower than the actual bill so the pre-printed gratuity is less than what the actual bill is. We were brought water that was room temperature and were not asked if we would like anything else to drink.
