Came and got lunch at this place in Harvard. It was surprisingly not that bad, and even good in a few ways. Bopp's is considered to be the oldest bar in town, but it's hard to know by looking at it. Clean inside mostly and modern looking TVs showing games. The drinks are mostly beers, and the food may look basic but is better than it looks. Bigger interior and roomier than expected. It looked like it would be pretty cramped from the outside. There's a big bar at the end and quite a few tables. Also multiple TVs had games on. The rest of the entertainment includes slots. A good choice of drinks. It's about $7 for the Moonshine Slushies. Cool stuff literally. They had pumpkin apple spice flavor among others. As for the food, there's burgers. Pretty big ones from the looks of things. Also people like the ham sandwich. It's about $5 for a basket of tater tots. Always good to munch on these between drinks. They apparently also have a veggie burger if looking for that. For around here it's pretty good. It's nothing fancy but it's not some dumpy place with crass locals all saying stupid things, mostly. Terrible customer service. Ordered food from here for carry out and they forgot 3 of the meals, this happens often. The boneless wings were also very undercooked, as were the pickle fries. I called to share I was missing food and was met with disrespect. I contacted the restaurant and the owner offered free food as a resolution. I told her that was not necessary and that I just wanted to make her aware so that it did not happen again. Owner insisted on a resolution of a free meal, when I went to order the free meal she said she was no longer honoring the resolution she offered because she was upset that I had posted on Facebook asking for the owner to contact me. Very disappointing and rude owner. Very bad experience. read more

A great local "dive" bar and restaurant. The menu consists of mostly specialty burgers and wraps. Food was excellent, service was prompt and attentive. Looks like a place where the locals go. Always what we look for when traveling. read more

This is a clean and friendly sports bar with good food. I stopped in last Saturday for Lunch. I had the ham sandwich (popular with the locals). Most places if you order a ham sandwich you get thin sliced cold cuts. Not here. My sandwich was crafted with thick chunks of tender ham that I'm guessing were cut off the bone just before serving. It was very good. They also have video gaming machines for those that are interested. Overall a good place to eat, drink, and watch sports. Probably best option in town. read more

Ordering from this establishment last year was an experience that left me insulted and queasy to say the least. Hungry and deciding on a Rueben sandwich for takeout one day, I walked downtown and picked it up. Upon returning home, I sat down to eat. I saw that the cornedbeef seemed dry but being hungry, I took a giant bite. It was not long before I realized that the meat was well on its way to turning rancid or "a little loud" as some folks say. That's not the end though. Examining the contents of my "Rueben" I was shocked to see that what I thought was dried out nearly expired cornedbeef was actually dried out expiring roast beef. My mom and I were in town checking out local shops and heard good things about this place from a local coffee cafe so we decided to try it. I had the saloon burger...which was super delicious!! My mom had the Cuban which was also recommended to us and now we know why...yum yum yum! The atmosphere was nice and cozy, especially since the winter weather was turning into slush it was nice to find somewhere to relax. Our service was wonderful, the man that helped us out was super friendly just the way a nice local bar/grill should be. Very friendly staff! I've never came to Bopps after 8pm, but the burgers are delicious and juicy.

My fiancé and I stopped here by recommendation from the locals. We had just booked our engagement venue at Starline and wanted to try some local fare. Burgers came highly recommend. And boy they didn't disappoint, flame grilled which is very unusual for bar type food and it came with option for homemade fries, tots, crinkle cut or wedge fries. Obviously can't go wrong with the fresh cut daily fries! The burger and fry special is on Monday for only $4.99, highly recommend if you've always wanted to try them or if you're looking for quality for a great price. We will for sure be back! To top it off the service was amazing our waitress was very attentive and friendly! read more

Bopps Tavern is a popular local hangout. The beer is cold and the food is great. Friendly people and staff. Stop in for a hot ham sandwich or chose from their full menu. If they don't have it, you don't need it. Great place to wait for the Train. Food to go too. read more

This townie tavern boasts the best hamburger in town and they are right! It was HUGE, juicy, and served on a soft white kaiser roll. It came with a huge portion of crinkle fries (other options: homefries, waffle fries or sub onion rings). The atmosphere is townie meets sports tavern without being overwhelming on the sports front. They have tables for dinner as well as a bar. It was clean and bright. The bartendress was really nice and the food was prepared quickly. From the outside you'd never think it was such a diamond in the rough. I would definitely stop in here again while I wait for the train. read more

Reasonably good food, but it can vary from day to day, so it is rarely reliable and often inconsistent. You get the mayor and city administrator at the bar most days at noon and a few city council and chamber of commerce folks around 4 pm, so if you desire a response for any city business you are more likely to get it here than trying to find anyone at city hall read more

Checked out this place last night. The service was good, the beer was cold and the cod sandwich was great. I got the potato wedges and the seasoning complimented the fish, slaw was OK. We were a party of five and no one had anything bad to say. A good place for a good meal and drink. read more

When it comes to bar food, Bopp's is a nice choice. A nice clean and friendly place to hang out and grab a bite to eat. I have had their Beef and Cheddar sandwich and must warn the eater... Have plenty of napkins as the cheese just drips off the meat...and not in a bad way. YUM ! The ham sandwich isn't quite like it was in the past but is still tasty. Bopp's has been a community name in harvard for as long as i can remember. The atmosphere is quite unique and varies from time to time as with the food.. I've been to Bopp's quite a few time in the past year and i've learned to come on the days when the Big cook with the neck tattoo's is working, from what i've learned about this cook is that he was trained as a fine dining chef and kind of fell into this Bar in the Wall. I order a burger for lunch once when the big guy wasn't working and ended up with a chopped peice of hamber with melted cheese on it, yet the homefries were quite pleasent. All in all look for the GOOD cook and your dinner or lunch experience will be better. read more

Bopp's has really great food, I've been there more than once and enjoy it every time. That being said, it's a shame they aren't very accommodating if they made a mistake to your food. I had ordered Chicken Tenders as Take Out because I was working an art event; arrive to pick it up and was asked if i had cash($10 minimum charge). I informed them no and before i had the chance to say I would go to the ATM to grab cash, the man behind the counter said just run it through. when i arrived back i had open my food to find out they didn't put the buffalo sauce on the side but covered them in it. I couldn't work with that because it would of been too messy. So I went back and informed them, they made a new batch but only included HALF the food the first one had. So its really disheartening that I was left with a bad taste in my mouth; not from the food, but the way they handle their customer service. read more

my boyfriend and i went there a few weeks ago on friday and we got the fish fry. i got the combo plate that had 2 huge pieces of fried cod, 2 pieces of perch, and 2 shrimp w/ potato pancakes. he got deep fried walleye(i think thats what it was) and it was huge and potato choice. everything was very, very good. but they gave me one little lemon wedge for all that fish. i asked for more lemon and they gave me one more little wedge, had to ask for another again. overall, loved the place, but a little stingy with the lemons. read more
