I bought my first car from Frank for my son in the marines. he gave me a great deal. That was 6 years ago and he is still driving that jeep cherokee today. He made sure he took care of us. I took one of my friends who needed a car for his sister. That was 4 years ago. She is still driving that Taurus today. Frank makes sure his cars are in great mechanical and body shape before he sells them. He and his partner Brandan go over them and fix anything that needs to be fixed. 2 weeks ago I bought my SUV from Frank. It's great, I got a great deal and he made sure it was in pristine condition. They really care and they do it right and they stand behind their products. My car comes with a 90 drive train warranty. You don't get that with most of the "small" independent lots. My wife and I have always been skeptical about buying cars from "broker" dealers. We went to our usual new car dealer looking for a car for our 16 year old daughter like we have previously done for our two older daughters. We found nothing we liked on our usual new dealers lot. We checked other new car dealers as well. A mechanic friend of ours told us about Wheels N Deals and told us he knew Brandon and that they were not like typical "broker" dealers. So we checked out there lot, three times in three days. My wife and I selected a car and asked if we could take the car to our mechanic; they did not hesitate in saying yes. So we set it up with our mechanic friend and came by that day to pick up the car and drive it to our mechanic. After a hour of going over the car with a test drive as well, the report was for typical repairs for the type of car we were interested in. We came back to Wheels N Deals and Frank stated they would do the repairs for parts cost. We purchased the car, brought it back a week later for the repairs. Picked up the car a day later. When our friend visited a few days later we had him look at the work done and he said the work was done and correctly. FYI, we purchased a car from our usual new car dealer a year ago for our middle daughter and had to dump over $2k into the car within 9 months of having it. According to our mechanic friend, it shouldn't be the case with this one. If you are looking for a car for your recently licensed teen or need a used car for yourself, this is the place to go. I came to Wheels and Deals to help my daughter's boyfriend buy his first car. He made a big mistake by coming here. He bought a beautiful car. That's about the ONLY good thing I can say about it. He did not even have it for 30 days before he had to get a new battery!! A NEW BATTERY!! Really?! They cannot even put a car on the lot that has a good battery? That's not a good sign of a good dealer. There were other issues unfortunately. Sad to say it cost $650!! NOW, the head gasket is blown!!! That's another COSTLY fix! He now has a great looking paper weight until he can save up the money to fix this issue. Frank and Brandon, do NOT bother to reply to my review. I won't believe a word you say. I cannot trust you and will not listen to any excuse you give me. Sorry, I just do not want to hear anything you have to say on this matter. I should have insisted he wait. I tried to tell him to NOT buy a used car from a dealer like this. But he is young and this was his first car and it is a macho car so I guess he will have to learn the hard way. I should have read the reviews from this site. My suggestion is to bring your own mechanic, one you can trust. He won't bring the car back to this dealer and give them any more money. I do not care for car salesmen as a norm. I grew up around a lot of them in dealerships and such as my father was/is a mechanic. However, I needed a decent used SUV and had been going everywhere looking for one - many many sales folks tried every trick in the book to steer me to more expensive cars that I didn't want. I walked away from many dealerships and small joints. I was just about to bite the bullet and get something far newer that I really didn't want as I wanted to be able to beat up the vehicle when my wife found Wheels N Deals in Crystal Lake. I contacted them via email to tell them what I was interested in the day prior (as I always do) and when I could be expected to show up. Every other dealer I emailed seemed to make sure the car wasn't ready or was not there anymore after telling me it would be ready - Brandon and Frank seemed to be the exception that made my day. All the vehicles were ready to be test driven and the prices were reasonable. As with all used cars - they each had imperfections. I looked at three, drove two, and bought the second one I drove - it was priced above what I wanted to spend and I saw it while on the lot. It was a great SUV, well maintained, and suited for my purposes. It also looks good! Frank worked the price enough that I could swing it easily. The deal went through as simply as could be and the guys were great. I had an issue a few days later with the SUV and they offered the moon to make me happy with it. After getting it checked out by a local trusted mechanic (local to me, not them) - just to make sure - and getting an unnecessary oil change - I discovered that it was user error and have been driving it around happily ever since. I go to Chicago with it a few times a week and use it to move sheet goods and other chunks of wood. It performs beyond expectations - much like the guys at Wheels N Deals. With cars I try to focus on the fellas that work there - used cars are always a gamble as it is a mechanical object that has already been put through the paces by someone else - They will need repair eventually. Frank and Brandon seem to really go over the cars well and make sure they are as mechanically sound as possible. Many things can happen that cannot be foreseen - the warranty offered is excellent for used vehicles and thankfully I didn't need to use it. So, in focusing on the guys - They are top notch and not looking to cheat you. I will buy from them again when my son needs a car in a year and a half. read more

The owner had issue with me questioning and not trusting the integrity of the thorough inspection they claim was done before selling us the car, their claims about the car being safe and reliable and about my by being distraught. He called my husband and was apparently irate. ( Neither of them were there when I went to the shop.) I was not in the least bit out of line. My husband had no idea what happened. I was not abusive, did not yell but I did leave angry and on the verge of tears. I feel strongly that we were deceived and they are not standing behind their claims or product. My husband did not know when he spoke with him that the other man I spoke with told me that its a used car and used cars break down. The man did not offer any apologies, and said nothing to show any concern whatsoever that my son was driving a car that was leaking break fluid, lubricant and oil or that the engine was coated in grease and oil OR that it was rendered un-drivable AGAIN in only two months since we bought it. I don't think he could care any less and wasn't about to back up the company's claims or do anything to rectify the situation. Their claims on their web site are that "All Cars are Safe and Reliable" and "All Cars are 100% Reconditioned" - this was not the case for my son's car. On my son's first day on a new job, he tried to drive his car out of the lot but it made horrendous noises and the wheels locked up, burning the rubber of the locked tires as he tried to re-park it out of the way. We took my son's car to a reputable repair shop and found out that the issues my son has had with his car in the two months since we bought it should have been found had the car actually been thoroughly inspected before it was put on the lot to be sold. We paid them to have the leaks fixed but they apparently were not repaired. Thank God my son's breaks didn't lock up while on the road!! The observation on the breaks is that the lubricant for the breaks was leaking and caused the breaks to 'basically fall apart, locking up the breaks and wheels rendering it un-drivable'. The engine was so coated in grease and oil (which when that bad can cause it to run too hot or possibly ignite) that is not safe car. It had to be steam cleaned and pressure washed and cleaned with a degreaser. The brake fluid was flushed based on visual inspection of failed brake strip test for color and deterioration from moisture; power flushed existing brake hydraulic fluid from all lines and master cylinder reservoir, replaced fluids and checked for leaks. Replaced rear brake shoes, wheel cylinders, hardware, drums - including clean and lube, replaced brake hardware, repacked wheel bearings, adjusted brakes. Again, the claim on their web site is that "All cars are safe and reliable" but my son was driving around in a vehicle with multiple issues and at any time, he could have had a very serious accident because of the loss of those fluids or been caught in a car with a burning engine! They claim that "all cars are 100% Reconditioned". Had that been the case, we would not have had to pay to have my son's car towed TWICE and to have to pay OVER $1,000 to have it and the resulting damage to his breaks repaired, timing belt changed and other issues within the first two months of ownership. The first tow and repair were about two weeks after we paid cash for the car. We paid a lot to get my son a car that was supposed to be "safe and reliable, 100% reconditioned" so he could work and go to college that is so far from what we got. These repairs came to 720.30 this time and we paid Wheels and Deals 306.00 for the first repairs for in addition to the nearly 90.00 we had to pay for towing the first time. So on this "Safe and Reliable, 100% Reconditioned car, we have had to pay out about $1,115.00 in repairs and towing in just the first two months of paying you about $6,000. Then when I went to the shop to ask what was going on and question the reliability of the car and the claim that it was thoroughly inspected and reconditioned, I am told that it is a used car and that happens instead of their people standing behind their claims AND the owner called and harassed my husband about it. The owner was angry at ME for being upset and questioning the safety and 'reconditioning' of my son's car after all this. I stand behind what I have stated as it is all truth and I have filed a complaint with the BBB. read more

Last January, my car was victim to the crazy winter weather that hit the Midwest. I came here and walked out with an '04 Acura TSX. Beautiful car. The guy was sooo sure I would love this car, that he asked me to write a Yelp review about my experience. I was totally happy with my purchase until I took it into my shop for a routine oil change. I was given a laundry list of things that the dealership failed to tell me was wrong with the car. Things I consider kind of important. Among other things, how the car had been in an unreported accident and the car went under it's own kind of reconstructive surgery and some of the original parts had to be replaced. Or how all four breaks needed some serious attention, not to mention the back ones were barely working. I got an almost $2K estimate for all these repairs, took the car back to Wheels N Deals to see if they could help in any way. That was a about a month after the purchase. At this point, I just remember two things. One, when I was told the back breaks are really just "preventative" so there was no reason to worry that much about them. And two, that they could do the work for cheaper and would call me back with an estimate - and then never did. These guys were super nice when we were buying it, not so much when I came back. Buyer Beware! If you're going to read any of their reviews let this be the one. My son is 17 years old and he was buying his first car. We went to Wheels & Deals because we felt confident he would receive a reliable car and they offered a three month warranty. Three months was not enough for the problem his car had. At the three month mark he received an oil change, and six weeks later the car died and would not start. We had it towed to our mechanic and he said the problem was due to lack of oil. We explained that we had an oil change six weeks ago, but they completed another oil change. Due to the car being out of oil caused the timing gear to slip. They realigned it, and told us something was wrong with the engine. Turns out this car is burning oil through the exhaust pipe, and is going through roughly two quarts of oil a week. Our mechanic explained to us to fix this problem is very costly and for us it is uneconomical to repair. I called and talked to Frank at Wheels & Deals and he said there was nothing he could do the car was out of warranty. My son has only had the car for seven months. The car was on the verge of having issues from the beginning, and now we are stuck with a vehicle that he cannot afford to repair. To make matters even worse it just failed the vehicle emissions test. I recently bought a 98 Ford Explorer from Wheels N Deals and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the way I was treated from the moment I drove onto the lot. I was kindly greeted by the owner Frank and test drove a few cars and decided that the Explorer was the car for me! When it was time to do the paperwork (the part I normally dread) the young woman at the front desk was very kind and definetly knew what she was doing when it came to me financing the vehicle. The mechanic, Brandon, assured me the car was in great shape and I would not be dissapointed, and so far so good!! I drove it in the snowstorm yesterday and it ran great and definetly exceeded my expectations! I was in and out of there in to time and left feeling confident in my purchase.
