It was such a special experience from start to finish! I ordered the Traditional Afternoon Tea, which included a beautiful assortment of finger sandwiches (two of each), including egg salad and chives on a flaky croissant, along with a chef's selection of tea sandwiches that are always prepared daily on imported French bread. My favorite was the one with the salmon. We were also served an assortment of pastries created by Pastry Chef Kim, all of which were as lovely to look at as they were to eat, plus their signature house-made scones with jasmine tea-infused sultana raisins, served with strawberry jam, creme fraiche, and butter. And yes, you know me, I ordered coffee instead of tea. No regrets! Meanwhile, my mom chose the His Royal Highness Tea, which came with a generous charcuterie and artisanal cheese board, a pot of tea, and one ounce of Bowmore 12-year-old Islay Scotch. She surprised me by choosing the scotch over the sparkling wine option but shared she had a bit of a cold and thought it might help which made me laugh! Everything was beautifully presented, so, so delicious, and the service was impeccable! The whole experience was wonderfully indulgent and a perfect way to spend time together after the holidays. A true five-star afternoon that I can't wait to enjoy again someday!! I'd also love to spend more time in the Prince of Wales hotel... maybe next time :)

The ambiance includes fine china teacups and saucers, along with three-tiered dishes, classical music, and cloth napkins. The tables and chairs were comfortable, along with a display of various tea ornaments, which included some for sale as well. The food was absolutely wonderful; everything was homemade, which included an abundance of cookies, two different types of scones, and large tea sandwiches on different types of bread (e.g. salmon on a croissant, cucumber and cream cheese on raisin bread, etc.). The food was fresh and well-prepared! Service was top-notch; we were given the utmost attention during our stay, even conversing with our waiter about the various events that the tea room had hosted over the years. Was impressed with how knowledgeable about tea our server was, and passionate as well. Will definitely recommend this tea room to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious tasting experience!

The tea selection was great, a variety of non-caffeinated versions of regularly caffeinated teas (Non-caffeinated English Breakfast and earl grey). Will definitely be returning in the future whenever we're in the area! I appreciated the reminder to bring our own takeout containers (although I still forgot them, will try to remember for next time).

In addition to afternoon tea platters there is also a lunch menu in case scones and tea sandwiches were not your thing. What was ordered; The Tea Room High Tea with a pot of Irish English Breakfast. The verdict? Food was okay. Scones were amazing and light. Served with a side of jam and clotted cream. Service was attentive. Note there is a seating limit of an hour and 45 minutes. They have a three tier tea stand that comes packed with scones, clotted cream and jam, sandwiches and mini dessert bites. I absolutely LOVE their scones. And the clotted cream and jam supplied by Devon cream company is delicious. I am not a jam fan but the vanilla berry jam is So good! They have a little under 300 varieties of tea and you can actually choose your tea after smelling it from the glass container too. It was such an experience! Hot water was added to our teas, and otherwise we were left to talk amongst ourselves. They served clotted cream, and a choice of jam with their scones. Had a mixed berry jam which was a good amount of tart and sweetness. Scones were excellent, one of the best I've had so far; which admittedly is not a lot. The sandwiches were okay, filling good, but bread a bit stale. The sweets were a small selection of 4 desserts and berries on the side. There was a lot of food for the 'White House Tea' set, well worth the money and the experience. Nice to try, but a bit far to come back again. Will definitely recommend to someone in the area!
