Today I had a tire that had been punctured and needed another tire, and once again they took very good care of me. One thing I have noticed about Omega Tires over the years is something you do not find everywhere. The moment a customer walks through the door, someone acknowledges them and says hello. You are not left standing there wondering whether anyone has noticed you or is going to help you. They make you feel welcome from the moment you come in. I don't know a great deal about cars, tires, or motor vehicles, but I do know when I am being treated respectfully and fairly. I have always felt that Omega Tires treats me honestly and fairly. I have never felt taken advantage of, and I have confidence that what I am being charged for is what I actually need. I have never been unhappy with any tire Omega Tires has sold me, and I have never felt that I overpaid. I have always felt that I received good value for my money. Eddie, the manager, is always so nice. I really cannot think of anything negative to say about him. He treats customers with respect and even makes a point of asking whether you are comfortable while you are waiting. When I left today, he said, We'll see you later. It's a small thing, but that kind of friendliness makes a difference. Flo, who works out in the garage area, is also very nice and treated me very well. Another thing I appreciate is that the wait is not long. Even when they have several customers, they do a very good job of getting people taken care of without making them wait unnecessarily. After going to Omega Tires for years, I wouldn't think of going anywhere else for my tires. So I'm talking with a very attractive woman named Jackie about the process of my repair needs and a gentleman who is also speaking with me comes outside to have a look at the damage from the storm to my tri fold cover. Little did I know I was speaking to the owner himself. A very humble down to earth good hearted man whom like myself love vintage cars. As we were talking about the repair and vintage cars I ended up getting an impromptu tour to his ENORMOUS facility that was beyond impressive! I mean this place has everything!! All of his staff are professional and very seasoned in their craft. I'm very particular about who I allow to fix my vehicle and Hwy 280 paint and body has earned my business! 1 Star…read more Unfortunately, after using Highway 280 Paint & Body three different times, this will be my last. Our 2022 GMC Yukon was damaged by a deer on June 9. We brought it to Highway 280 Paint & Body in mid-June, and they inspected the vehicle and determined that the damaged door would need to be replaced. After filing the claim with Progressive, we had a three-way phone call with our insurance adjuster and the manager at Highway 280 Paint & Body. During that call, we specifically scheduled a date to drop the Yukon off for repairs. The appointment was made roughly two weeks in advance, giving the shop time to prepare for the vehicle and the repair. We dropped the Yukon off on July 20 as scheduled. When we arrived, the manager acted as though he wasn't expecting the vehicle and said he didn't have the insurance estimate. I pulled it up and sent it to him while standing there. The Yukon then sat at the shop for more than a month. During that time, we received different explanations about what they were waiting on--parts, emblems, insurance approval, and eventually that the door needed to be replaced, even though they were the ones who told us in June that the door needed replacing in the first place. After more than a month, we learned that the vehicle had essentially sat there and wasn't actually being worked on until last week. Even then, the repair was still not completed. My biggest issue isn't simply that the repair took longer than expected. Things happen, parts get delayed, and insurance companies can slow down repairs. My issue is the lack of communication, organization, accountability, and urgency throughout this entire process. We scheduled this repair in advance. They knew what vehicle was coming, knew what the damage was, and knew a door replacement was needed. Meanwhile, our insurance rental coverage was running out while our vehicle sat at their shop. I finally asked them to put our Yukon back together so we could pick it up and take it somewhere else. After being a repeat customer, I hate that this is the experience that caused me to leave a one-star review. But based on the way this repair was handled, I cannot recommend Highway 280 Paint & Body. The entire operation felt extremely disorganized, and the customer service and communication were nowhere near what I would expect from a professional body shop. If you're considering having work done here, I would strongly recommend asking very specific questions about when your vehicle will actually be worked on--not simply when they can accept it and let it sit on their property.

I am so disappointed. In all my years of living in Birmingham this is the worst car repair…read moreexperience I have had. These guys are the full price specialists. Watch out the service manager really run up a repair. The owner was unsympathetic and acted like he had better things to do than listen to my concerns. I needed my truck fixed. Their initial quote was higher than another by $140. They have a great looking building on the outside and I assumed I was paying for top notch work. They assured the truck's return later that afternoon, knowing I needed the vehicle for work. They called back and suggested a radiator on top of the requested water pump. They said it would be cheaper to do both. My radiator was working fine, but it was older and I should replace it now. Next, they acted like it was a real challenge for them to fix my vehicle. They had a hard time locating a GM radiator and then kept it through the weekend and again all day Monday. They literally charged me 3 times what it would be from a wholesaler. For a common Chevy radiator, they acted like they did me a favor finding one for $500. I went to them looking for my new repair shop. I feel like they took advantage of me being in a hurry to get it fixed and they lost a potential solid customer. Oddly, they told me my temperature gauge was broken when I went to pick it up. I had already told them to allow the motor to warm up properly. Apparently they didn't bother, the gauge works just fine, but they wouldn't put the time in to really check. Next they accused me of trying to get the gauge fixed for free by lying that it worked when I brought it in. I was flabbergasted, I had to pay a premium price for their late repair, then I got called a liar because they wouldn't even bother warm up the motor on a new radiator installation. I bet they are good mechanics, when they want to be, but they mishandled my repair, wasted my time, and then demanded top dollar after admitting they had no idea how to get my gauge working. They repeatedly told me the diagnostic machine didn't give them an answer so they couldn't fix it. The owner basically called me a liar when actually they were not very thorough with their assessment. Who tells a client you broke his gauge, can't fix it, call him dishonest and then still be wrong about the gauge even being broke? They have lousy people skills and I can only assume they are lazy mechanics. They still have no idea that my temperature gauge works and they just let me leave upset. They offered me no compromise of any kind.

No. Have I ever had to return to have something re-fixed? Yes. Then, why would I speak so highly of 'em and continue to return with all six of our personal and commercial vehicles? At Auto & Truck Services, aside from a very qualified crew, you'll find the definition of character wrapped up with dependability, honesty and impeccable integrity. The heart and soul of the crew is husband and wife team, Norman & Grace, who have served the town of Birmingham for decades. So, when you see that those rates might be a little higher, understand you get what you pay for. When mistakes are made causing you to have to return, know that they stand behind their work. Lastly, there are endless variations of vehicles, makes, and models. Computer systems and software change with the seasons on the heels of the endless government regulations for emissions, amongst other things. ~Have some grace!
