I was seated outside next to a delightful courtyard in shade with soft, warm breezes. I had the Prix Fixe menu, selecting Chilean Sea Bass as my entree. The meal actually begins with 3 slices of multigrain bread and 3 sectioned tray - olive tapanade, pesto and garlic-flavored olive oil. I really enjoyed the rich-tasting bread and the tapanade. The first course was the lobster bisque. This is not only a refined and tasty soup but there are many chunks of lobster meat (whoa). The bisque also has a slightly sweet and rich taste. The main course was Chilean Sea Bass. The well-grilled fish was placed on yummy garlic mashed potatoes. Also, gracing the plate were fresh green beans and a tasty choice of delectable dipping sauces for the fish. The final (dessert) course was Triple Cream Brie Cheesecake. My only issue, I had bits of the tree in my hair, my water, my drink and my dinner. Our waiter Joshua was fantastic, a warm, gracious pro. PERFECT!! We started with the bone marrow appetizer. Maybe the best I've had at a restaurant. Came topped with a piping of mashed potatoes and bread crumbs. Perfectly cooked and served with toasted brioche bread, smoked sea salt and a bacon marmalade. It was delicious and huge. My only thoughts on making it perfect...Go ahead and salt your marrow in the kitchen and add another slice of toast. You are serving two big marrow bones, so don't be stingy with a piece of toast. All that said, this app was highlight of dinner. My daughter opted for another appetizer as her entree. She had the Spanish style garlic chili shrimp in butter. Looked huge and she said it was over the top fabulous. (I'm allergic to shellfish so I just took her word) She added some duck fat fries which were fine, but not great. I had the mushroom strudel and it was okay but frankly pretty underwhelming. Think it had been pre-made, filling was blah, flakey pastry was not, and highlight was a plucky little pepper sauce that was delicious but didn't really go with the main dish. It screamed for a nice cream sauce, and some butter in the filling. I love mushrooms as a main and this poor little pastry looked and tasted like a hot pocket. Now back to the positives. The dark chocolate soufflé with homemade crème anglaise is lovely and well worth it . My daughter also loved the prickly pear margaritas. All in all, really nice experience and meal. The kitchen obviously functions well and service is perfect. A few tweaks on the menu and this place is stellar. Even now, a Great special occasion restaurant and the location and lovely service made it special for us.
