Blew Me Away Everything Was a Hit This place absolutely blew me away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was amazing perfect dinner hangout or date spot. Great vibe without trying too hard.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food? Incredible across the board. I'm not even a big fish guy, but I got the fish and chips and loved it. That alone says a lot. Spinach dip loved it. Fish tacos loved them. Dessert loved it. Beer loved it. There's a ton of variety on the menu, and everything we tried delivered. That kind of consistency is rare. Service was over-the-top good. Attentive, friendly, and added to the whole experience. Price felt exactly right for a date night spot not cheap, but definitely worth it for the quality. Couldn't be happier with this one. I'll absolutely be back. Overall: Easy 5/5 no hesitation.

Our server was very friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was casual.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was so excited about the salmon with quinoa. I was happy to have the option to get the salmon well done. It had very little flavor. I had the spring salad to go. It was very good. My friend had a sandwich with Cole slaw. She enjoyed her meal. We all had the basil lemonade. It was good

Table for 2 for Lunch We were shopping in the area and did a quick Internet search for lunch and found Wheelhouse Craft Pub and Kitchen. We had been in this part of Decatur many times and I never heard of it. We took the quick 5 minute ride over and I realized we had passed it many times. I think it had a different name last I noticed. As we approached I noticed the nice sized parking lot. A quick estimate, it could hold about 40 - 50 cars. I quickly found an open spot and walked over to the entrance. We entered and I could see the host walking toward us. He greeted us warmly, we let him know we were a party of 2 and preferred to sit outside. He informed us we could head out there and pick our own seat. We walked through the dark interior and headed outside using the side door. We found a table at the end of the patio near the front of the restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was plenty of outside seating on their patio and many of the tables were covered or had an umbrella.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was a little cooler than I expected so I ran back over to the car to pick up my jacket. I returned to the table and our friendly server came by and asked if we were ready to order. We were happy to see they had an extensive beer menu and I chose the Hi-Pitch Mosaic IPA from Hi-Wire brewing and Wifey ordered the Harp Lager. For food, we kept it simple and decided to share the Pork Nachos appetizer. Our waters came out next, and then the beers came out soon after. As we were hanging around and enjoying the patio I noticed the place was very dog friendly. The Pork Nachos arrived and were excellent. It was not a huge portion, but the perfect size for what we were looking for. The chips were crispy and the pulled pork was seasoned well. All the ingredients worked well together. We would definitely recommend the nachos if you visit Wheelhouse. Overall, this was a very good experience during our 1st visit here and we will definitely return when in the area.

To be honest, the food here didn't give me instantaneous wow vibes since pub-style food isn't really that inventive or creative enough to amaze me. Poutine: I've had poutine at various places now, and I must say this place had the best version. There was the right amount of cheese curds and gravy. The fries were the perfect crispy texture. And because the gravy was the right amount, the fries stayed crispy versus become soggy. There was plenty of the Guinness braised beef so it was a nice ratio of protein and carb. There's definitely a ton of meat for this pick so it's a pretty good deal. Nashville chicken with and addition of pimento cheese: Surprisingly, the the sandwich wasn't really spicy at all. There was a slight kick, but that was about it. If you're hesitant about ordering this because you're afraid of the spice level, it's really more like mild on the spicy scale. I'm not one to eat much spicy food, and it was fine to my palette. The hubs thought Nashville chicken would be really spicy, but it's really not so. Go ahead. Order it. :) The addition of the pimento cheese was so heavenly delicious. It made the sandwich more progressively messy to consume, but it was so much more hardy and scrumptious! If you love cheese, take the leap! Crispy brussels: These were pretty tasty and actually crispy. Getting brussel sprouts crispy on the exterior and cooked well for the interior is actually a hard balance to achieve. I usually don't gravitate towards vegetables, but these were on point with a slight char.

FR 2026: [[HIGHLIGHT]]You gotta love cozy, pub-like restaurants! This was a nice find close to my work.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will say parking can be dicey, and leaving here can be rough if you're trying to take a left. I had zero expectations coming here and left feeling like I found a diamond in the rough. I've been here 3 times now and have settled on the fish and chips, along with the Weihenstephaner Hefe on draft. The fish has flaked perfectly every time! The crispy cauliflower bites are also very good! It's not an overpriced place and menu options are a step above typical bar food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing, and they aren't trying to do too much to impress.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great outdoor seating when the weather is right![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As long as they keep the German hefe on tap, I will find myself coming back here often while I work in the area.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Solid neighborhood spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Had a party of 4 and was immediately seated inside around 7:30pm on a Friday. I had the fish sandwich with Brussels sprouts. I also got to taste the fries which were great. Overall, everyone at the table enjoyed their food and our waitress was nice and attentive but not overbearing. Parking: free private lot

First. Gabbi was our server and she was super nice and attentive. my son had fish tacos with house made chips and they were great. nachos were good. could have used a bit more meat but no issues. fish and chips was good but it seemed like a lot of fried batter but not a lot of fish but we are definitely open to trying again. i'd like to try their deviled eggs. [[HIGHLIGHT]]bar atmosphere with plenty of seating for groups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] oh yeah. Cole slaw was really good as was the tarter sauce.

This place was GOOD!! Came in after a long day and it was so nice to come in and try this place while in town. Parking is limited and tight. The seating is all FCFS and open to choose yourself. When we arrived we got the last booth. Lost 1 star due to service but food was fantastic. We shared a few apps and each got a bowl of the leek soup. The cauliflower bites were absolutely delicious and my fav!! I think they would be better with ranch for dipping rather than the sweet chili sauce it comes with. Service was lacking. We had finished eating and sat for a long while before the waiter came back to give the check.

Mark and I came here for the first time because he was craving fish and chips and he found the recommendations on Yelp. Our visit was awesome and we still can't believe that we have never dined here before and it's just 15 minutes from our house. Service was friendly and the food was delicious. The dining area is spacious and clean and it reminded us of pubs that we visited on vacation in the UK. The craft cocktails were delicious and we enjoyed multiple rounds. The fish and chips were hot and crispy and satisfying. My grouper sandwich was blackened and had a delicious spicy flavor. The Macken Cheese Balls were scrumptious and I could have eaten double the order. The evening we dined was a theme night for bingo/trivia and it was fun! We had a great time dining here and we are looking forward to coming back during warmer weather to enjoy the terrace!!

During my bi-weekly visit to Atlanta I wanted to pickup lunch before my 2-hour drive back home and discovered Wheelhouse Craft Pub and Kitchen thanks to Yelp. I made a to go order online, the website was user-friendly and easy to navigate. Regardless of your dietary needs there is something on the menu for carnivores, pescatarians and vegetarians. The selection of food was what you would expect from a pub like fish and chips, burgers, wings, sandwiches and some unusual suspects like crispy cauliflower bites and their house Bean Burger. It was hard to decide on what to order but I settled on fish tacos with a side of Brussel Sprouts. Finding the restaurant was a bit of a challenge, I drove past it the first time and had to loop back around. The sign for the restaurant was faded and their tiny parking lot has a small entrance. When I finally made my way into the quaint parking lot thankfully there were spots available it was 3pm on a Sunday afternoon and they were filling up fast. When I walked in the restaurant to grab my order, the restaurant was cozy and casual. The hostess was friendly and handed me my food shortly after arriving. If I had more time I would have definitely dined in and watched a game. Their patio is dog friendly which is always a plus for us dog lovers on nice days. My food was delicious, the cod tacos were fried to perfection and the Brussel Sprouts were prepared well also. I look forward to coming back and trying other menu items.

Warm and welcoming staff. Ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich "extra spicy" however I didn't think it was spicy at all. There was Cole slaw on the sandwich which I thought was fantastic. I even considered just asking for a side of slaw. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Mandy was a pleasure to have as a server. Limited wine options, but plenty of beer choices. Finished the meal with chocolate ganache cake which was exactly what I needed. Consider stopping in if you're in the area!

We really love this place. They have good food, sweet staff and they do trivia nights. I will say their parking lot is a little small so try to carpool. But the food has always been really good brussels sprouts are personally my favorite thing on the menu. The service is fast and the food is good I would definitely recommend

The food was okay. Season would help. But it's a pub what do we expect. Spinach dip was good and creamy. Brussels were just roasted no seasoning. :( The lava cake was the best thing. Nashville Hot chicken was average not hot. Seared salmon lacked flavor. It's somebody's vibe just not ours.

Got a text back saying they don't take reservations, it's first come, first serve, but they would do what they could to accomodate us. 4 of us were seated and we had 2 more coming before we wanted to order. The wait staff was attentive, making sure we had our beverages and if we needed anything before the 2 arrived. Once they arrived, the staff gave us a few minutes to make sure the 2 had a chance to look at the menus. We ordered appetizers to start...corn bread, sage fried pierogies and poutine. We weren't sure about the poutine because we didn't see any gravy, we did see the cheese curds on the fries, but once we finally dug in, the gravy was at the bottom. The pierogies were tasty. We asked if they could cut the cornbread so each of us could get a taste, which they did. Corn bread had a toasted texture, and the honey butter was delicious! Everyone ordered something different. One had fish and chips, which would seem to be a likely order for a pub. Their special for the day was a ruben. Another ordered a falafel sandwich, and I think 2 salmon BLT's and then one salad with rainbow trout. Portions were not overwhelming, but we realized that we were full from the appetizers and almost everyone ended up taking most of their main choices in doggie bags (boxes). As time got closer to the festival to start, it did get crowded, but the staff handled the influx of people and people were seated relatively quickly. This was a nice destination as most of the group live a drive from Decatur. Lovely afternoon visit!

The Diablo wasn't spicy like I expected, but it had really great flavor. The garlic aioli was my personal favorite, while the sweet chili BBQ was the crowd favorite around the table. For my meal, I ordered the blackened burger with bacon and jalapeños, plus the kale Caesar salad. Adding the bacon and jalapeños was definitely the right move! The burger was juicy, flavorful, and incredibly filling. The kale Caesar was much larger than I expected, so keep that in mind if you're ordering it as a side. The decor is neighborhood sporty, with an emphasis on Wisconsin (Green Bay Packers and UW Badgers prominent). I'd definitely eat there again.

Nothing bad but nothing great. It's a gaming bar with a simple menu that has burgers and…read moresandwiches. Sharables like nachos. The bartender was nice but I don't remember his name. A huge beer selection which is nice. All types to pick from. I didn't play any of the games but most seemed to be working. Others enjoying themselves with the games available. A small, warm place with outdoor seating as well. I'm not opposed to going again but I'm not necessarily labeling it as a favorite if that makes sense.

On the way to ATL we side tracked to My Parents' Basement in Avondale Estates. Wow it was a big…read moredetour, but also a very interesting stop. This is a community gathering place with pinball machines and a museum or library of old and new comics centered on Superman being the hero. Certainly the bar is a draw and the food menu is vegan friendly. The hush puppies are a treat for everyone to share and the kale and house salads are well liked. An other shareable appetizer was the tortilla chips and a creamy queso. The Smash Burger was a delight without all the greens and a rootbeer that bore the same name...Smash Burger Beer. However, the best was the tater tots that came with three deep fried? Chicken Fingers on the plate. Service was fine and efficient. Wash up and be astounded by the restrooms scenery before you leave. My Parent's Basement was an interesting detour to get to ATL.
