Melissa and her team are incredibly talented, professional, and creative! We couldn't be happier with our wedding invitations... they were stunning!!! We came to Melissa with no real idea of what we wanted other than our color scheme. She showed us examples of past products Whimsique had designed and explained ways we could have what we wanted (for the elegance factor we'd hoped for), but stay within our budget. She was even creative enough to reuse a gold stamp she had made for a previous customer, but tailored it to fit our design and initials by combining the stamp and printing together! It turned out perfectly and was very cost effective. Overall throughout the entire process, Melissa's communications were incredibly prompt, detailed, and thorough which I greatly appreciated as we were planning our San Diego wedding from Hawaii and the time difference and distance made it challenging working with many vendors... but Melissa made it easy for us. After ordering our invitations and seeing how incredible they'd turned out (the quality was unbelievable and the delivery presentation when we opened the box was a special touch of class), we decided to add on additional paper products to our order to include signs for our ceremony, name cards, and programs. Once again, Melissa did not disappoint... all of them turned out beautifully. So, if you are looking for someone who is creative, responsive, client-oriented, budget mindful, and genuine, go with Whimsique! You will be so happy you did! Thank you, Melissa and the rest of the Whimsique Team, for making our paper goods so special!

Melissa and the Whimsique team truly went above and beyond for our special day. Melissa not only designed our amazing invitations & save the dates, she also did all the wedding stationery and paper goods such as food&drink menus, table signs, programs, wooden signs, etc and last but not least, our cathedral style wedding altar and seating chart wood board! ALL of them exceeded my husband and I's expectations and were all customized! Melissa helped me bring color to my ideas and knew where to steer me when I was having a hard time explaining my vision or changes to a design. All her designs and works are things we will cherish forever and played the GREATEST role in making our wedding uniquely ours and us! We can't rave enough about the whole process and finished products! If I could leave pictures of it all, I would! Stunning!

We enjoyed working with Melissa so much that we hired her for our day of signage and other stationary needs.

They truly make every visit such a fun and relaxing experience. A special thank you to MJ for going above and beyond. She is one of the sweetest people I've met and generously offered to do a photoshoot for me and my two friends. She even surprised us by making our pottery on the house! It was such a thoughtful gesture that made the entire experience even more memorable Thank you, MJ, for creating such a welcoming space where I've been able to make my Miffy bowl series, with many more pieces to come. As a frequent customer, I'll definitely be back!!

The space is mostly catered to kids, but we saw people of all ages crafting and chatting. On a warmer day, we probably would have sat outside as it can get really crowded inside. We were never bumped, but sometimes kids would run by on their way to get paint. My only other complaint (which is more so my fault) was that we sat at stools at a shorter table so I was hunched over for a while. I'm just old. The staff was really friendly, and I like that there's a BYOB policy. I would probably suggest going later in the evening to avoid all the birthday parties as it was pretty quiet when we came to pick up our piece near closing.

It's located in the Liberty station property which I really enjoy visiting. They offer sewing machines to borrow which was really helpful before committing to your own! Hannah, the class instructor was very informative, friendly, available, and patient. I couldn't have asked for a better instructor! For the class we got to practice on some paper before jumping into our pillow case that we got to pick out a fan pattern and take home! I will be returning back for the part 2 of this class! Lastly, I noticed this company offers more than just sewing! I recommend checking it out to do either individually, with your child, friend, or partner!

And what a huge coincidence that their reply just happened to come right after I left a review for another business, one with a an unhinged owner known for trying to doxx and retaliate reviewers. He mentioned he'd be contacting other businesses I had reviewed negatively, and now -- lo and behold -- here is a reply eleven months later suddenly accusing me of being "disrespectful" instead of taking accountability for the things I mentioned in my review: no air conditioning, hot and muggy, SDCC staff badgering the instructor during the class, and the fact that there are no signs or anything saying where to go once you arrive. What interesting timing!
