I really love their clothes and it's such an amazing brand but the one thing they need to really improve on is their customer service online. I'm not sure if it's bc of Covid but they need to be on top of their emails. I've sent emails inquiring about returns and never received a response. Granted you do receive the refund back but they just don't reply to emails even if you have a question about sizing. They need to be stronger in this area especially during this time and all the time actually. Don't send them direct messages on IG either bc it will go unnoticed and unanswered. The best is to call (which I have) if you have any questions. However there are times when calling is not option but sending an email is. I hope they improve on this area of their customer service in the near future. Looking forward to visiting the store when it's safe to reopen. read more

This is the first time I've ordered from Whimsy + Row, and I am so pleased! The service has been so professional and quick, and even very kind as I had forgotten to check my junk folder when looking for my confirmation email. Ryan was very personable and helpful. The knit scarf arrived today and it is just beautiful! The color name is Lead, but I would say it has just a hint of greenish to it that almost looks like an ocean on a cloudy day. The weave is so pretty and soft, yet looks very sturdy. Perfect for a blustery NY day. If Christmas doesn't hurry up and get here, I may have to just tell my daughter that I decided to keep this beautiful, warm scarf for myself! This is coming from a person with decades of experience knitting many varied and complicated patterns, with every kind of yarn, and I can tell that if I had made this it would have taken many, many hours. Dena (Manager) and Rachel (owner) are wonderful to for help styling mix/match outfits - and my favorite thing about the W+R collection is it functions like a capsule wardrobe that is easy to pair everything with everything for endless outfit options. As someone who's been working in the entrepreneur space for over 10 years, it's certainly a nice feeling to supporting this incredible women-led, local company that sustainability sources fabrics and everyone in the product chain earns a living wage. I've shopped this brand, instore, a few times over lengthy time (2-3yrs) and it just continues to disappoint. fit of garments is poor, and while I respect trying to have a reduced carbon footprint in fashion, how does making BRAND NEW garments do this? (especially products made overseas - not all their clothes are made in LA or USA). wish you would do more recycled clothing (repurposed from existing consumer garments) into your styles, fix your product quality (construction is so poor), fabric choices aren't great and the fit doesn't fit extended sizes at all - needs more inclusivity for sizing. the pants don't fit well at all if you're not a size 2 model - as seen in their social posts. read more

Last Christmas my partner ordered the Isabella jumpsuit for me. To have it on time for the holiday he ordered it ahead of time, not realizing that their return policy was 15 days. By the time I tried it on, it was already too late to exchange or return. The zipper on the side was poorly situated and I couldn't get the jumpsuit on at all. I thought my hips were just too large for the item. My hips are about ~34. Fast forward to me trying to sell the item since my partner is out well over one hundred dollars. The woman I sell the item to lets me know that the company is willing to exchange the item for her since the placement of the zipper was an extremely common issue. It's on me for not reaching out, but I truly don't understand why a poorly designed item of clothing costing over $170 was deemed acceptable to be sold, nor do I understand why returns are only permitted in such a short window. I'm not interested in clothing from this store anymore. Trying to purchase more ethically and instead getting a poorly designed piece of clothing [that left me feeling quite bad about my size] isn't an experience I want to have again. read more

This has been the most disappointing purchase I have ever had. I am always willing to support independent and fair clothes designers and artsy people in general. I shop very little and when I do I go for well-made things. Good reviews and nice webpage with a nice story, made me try this company. First I don't think it's worth the cost, it is made of recycled materials and simple designs, beautiful and hopefully with fair wages, however, I still find it overpriced ( I consider myself an experienced buyer of ethical clothes, after almost 10 years buying them). But my worst experience has been regarding the customs taxes. As a foreign buyer in Scotland, I have had to pay an extra 30 pounds for the item. After 1 week of waiting for a response from Whimsy + Row, they said this information is on their webpage and customers should know this before they buy as it is on their shipping policies. I have encountered this problem before when buying antiques from Etsy and that's fine, but when you buy from an LA-based company selling first-hand luxury clothes, you expect neither this treatment or these policies. I am really disappointed and would never buy from this company again. Also, I hope they change their customer service and policies. Saying "we are a small company" might not be enough for situations like this and greater diligence should be practiced. read more
