I have bought at least 4 sets of tires through Discount Tire. My past experiences have been reasonably good, but this latest set has tested me. I originally somewhat reluctantly purchased a set of Cooper tires knowing a 30 day free exchange warranty was offered. After riding on them for about 2 weeks I decided the ride was too much of an off-road feel where as I was prioritizing a highway ride. I elected to pursue the exchange. Moving to a tire listed at $20 per tire more resulted in a proposed added cost of $500. I looked closer at the breakdown and learned that in addition to the expected $80plus tax, I was to be charged for: 1) a new tire warranty. I was told at this time that the previous tire warranty I purchased for $25 per tire or 15% of new tire cost was non-transferable. Not only non-transferable but also non-refundable. This is probably covered in the miles of pages of terms and conditions but wasn't made clear to me. 2) The tire balance and mount which the company website stated should be waived was not. 3) To make the change, I had to waive the new tire warranty that would have added $35/tire or an increase of $140. A business that advertises honesty isnt as transparent with their advertising as expected. I'll be looking elsewhere for my next tires. read more

First time in the store. Had a screw in my run-flat tire. They fixed it with no charge! They had great personable service personnel. They earned my business with this good personal service. When your car is there they send you an email with a link that allows you to follow your car's progress in the service and estimated completion time, which since I was waiting for my car, was handy. I have used TireRack to buy tires in the past and since Discount Tire owns TireRack, I think I'll have the benefit of good selection (through Tire Rack) coupled with a more integrated and streamlined service on installing the tires. They tried to scam me into buying 2 new tires that I did not need. I had a nail in my tire and took it to them to repair. They inspected ALL the tires on my car and said it should not be a problem. Then I waited over an hour until a tech came and found me and told me the tire was too damaged to repair. Then he took me to the counter where another guy told me they do not have my tire in stock. He said they could put a larger tire on, but I would need to buy 2 to balance. i told them my tires were less than a year old and there was no way I could replace 2 for no reason. I asked them to just put my spare on the car. They told me it was probably no good to do that because my car is a 2019 and it would probably be too damaged/old to put on the car. I asked if they could just put my tire back on and then I would take it back to Walmart because if it was too damaged for repair, the tire is under warranty and they would replace it. They said they could not do that. So basically they were holding my car hostage until I bought tires from them. I told them to put my spare on my car so I could leave. He told me he would inspect it and see if it was okay. They finally did, because of course my spare tire was completely fine. I took my car back to Walmart the next day. I told them I had a nail in my tire and I may need a new tire and asked them if they would look at it. They plugged the tire, said there was no issue or reason the tire could not be plugged, and sent me on my way. Discount Tires tries to scam women into buying tires they do not need. read more

I needed trailer tires ASAP as we're traveling around the country and have a schedule to keep. I drove 2+ hours 1 way to get my tires and glad I did. Called the day before and they didn't have what I was asking for. Asked if they had anything else and they did....a better tire and I was stoked!! Ask them to hold the tires a day and they did. I had an issue getting a tire of and ruined 3 lug nuts. I asked if I could buy some from them but they gave me some replacements for free..... great job guys. read more

I got up Saturday to discover I had a flat tire, there was a screw stuck in my tire. AAA came out and put the spare on. I went to Discount Tires today and received excellent service and there was no charge for fixing my flat tire. The employee that helped me was Slade and he was very professional and polite. I would certainly recommend Discount Tires to my friends and family. Discount Tires on Hwy 280 is amazing!! Had an appointment at 11:45 for a tire rotation and to check a tire that was low. The guys at discount tire are so helpful and knowledgeable. I got there early after dropping my daughter off at work. They looked at my car even before the appointment time and rotated the tires, then found a nail in one and was able to plug/patch it. ( They did that for free!) We really trust the staff at discount tires. They do a great job and talk you through your options. They have worked on all of our cars in the family. Immaculate customer service. I was long overdue for a rotation and replacement on my tires so I ended up with a flat tire a little down the road. Josh at the front desk was extremely helpful and informative once I got there. He made it a point to show me visually what was wrong with each part on the tires. These guys are great. Bought some tires from Tire Rack and had them shipped there for mounting. My car is a BMW M3 and has larger rear tires and wheels than the front. I was a bit concerned if they had experience with similar high performance cars with similar tire setups. When I got there, they had a Corvette ZO6 and an ARC Viper in their shop. My concerns with their experience vanished. I also was mentally prepared for the upsell of various things they typically would say that need to be done. I experienced none of that. Their waiting room was large, comfortable, had wi-fi, power outlets, and a large window into the bays were you could watch your car being worked on. I had an appointment at 10 and they had my car on the lift by 10:10. I was out of there in about an hour. No problems. Tires were perfectly balanced. They even added a bit of tire dressing to make them look good. I read the reviews of various local installers that Tire Rack recommended and Discount Tire had by far the best reviews AND the lowest price for the install. I was very impressed. read more

I have never had my car troubles handled to efficiently. Like many in the Birmingham community, I found a nail in my tire due to local construction. I called the facility when they opened at 8am to be told their first available appointment would be 12:45pm that day or I could walk-in to wait for an appointment. I chose to walk-in for fear of something worse happening to the car if I did not take care of it ASAP. I was in and out of the store in less than 30 minutes with not only a patched tire, but all of my other wheels had refilled air as well. I was lucky enough to come here to get a tire patched because it was conveniently located. Come to find out they will patch your tire for free!! "We would rather see you be safe on the road," was the mechanic's comment as he handed me back my key! :) Not only that but I came around 12 pm without an appointment, and they got my tire done in under an hour. read more

Customer Service was fantastic! We called yesterday and had a tire ordered after 5:00 PM and it arrived before 10:00 AM today. We went in at 5:30 PM and we're able to get our tire replaced quick after a blowout over the weekend. Sam and his tire technicians were tentative, knowledgeable, courteous AND stayed late to assist us and make sure everything was done and done right. They even added air to our other tires and provided access to check on our tire tread as we did not need to replace the other three at this time. 10/10 - Great job guys! read more

If you have any vehicle with tires outside the parameter of oem this is not the place for you. If you have a heavy duty truck don't waste your time. They will not install anything other than an oem tire size. If you have a f250 2500hd or ram and want a bigger tire go elsewhere. Too many attorneys working for them and they only do oem. Terrible service! Mounted tires wrong, log miles wrong adding 40k to brand new tires on my receipt. On return the new person noticed no way in four day we could went from 115k to 155k. Then within another four months tires didnt look new at all. Over half tread was gone. After consulting tech said number on tire was the manufactor date which is three months after my purchase. Never ship direct from Tire Rack again and never deal with discount tires again! read more

Top notch service, immaculately clean in the lobby, and even in the service area (I don't understand how they manage that). So if you don't like dirty, greasy tire shops, this is your place. I felt the prices were overall fair. Be aware there is a "tire certificate" add-on cost. Mine came to about $11.00 per tire. This is like a tire repair/replacement warranty, which I think covers flats and things like that also. Good for peace of mind. Lastly, they gave me a 45 minute repair window, and guess what - right on the money! Very easy process. The service advisor was great. I will never, ever, ever, ever shop anywhere else. I had the WORST experience after spending over $1,300 with a competitor. I refused to be taken again. A simple google search yielded this as a result. Went in and made a request for a particular brand of tire, that had to be ordered. It was in within a day. Called to get replaced, was able to get an appointment almost immediately. Limited contact, stayed in my car while it was put on. The manager was very friendly and accommodating. Just an all around nice guy. The service was superb and the prices are comparable. Before I left I told him that I would never shop anywhere else and I mean it! If you're looking, start HERE!
