I went there to do a tire change, which was poorly and improperly done, as the wheels are now off-balance, and my steering wheel shakes uncontrollably when I am driving on the highways. Even worse, this business is being investigated by the Attorney General's office, Bureau of Consumer Protection, and the PA Department of State Licensing, for fraudulent transactions and activity. During my change of 4 tires, after stripping my car of the original tires, a service representative deceptively informed me that my lugs needed changing for them to go any further. He quoted an additional $350 without giving me an itemized breakdown. Left with no choice, as this is my only vehicle, I reluctantly acquiesced so he would return my vehicle. Little did I know that this was a tactic that the business commonly employs so they can hold your vehicle hostage. Upon retrieval of my vehicle, I noticed that he charged my credit card in the amount of $352.xx instead of $350. More red flags were immediately presented at that point. (This was reported to the attorney general's office, as it became clear that he arbitrarily entered numbers on the invoice (such as a labor rate of $100 per hour) in an effort to closely approximate the $350, he initially quoted). Disturbingly, after damaging the vehicle's sensor during their incompetent and reckless work, they did not even have the common courtesy to inform me that three warning lights were now on the vehicle: VDC, ABS, and SLIP. This damage has now compromised the safety of the vehicle. They have adamantly refused to correct these damages which has resulted in investigations and sanctions by various state and city agencies.

After checking out my car, Henry at Floyd and Diann's did what Mavis Discount Tires would not and that was offer me a reasonable and affordable solution. Mavis would rather gauge me to the tune of 700.00 and also open a line of credit to knock 50.00 off. Instead I got two tires, one new, one used and a back one that was still in good condition rotated for 160.00. The only downside was they are a cash only business and I had to scramble to find an atm. But the service was friendly, fast and there were chairs on the curb to sit in while you wait.

Someone came over with me to take a look and they helped me get the spare changed until a new tire could be ordered. They did not need to stop their work to help me, especially when I was not even parked in their lot. it says a lot about them!! most recently, winter storms and ice caused major damage to my hybrid vehicle's battery and additionally, AAA caused extra damage when I called for a jump, and they handled it incorrectly. Fountain Street accepted a tow on a Friday during this time when they had 0 appointments available for 3 weeks. Anthony was able to get my battery replaced, and they kept my vehicle over the weekend so they could address the electrical issues that were not there before the battery was dead/AAA caused damage. I had my car back that Wednesday. I am a single female living close by in Manayunk for the last 10 years, and I am disappointed to have ever used any other shop. I will absolutely be switching to regular service with these guys. They are kind, laid back, and in my case, made me feel confident they could handle the issues rather than causing me more stress over the unknown. That is invaluable service to me and not easy to find!

I thought this was the issue. I called on Tuesday morning to get an estimated time to pick up my car I was told 3pm. I arrived on time at 3pm since I had to get to work that evening, I was charged for the tie rod and sent on my way. Driving back home, I noticed the humming sound was still there and even louder. I looked at the repair bill and it stayed that the humming sound was possibly from the rear differential and could cost upwards of 2k dollars, I was shocked they didn't tell me this in person when I picked up the car. I called to get more information on this and they told me they could not exactly point out the source of the humming sound and that they were only 70% sure it was the rear differential. For 2k I wasn't sure if I could trust them to do the repairs given my experience so far. I'm very disappointed with the lack of communication and lack of solution finding to the problem I walked in with. About an hour later, I didn't feel safe with the car driving as is and called back asking to go ahead with the rear differential repair. They told me that they will shop around for parts and give me a call back. It is now Thursday and have not heard back from the shop. Terrible service. Go somewhere else
