I've always been skeptical of car shops based on my personal experiences and people's stories. What do I look for in a car shop? Honesty, inexpensive prices, and great service. This car shop definitely delivers. From the time I spoke with Matt on the phone to having my car inspected, it had been nothing but a pleasant experience. The cost isn't exorbitant either. The office isn't a big place, but they have four waiting chairs, free Wi-Fi, and a water cooler. I scheduled a 10:30am appointment on a Wednesday but had to delay it by an hour due to travel time and a full schedule. They were very accommodating in still seeing my car. Apparently, I picked the worst day to come get my car checked out because it was raining heavily of cats and dogs. Matt drove my car into the shop at the end so that I don't have to walk in the rain. How nice of him! Plus, no one wants to see eye liner streaks running down my face anyway. read more

These guys are great! Very trustworthy, very fair priced, and they will educate you on what they do, how they do things and why. You won't leave with unanswered questions or feeling like you don't know what you're paying for. They worked on my old pathfinder until it was time to get a new vehicle. Now that I have a brand new vehicle, they help me with modifications on my Wrangler that I either don't have time to do myself or know how to do. Have to agree with the other five star reviews, Matt and Wheatland Automotive are cost-effective and honest. Very conveniently located too, especially for those of us west of Route 59 and south of 75th street. (Right across from the Metra Park & Ride lot at 91st street and Normantown Road.) My niece and I have both found Matt to be very informative and, when appropriate, he will also research cost-effective replacement parts. Most recently, Matt gave me peace of mind by providing a second opinion on a potentially expensive engine oil pan gasket leak I was advised of by an oil change tech at another local (unnamed) business. The Result? Matt said he found no evidence of any leak or any trace of oil on the exterior of the pan. In fact, he said it's not often he sees such a clean pan exterior on a ten year-old car! They talked to her like a person and did not talk down to her because she was a woman, they explained everything so that she was able to understand, answered all her questions and addressed her concerns so that she could explain it to me on the phone later. Matt called twice to explain findings and possible solutions and then surpassed my expectation on repair time in getting my car ready for pickup. If you are sick of dealing with shady mechanics and overpriced dealerships, go to Matt at this place. Matt treated me with respect and took the time to explain everything that needed fixing which allowed me to make a confident decision about fixing my car. Before going to Wheatland, I went to the dealership. The dealer told me my car didn't have many miles left at 140,000 miles and tried to get me to trade my car in and get a new car. Matt checked my car and told me my car was still in great condition. I use to only take my car to the dealership, but when Matt told me he could fix everything for half of what the dealership wanted, I realized I had been overcharged all those years. Can't say enough about these guys. Rave to my friends about them all the time. Like a good doctor, everyone needs a good mechanic, and these guys are it. I work with Matt and he's fantastic to work with. Recently, my neighbor told me how she went to Firestone and they quoted her over $7000 in repairs for every little thing (been there and had the same done to me), not here though. Matt is going to tell you exactly what's needs to be repaired, and any other stuff they see, he'll give you the priority too. Might tell you that you have a worn belt but no need to repair for another 6 months to a year. Seriously, who else does that. Honesty! Key component missing in most shops. Also repairs are very affordable. AFFORDABILITY! Another key component! I don't go anywhere else to get quotes now, but I did before, and these guys were always the best. Ok, here's the rub, everyone is starting to hear how great they are and now it sometimes takes a few days before they can see you.
