I was really pleased with their homemade pulled pork and their bbq sauces are great mixed yum!!!…read more A little Tomato bbq and the vinegar one. Delicious. Most of the locals get the potato stuffed with their favorite toppings Want to try their Sunday buffet!! Super friendly staff. They open at 11am. There is a quick wild life drive nearby. I saw a bunch of turtles camped out of rocks while I waited for them to open.

The ribs are dry, tasteless, not falling off the bone tender. I don't know if it's old or leftovers or what. I ordered 2 ordered of ribs and I ate one rib. I had to throw away the rest. I was so disappointed. The catfish was awesome as usual. The brisket was good as well and the stuff potatoes and sides were equally good. I can make ribs at home better than that. I think Famous Dave's is even better. I had ribs from Ruby Tuesday the next night and they were by far more tender, fall of the bone tender with better flavor. My wife reminded me we didn't like the ribs 20 years ago but I had forgotten. What a shame. It was a $150 order and I threw away 2 orders of the ribs. Couldn't eat them. Sorry Dixie Bones, you need to do better with your ribs. - Thank you for responding to my review. I will keep that in mind about the ribs in the future. I appreciated the refund offer. Thank you for responding in a honest and professional manner sir. I'm adding an extra star for that!!!!

They offered it with lettuce, tomato and mayo (bologna burger) but I couldn't imagine that. Size was great, mustard sauce was good, bun was different...and I wanted to love the bologna sandwich thinking it would bring back childhood feel good memories or give me the taste of a hot dog and it didn't. When dipped in the mustard sauce minus the bread it was just ok. They are still in the beginning stages and don't have a full menu of offerings yet. Once they have the smoked wings and vegetable sides (they have fries, baked beans and coleslaw) I will go back and give them another try. Until....

The service is fast, but depending on how many people order before you. I do see a lot of take out order (or pre-order (assuming)). The portion is about right. If you ask me what's the different between big franchise BBQ and local, I think it is the quality of service and time to cook. Depending on your perspective of BBQ, the prices are toward high end. There are many option on the menu, but maybe too many options. The full plates is over $30 with 1/2 lbs meat and two side dishes. Parking is easy to find. Overall great experience. I was hoping they have a brisket w/o the bun.

Dale's Smokehouse was my latest Sunday barbecue adventure, and let me tell you--it did not…read moredisappoint. From the outside, it looked decent enough to warrant a stop, and since it's right next door to Grinder's Seafood (seafood lovers, your review is coming next), I figured why not make the trip worthwhile? When I walked in, three ladies were sitting at a small table, and one immediately got up to greet me and take my order. After checking out the menu, I decided on the rib and chicken platter--which does not come with sides--and the rib dinner with green beans and sweet potatoes. Of course, I couldn't resist adding an extra side of potato salad. While waiting, I took in the atmosphere. Dale's has more of a country store vibe than anything fancy, but that just made me think all the real effort was going straight into the food. And clearly, it was. My order was prepared and packed up quickly, but I didn't get the full experience until I made it home--and MAN! The portion sizes were huge. Definitely enough to get your money's worth. The ribs were tender, the chicken was perfectly charred and seasoned, and the sides absolutely delivered. That potato salad especially? Spot on. Dale's may be tucked away in old Indian Head, but it's absolutely worth the trip. If you're in the mood for hearty portions, flavorful barbecue, and no-frills comfort food, this spot deserves a visit. I'll definitely be back for the pork BBQ. Enjoy!
