Ventured outside of Milwaukee this past Friday and tried Whiskey Ranch, and let me tell you--their fish fry is absolutely worth it. Cozy vibes all the way, right down to the moist, delicious cornbread muffin served alongside their cod and potato pancake. The fish was flaky and the potato pancake was perfectly crispy! The Bloody Mary had a good mix--nothing too special though--but the toppings were spot on and definitely a highlight. The look and feel of this place is kinda woodsy (not usually my style) but still cute for a lake town trip. And the service was solid--the order came out quick, correct, and hot. We have been going to this place for several years, and always had great meals, drinks and service. This last experience the food quality went down. The whiskey ranch chicken sandwich used to be amazing. Huge juicy piece of chicken. This time I could barely see the chicken. This may be the smallest piece if chicken ever. Picture attached. Not even 1/4 inch thick! Clearly it was not good. Everything else was pretty good. Swiss mushroom burger, cheese curds and fried green tomato appetizer. But come on. UPDATE: I was contacted directly within 24 hours of my below review, it says a lot about how they appreciate their customers and personally addressed our experience! That says a lot so we will definitely be back! We drove 45 minutes to come here after I saw this post for the $5 cheeseburgers, but the $5 cheeseburgers were not available, still not sure I understand why, especially after I showed them this post, so that was a bit disappointing and frustrating since what should've been a $20 meal ended up being $60! They did still have the $2 domestic beers, so at least one thing was accurate! read more

Walked in late Saturday afternoon and the place was up for grabs with a meat raffle. Up for grabs in a good way. Lots of energy and we had lots of fun. Ordered a couple of drinks and the Saturday Steak sandwich that came with fries. Largest piece of steak I have on a steak sandwich ever. The steak was cooked perfectly and was served with pickles, onion and tomato. I ordered grilled onions. This was a good sandwich at a fair price. Fries were crispy and hot. I really liked this bar and restaurant. We sat at the bar and bartenders are very friendly and attentive. There is a screened in area in the back that you can smoke and play slots. There is also outside tables you can sit at. They consistently had people coming in to eat. On Sundays they have this extra large bloody mary with sides, it looked delicious. I had a regular bloody mary and it was perfect. Spice was just right with the vodka. I usually don't get bloody Marys but Im so glad I did. I also had their own sprtizer with vodka, mango puree and starry, that was so good, you couldn't taste the alcohol. Ha. The menu was so extensive, I didnt know what to try. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked so good. I ended up getting chipotle chicken wrap which was great. It was a little spicy, but not overwhelming, I like some spice. I thought it had great flavor. And a side of waffle fries, which were not overly seasoned, which I liked. It seems as though more restaurants are using soo much salt, its too much. These were perfect. They had a large sandwich section that you could make into a wrap, they had tacos, burgers. They have specials every day. Im gonna come back to try something different. This place doesn't look like much, but I love coming here for food. We normally come for lunch because it is a bit more expensive, but once you see the portions it makes sense. We get one of the jr burger specials, and they are all great. There is nothing jr about them though. They are all unique in that they have their own additions that put them above and beyond your normal bar burger. The sides they offer are also plentiful and hold their own in terms of taste. Overall it's a bar that definitely punches above its weight in terms of food. read more

Attended whiskey Ranch For my fiancés birthday. We had high hopes for this place considering it's always packed. The drinks were cold and well concocted. Excellent service at the bar. She was super friendly and was cool with me requesting the Salmon BLT as a Wrap and not a sandwich. It was bomb! Might be a new idea for their menu? I washed it down with a One Barrel beer from a Madison brewery. Good stuff, lite orange flavor, will be lookin for that beer again. Best food in Wisconsin. We keep going back. I had a Carolina Brisket Burger today with Brisket piled on a hamburger with Carolina mustard BBQ sauce and Fire Roasted Corn on the side. My wife had the Whiskey Ranch Hamburger with Mash Potatoes and Gravy(the best) on the side. Appetizers are excellent as well like the mouth watering "Smoke House Nachos with Brisket." We stopped ordering appetizers because with the main entree we had food left over for two days. Service is always outstanding as well. One Caveat: Come Hungry! The only reason I gave them a star off was for the Hidden Valley Ranch, I hate that brand of ranch, but other than that the food was good. Went there twice now in the same weekend, once with our Indian motorcycle group and was so impressed with the food I brought my family the very next day (it's a 2 hr drive). We don't drink at all but we are definitely foodies, I ate a burger the first day, it was pretty good but I had seen a pulled pork taco in the menu I couldn't get off my mind, (I'm from Mexico City and tacos are my addiction), so with a full belly I figured I give the taco a try take a couple of bites and abandon the mission, taco comes in and I realize it's a flour tortilla ( I totally try to avoid flour tortillas 99% of the time) I was totally set for failure, not hungry, in fact full and satisfied with the burger and now flower tortilla, I give it a bite and surprise, without hesitation I can tell you this is the best taco I ever had in my life, I brought my game just to try it the very next day, and they agreed, my wife said the very best had been in Mexico but this takes the first place now. First, I must start off by saying to trust me when I say this place is truly amazing across the board. It has been very rare to find a place that not only has the best Bloody Mary's in Wisconsin but to have some 5 star food as well. What a place this is. If you are looking for a very friendly staff that serves up mouth watering food, drinks and atmosphere then look no further because Whisky Ranch has it all. What made this truly a one of a kind experience were four key factors. 1) Atmosphere 2) Extremely friendly staff of dedicated workers and managers that have it all dialed in making sure you have an experience like no other. 3) The best Bloody Mary's in Wisconsin 4) The mouth watering food. With the very first sip of my Bloody Mary I immediately came away with a drink that sets the standards in taste. Just a perfect amount of everything in it. Their food, taste and portion size was off the hook. From the shrimp poor boy to their version of french dip sandwich to their larger then life hamburgers were very simple the best that we ever had. This bar is one of my favorites in the area. The bartenders are always so friendly and outgoing. Yesterday's lunch experience was great. In past experiences, bartenders don't always know that shellfish goes in the fryer. This has led to severe problems for me. The bartenders at whiskey ranch are all very educated on this. Yesterday she was able to recommend several food items that did not go in the fryer and that were safe for me to eat. It showed that she actually cared about my well-being. My parents have lived in Delavan for years, but this was my first visit to Whiskey Ranch, and it did not disappoint! As a vegan, I wasn't sure if there would be many options, but I was able to turn the Build Your Own Sandwich into a wrap and it was fresh and delicious! The server was super accommodating and helpful. The rest of the family enjoyed big, juicy burgers and raved about them. Stopped in on a Friday afternoon for lunch, plenty of seats at the bar even with 20 bikes outside. Bartender was attentive and on top of drinks and had great food recommendations. If ur a rider come check it out, even if u don't ride and like whiskey come check out there selection. There's not to many places that serve Bookers for under $8, this place charges $7. Great experience here tonight. Food was well above expectations. Had the classic Reuben and was impressed.

Last time husband and I went to Whiskey Ranch we walked in the whole bar smelled like a backed up bathroom it was horrible. I have severe breathing issues on oxygen. We sat at bar I asked bartender what thar horrible smell was she kinda got snippy and said I don't smell anything it's probaly the 5 candles that were burning around the bar!!! Bartender wasn't friendly very rude and saw I was on oxygen and said nothing. I stopped going to the bar because of the smell of cigarettes I feel I shouldn't have to sit in a place and smell those awful candles " if that was the smell"!! We stayed for fish fry but sat far from bar as we could needless to say fish fry was not good. Potato Pancakes were burned both of ours. Cod was ok but had much better and the corn bread was jiffy cornbread and tasted like vanilla cake??. Waitress's were nice but the bartender needs to adjust her attitude and get rid of those candles any candles! Not sure if we'd come back there ever again.
