As often happens we forgot our grinder on this vacation, so after a big hike our second stop was a local head shop to correct that. When we entered What You Want we were floored by the selection, there was beautiful glasswork everywhere we looked. Then we were greeted by some of the best service I could ask for. Unfortunately we did not get the name of the employee who helped us, but she explained the relationship the store has with many local artisans. This knowledgeable employee's assistance made visiting this shop feel like part of the requisite sightseeing we were in for as vacationers. I parked next to Dee's shop bc I wanted to gawk at the dope handpainted Star Wars station wagon her neighbor has. Turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made in a long time! I was looking for a pipe anyways so I walked in her shop after she told me all about the Star Wars Car. She didn't upsell or push, just brought out her recommendations (made by local artists!). She has an expansive stock of gorgeously made glass, as well as novelty pieces -- you'll definitely find something that calls to you here. I ended up vibing with a pipe from a local blower and was pleasantly surprised to find it priced reasonably at $45. Regardless of the actual purchase made, I recommend visiting because Dee (and her doggy) is the kind of genuine, warm, no-fuxx-given person we all need in our lives. She told us stories about her former life growing up in the Bay Area of CA, gave insightful gardening tips, and laughed constantly. She couldn't have known it, but I've been mourning two friends passing away and in every possible way Dee was a nourishment to my heart. She has a light within her and she's not afraid to share it! This review is long overdue, but when a friend recently traveled to Sedona it dawned on me that one of the most memorable shops I visited was a place I never reviewed - shame on me! Back in February of 2016 I decided to drive from Bakersfield to Tucson, up through Phoenix and Sedona and back to home, taking the famous Route 66. It was a wonderful experience and driving was part of that. I had recently lost my mother and was coming off taking a lot of Xanax and Ambien. I was mostly worried about becoming addicted, so I weaned myself. My inability to sleep was the worst part, and I certainly wasn't about to go back to Ambien. I expressed this to a coworker who kindly brought some homegrown mj to me, complete with a cheapie sneak-a-toke. I brought it with me on my trip and found that I just couldn't handle the smoke. Another friend recommended I try a water pipe. I wasn't sure where in Arizona I would find one, but had some time to explore this shop while in Sedona. I relayed the entire story over to the kind shop attendant who introduced me to a nice purse-sized water pipe. He explained that cold water would help with the throat burn - colder the better. For $45 I was on my way, happy with my little souvenir. I still have this little guy, although I don't really smoke anymore. He's been through alot and still looks great. It's fun to recount my experience here and have a nice souvenir of my Arizona travels to boot. read more

All my questions in life were answered in this smoke shop called What You Want. Not only did I get what I wanted......I got what I needed. I bought a pipe that I know I will use for the rest of my life. The elegantly hand blown, green glass bowl perfectly caresses in my hand, my palm. The mouthpiece fits effortlessly around my lips.
