Then I get information not for a fridge scheduling but for an AC which I have interest in, but is low on the priority list. I really need this Refrigerator fixed. After waiting until 8, I am told to call the next day. Punch line, can't reach anyone at the number the next day. We run an office with lots of suites. We want to help our tenant out. Told me not to use a vacuum with a brush on hard floors and that stick vacuums (Shark, etc.) would not last long picking up things like bird seed. Recommended a canister unit. He says the warm air from your main compartment is leaking into the ice maker, thus melting the ice. The ice then clumps togather. He says he needs to seal the chamber. Well, he did not have enough sealant. He shows up next day with the appropriate sealant. Finishes the job. Chages me $100+. Well, the problem did not get fixed. Since then, I have called him a half a dozen time and left half a dozen texts. He answered once asking for the model #. That was 3 weeks ago. He is now incommunicado. I am without any ice now for three weeks. IF you just want to throw away some money call him. Otherwise find some reputable company. His flyer says he is BBB member. I am going to notify them. This guy does not even look like a repair man.

In order to get a warranty on a machine that you paid over 10k for, you have to agree to a maintenance plan. That makes some sense, but when you buy a car, you get the warranty. It's unfortunate that they aren't clear on all the hoops you have to jump through to get what I think should be included. The maintenance largely consists of an oil change. Fine, but they want a lot of money for a guy to be there for 20 minutes and change the oil. Again to the car analogy - you pay like $80-$100 for an oil change/check up on a 40K machine. They want $250 yearly (at least) for a 10k machine. Then there's the app - the device is bought and paid for and on your wifi, but if you want the app on your phone - additional charge. The maintenance visits, extra charge. Help during a storm even with the agreement, extra charge. They obviously have a business model that tries to milk you for as much as possible after the sale. I understand that's what a lot of business do, got to keep the revenue flowing - but doesn't mean I have to like it. The installation process takes 6-8 months (at least) from the start to actual installation. Installation itself went smoothly, and like I said, the product itself is well worth it and recommended with the crappy utility service in Ohio. I just wish the company didn't try to nickle and dime the hell out of the customers. I'm sure that Generac probably has something to do with it, but still not pleasant and frustrating dealing with all that.
