Don't waste your time here. I used them for years for service and they used to be a good shop. Not anymore. Last few experiences have just continued to go downhill. I've called ahead to make sure they would have tires in stock only to get a phone call after they have had my vehicle all day saying they don't have my tires. I've tried to call ahead for an appointment to make sure they could service my vehicle the day I bring it in, but they won't take appointments. Instead they over book and then can't get to everything they have taken in and have to keep vehicles overnight for what should have been same day service. Then when people come in for an oil change or service the guys at the front counter laugh and think it's funny they are two days behind and can't get to your vehicle that day even though they said bring it in. I just watched 6 people who got there before the shop opened to be sure they were first in line for the day turn around and walk out because the guy at the counter said they couldn't get to it. Even something as simple as an oil change. Completely mismanaged. Save yourself the headache and wasted time and go somewhere else that will take appointments and deliver on what they have promised. read more

They fixed the problem at a reasonable price in a timely manner. They were super accommodating. I couldn't be happier with the service. They are now my go-to mechanic shop in Birmingham. I have always found honest repair opinions and costs at Auto Whiz. As an example, I was told my flat tire could not be plugged by one tire dealer, so I had it inflated and limped it down to 280 and Auto Whiz. They said it was repairable. They did the work and the repair lasted until that set of tires finally wore out. read more

I only stopped by here for a second on a Saturday morning a few minutes till 8. I had intended to get my oil changed. However, the place opened at 7:30, and there was already a long queue! The gentleman at the desk stated my car probably wouldn't be done till noon due to the customers ahead of me. He was so nice that I definitely want to go back. Will update the review when I do! I've been having my car service here for years and have had a consistently wonderful experience. For example, I brought my car to a different auto shop when I was out of town and they gave me a long list of work that needed to be done. I came back to Auto Whiz and gave them the list and they informed me that only ONE of the things the other auto shop recommended actually needed to be addressed. They could have very easily lied to me - like the other auto shop - but they didn't! This place is great; you can trust them with your car. This is the best place on 280 to get an oil change. I always changed my own. Had to get an oil change in a hurry before a road trip and went to Auto Whiz on a friend's suggestion. It's about $5 more than going to the parts store and doing it myself. They won my business. Very friendly with no upselling or BS you get at the oil change chains. They are the best. We were in Alabama for a basketball tournament and my alternator needed to be replaced. They fixed my car right away. When we left in the morning we saw a warning light on the dashboard of our vehicle so when we saw Goodyear (Auto Whiz) across the street we took it right over. They immediately took it back and gave it a complete test to see if it was just the tires (change in temperature from up north) or something else and were very friendly and professional. Well, I was referred to Auto Whiz by Walmart auto shop that had changed my oil and filter and didn't tighten the bolts on the skid pan below the car and caused for it to fall and be damaged, After a failed attempt by Walmart to correct the problem for the 2nd time, I was sent to Auto whiz. after three days of having the car at Auto whiz, I called inquiring about my car and I was told it was ready to pick up. As I drove away less than a mile the bottom skid pan fell out of place scraping the pavement! I called and drove the care back to their shop. I was told they will get on it the next day. After two days i called to find out when the car will be ready and they said the part is being over night-ed and will be ready the next day. So, next day before they close I called with the same question and was told again the same answer... and still waiting. So a week is gone by tomorrow on a problem that shouldn't had to begin with and you would think they will test drive the car before they turn it in to the customer. So, I will leave it at that for readers to decide.... read more
