Whiskey Bar is one of my favorite restaurants in Augusta, especially for a picky eater and a burger lover! I have been multiple times before but this is my first review! The restaurant is unique on the inside and gives a somewhat hole-in-the-wall bar vibe (but cleaner). During the day time, I would say it is family friendly, but at night it can definitely get rowdier so go at your own risk, it is called Whiskey Bar after all. The burgers are very good and are cooked very well with lots of options for customization. I always go for the classic WB(K) burger with Swiss cheese and pickles. The waffle fries are always so crisp and yummy. The same goes for the potstickers as an appetizer. Even their other burger combos that seem strange are actually pretty good if you are into that type of burger. The service is always pretty good. Friendly staff that was quick. Not a long wait on a Tuesday night, but have definitely waited before on a Friday or Saturday. They have a first come, first serve bar as well. The tables can be somewhat cramped depending on where you are sat and it is definitely not an accessible place as the entrance is crammed and all the tables are high tops on the inside, the outside is better with low top tables and benches. The Diet Coke was okay. A little syrupy so their ratio on the fountain soda machine must be a little off. Still good, but I have had better. Overall, one of the best burger restaurants in Augusta and most stop place in the area!

Came here on a Saturday evening and the place was packed! It's located in the downtown area and parking was a hassle (tip: find a parking garage fee blocks away). I came alone and seated myself at the bar. It took 20 minutes before someone asked to take my order. And it took another 40 minutes for the food to come out. They were quick to ring me out tho. I ordered a burger with sweet potato fries and they were both good. I think it's a good local restaurant-bar, good for the vibes. Just wish the service was better.

We were able to easily find street parking nearby. Upon entering the staff was very friendly and quickly got us seated. We ordered some drinks and we could quickly tell their drinks were not watered down. Than we ordered an Elway burger and some of their chicken wings. Everything tasted amazing and were very plentiful. Our waitress wasn't very attentive herself, but the rest of the staff was very friendly and professional. I shall return for more yummy wings and drinks! Thank you to your staff.

I came here after work with some coworkers, and I've been told they get busy fast, but when we went we were able to be sat immediately. They have a good seasonal menu, and from that I ordered the blackberry lemonade (has bourbon in it). We also ordered the chili pimento cheese burger, pork belly slaw wrap, and Katsu curry rice. Everything was fresh and flavorful, and came out at a perfect time. Prices weren't bad too, and they're known for their whiskey, so definitely go try that too.

From the moment I crossed the threshold, I was immediately greeted by the host with a smile and seated in a booth. The lights were firmly dim but up enough where one could see. The game's were on the TV screens and everyone was having a ball. The food was off the hook! I started out with a Lavender Lemonade to drink and buffalo tots. It was so good that I had to get the actual buffalo chicken dip and it was delicious!! Then for my meal, I did the WB burger and added a fried egg and avocado. All and all my experience was excellent and I will definitely return again!

Been coming here for years but first time dropping a review. It's a tavern/bar and relaxed atmosphere. They have really good burgers here, I usually get the Devils Peak...its spicy so dont try unless you can eat Thai-level spicy. Or get the salsa on the side. I like the sweet potato fries as my side to balance out the spiciness. Pear ale that's on tap is excellent and great for summer...very light and refreshing! Also tried wings...you get 10 and 2 flavors. We got the lemon pepper and maple chili. Lemon pepper was a dry seasoning and I thought the flavors were good...I was surprised by the maple chili...while it doesnt have any spuxiness to it despite the name, I enjoyed a almost candy crunch on the first bute. Service was quick and they brought everything in a timely manner.

This bar is located in downtown and has a cool vibe with exposed brick and wooden booths. Fully stocked barn area, too. Service was friendly & helpful. I had their regular burger and onion rings. Burger was solid but could have used a bit more seasoning. Onion rings were tasty, and tasted beer batterered and were crispy. I would return.

We were in Augusta for the Shawn Mullins Concert. This place is about 1/2 mile from the Imperial Theater. Our waiter was very attentive and helped us through the menu. We both had the Tokyo Beef Bowl and it was excellent! We will definitely be back when in town.

The metro burger was a three, slightly overcooked, and it wasn't that hot, so it told me it was cooked and then almost reheated. Cheese was also not melted as another sign for the reheating theory. Onion rings were adequate but a little greasy. I ordered a Cali burger and liked the cucumber, avocado and jalapeño on it, but similar situation with the burger temp and ordered it with an egg and the white were still runny, which who likes that. The waffle fries were fine but not as good as Chick-fil-A's. The old fashions were a strong pour and I liked the big ice cube without air, the Manhattan was ok, and the whiskey sour was not thar tasty in my opinion nor frothed.

The blue cheese burger. I recommend their honey mustard and sweet chili sauces.

My favorite restaurant. Every time I eat here the food has me wanting to slip my number to one of the chefs. Palette is completely unique and I've lived all over. Very upset that they're closed on sundays!!! This was the burger squidward finally tasted and became addicted and obese from. Literally blows my mind and if I come there and it's a 50 minute wait because of this review I'm coming back to delete it.

Massive head on the Guiness - people from Dublin rolling their eyes. When paying for beer you want beer not froth.

Great, fast service with lots of indoor and outdoor seating at busy lunch time! Food was incredible and was why I made a yelp account just to write this review! The breakfast burger came on a croissant-bun! The coconut sauce that came with the sweet potato fries was SOO GOOD!! The lava taco seemed so simple- like a shrimp and lettuce wrap with a bang bang shrimp sauce- and was AMAZING! The draft beer selection was great and the Canadian Mule cocktail was perfectly made and put my lightweight-self to sleep for the remainder of the afternoon! Perfect experience. Glad we came here during our few hour-stop in Augusta! read more

when the food came out it was barely warm. didn't really like the urgency of our waiter, didn't seem personable at all- like they didn't wanna be there. had to ask more than a couple times for refills and made it seem like a hassle. overall the food wasnt great, on top of it not being hot. wont be coming back. don't recommend. read more

Excellent burger. I got the ghost pepper jack cheese and it was exceptional. Everything is better than expected. The beer acceptable and the whiskey selection is completely overwhelming. I came here on a suggestion from a co-worker and I will continue his work and send more people here. Great food, great atmosphere. read more

@Brutal S. I'm sorry you got sick, but if you got sick two hours after eating here it couldn't have been from Whiskey. It takes a minimum of eight hours for you to get sick if it is from what you ate. I hope you got better quickly. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On a side note, I've had almost everything on the menu here and it's all phenomenal! The burger I would recommend is the TBC it is delicious! And the tacos have a kick to them, but are just yummy! And anything they make with pork in it is the best! read more

First time visit here and what a treat! Beer and liquor options are great and the food is to die for. We tried the apple honey chicken wings and ended up getting an additional serving, they were so good. The atmosphere is casual and energetic and, on a Friday night, it was busy/crowded. read more

We saw their reviews online and wanted to try it out. Hours were until 10 on Sunday according to the website. We entered our info (name and phone number) on their site to be added to their waitlist. At the time it was less than 15 minutes. When we got there they indicated that they were closing at 4 instead of 10. We don't understand why they did not contact us immediately when we were on their list. We showed them the website and all they could say was sorry. If you go call ahead to be sure they stay open. Who would have guessed they would close at 4 instead of 10? read more

Terrible service, we had to ask multiple times for our appetizer and was worried that it would be delivered at the same time as the entrees. But, we did not need to worry since the entrees took almost an hour to be served. Ran out of drinks multiple times and had to flag the waiter down and ask for refills only to wait and then have to flag down again and ask again. Food was ok but ruined by the experience. read more

3 stars may be a stingy rating here. The only complaint I have is that the burger was overdone. I ordered the remedy burger on recommendation from a sever and the bartender. I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked so I assume that it was either a frozen patty or cooked to meet some regulation. When the bartender brought me the plate he said that it was a better looking plate and burger than usual. It did look picture quality... however, the inside was not. The meat was dry and overdone. Although, almost every table was full, I overheard the bartender say that it was slow.. and that was a Monday. I also overheard staff complaints about other staff members. Not a huge deal, just unprofessional. If I was with a group of friends I would return for drinks. But after I ate elsewhere. As stated before, the burger was overdone. In an area saturated with burger joints, it's important to outdo the competition. I recommend getting a good meal somewhere else and coming here for an Old Fashioned. read more

The food was great and it was a nice atmosphere, even eating a meal while drinking alone at a crowded bar. The bartender was attentive and skillful while managing a lot of clients and taking food and drink orders, which I imagine could be overwhelming for a less experience bartender. The burger was good and the menu was cool! Best part was the onion rings, maybe the best I've ever had. read more

Charming place in Augusta's downtown. It was surprisingly lively at 3:00 p. m. on a Wednesday. We both had burgers, which were tasty and juicy. The sweet potato fries and onions rings were good as well. An eclectic menu with an Asian flair, but we can't vouch for those. One of the bowls that went by smelled pretty good, though. read more

Most active, thriving business in downtown Augusta! Came here mid-afternoon on a steaming Fall day and downtown was abandoned except for Whiskey Bar. It was like a cool oasis. Friendly waitstaff and innovative entre's. I enjoyed the Tokyo Beef Bowl: ample portions of tender, delicious beef slices, with mushrooms, rice and a great ginger flavor. My wife loved her shrimp tacos; not too spicy, absolutely stuffed with shrimp. Great place; we'll definitely hit it again next time we're in Augusta. read more

This is one of my favorite spots. We like to double day here or just a special date night spot. The food is good and if you like basic drinks the bartenders pour a strong drink. My boyfriend loves the teriyaki chicken and rice while I have had half the menu. The Metro is my favorite burger though. read more

Absolutely needs to be on your list of places to eat. We had 5 people eating different meals and everyone loved what they had. The buffalo dip was fantastic and we should have ordered two! I ordered the breakfast burger and was nervous about adding syrup and French toast to my burger but the combination was amazing! If this review is what gets you there...your welcome! read more

My mom and I sat at the bar on a weekday afternoon for lunch. The bartender was very nice and very attentive. Service was great! It's not very big inside, but they were fairly busy for lunch. It seemed like this was one of the only places downtown open for lunch which probably works to their advantage. We started with the death valley salsa which was delicious. The salsa was the perfect mix of sweet and spicy, and the chips tasted homemade. My mom ordered the whiskey house salad which she enjoyed. It wasn't anything special but the veggies were fresh. I ordered the teriyaki burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was a little over cooked however very tasty. The combination of grilled pineapple and teriyaki sauce was delicious. The bartender recommended I dip my sweet potato fries in honey mustard instead of the coconut cream and i'm glad I did, it was a great combo. read more

Whiskey is a very comfortable and enjoyable space. The bar is the centerpiece with a great selection of whiskey and all liquors. There are televisions in case you want to catch up on sports but it's really a place to enjoy a good talk with friends or catch up with buddies at the bar. A combination of booths and high top tables are throughout the space. High ceilings and decoration accent the restaurant. There is a great variety on the menu and tonight I tried the Cali Burger. It was delicious. If you are in Augusta I suggest you stop and enjoy whiskey. read more

My nephew ordered the Pappardelle Frutti di Mare| 29 shrimp and crawfish tail meat, mushroom, white wine butter cream, shaved parmesean which was TOO SPICY for him to eat. When we mentioned this to the server she said the spice was normal for the dish and she would ask the chef to mention this on the menu. Didn't help us this time as the menu made no mention of any spiciness and we didn't know to ask to tone it down, which we would have asked had we known it was spicy. There was a special seasonal salad, with blueberries, peaches, and watermelons which was 10/10. We had ordered one to split but fortunately they forgot to split it so we got a whole salad each and I was thankful because it was beyond tasty and filling!! Would go back again for the salad alone!! Hopefully these problems will be rectified and we will give them another chance.

RACIST RACIST RACIST If i could give them no stars i would. On Saturday July 13, 2019. My friends and I decided we wanted to try this place out. We arrive around 8 and we were told it is a 30-40 min wait. I said that is fine and the hostess asked "if outside tables become available first will that be okay" I said yes with a smile and we began waiting. While me and my friends were waiting, we noticed any time someone who came in after us they were being seated right away. I didn't say anything at first because maybe they were waiting and went for a walk and came back. However, then i started to noticed any time white people who came in after me and friends were being seated very quickly. At this point it is going on 9:40 and it's literally been an hour (Keep in mind, me and friend are black). So we go back inside to ask the hostess what is going on and the people in front of us who LITERALLY just walked in (group of white people) got seated immediately. So i walk up and ask the hostess (white girl with a lil diamond nose ring) why we have not been seated and she making up lies saying we never asked to be seated outside when she literally was the one who asked me an hour earlier if that was okay and the entire time me and my friends were waiting she stared us in our faces and still continue to sit WHITE people before us even if they came after. I simply just walked away and my friends followed I was honestly looking forward to eating this place because I feel like i am the only person in Augusta who has yet to eat it. However, after that racist ass experience i will not be ever trying it. My sister (also black of course) said they treated her the same way. Yall are racist as hell. My friends and I didnt cause any problems or anything. Yall are in DOWNTOWN Augusta and racist? Does that correlate? It's got a great atmosphere, very friendly helpful servers. They have an incredibly extensive whiskey menu so if that's your kind of thing look no further. I don't remember what I got but what I do remember are those oh-so delicious sweet potato fries. They are pure heaven, plus they have a plethora of unique dipping sauces to choose from and you get a massive portion, I can't recommend them highly enough. Will have to agree with a few others, this is THE place for a burger that's different. My personal favorite is the Cali, which is quite fresh and stacked with some lighter options. The Elway (I think that's what it's called...) has BBQ sauce + onion rings, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. When my family comes in town to visit, we go here - they've never had a burger they didn't like. And those sweet potato fries + coconut creme sauce on the side should be illegal, that's how good it is. It IS a bit noisy, so be prepared for that, but the service is great and the prices aren't unreasonable! read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! It's my favorite spot downtown for many reasons - Atmosphere, food, service and great drinks. The look of the place is rustic and cool and gives that laid back, chill vibe that I think Augustans really want in a downtown hang out. The food is phenomenal! The burgers that I have had that are great are the Breakfast Burger, the TCB and the Cali. Sweet potato fries are yummy and the chicken and rice bowl is good too. Been waiting to try this place because it's always so packed. Got beers and salad right away. Seaweed salad was okay... Imitation crab meat wasn't what I was expecting. Ordered the ribeye also, waited almost an hour. When it came out it was nearly well done and not medium rare as ordered. Fortunately it was a decent cut of meat so still edible... No one bothered to check on us within a reasonable amount of time to correct the problem. Bottom line: try whiskey bar once to say you've been there. If you have never been here, definitely try it. They have some american.. some asian.. some southwestern themes all mixed together, and a nice whiskey selection. This is a nice place to go for food and drinks, or just to go sit at the bar with friends and watch a game. The atmosphere is neat and perfect for the downtown environment.
