Walked right in with my husband on a Saturday night and got seated right away. Our server was very attentive and friendly, gave wonderful suggestions and was helpful for us first timers. Everything we decided to get was delicious and came out quickly! *Lemon drop cocktail- one of the best I've had lately *Tomato bisque (Not pictured) - Thick and full of flavor *Chicken lettuce wraps- spicy and packed full of flavor like no other place beside a well know chain restaurant. These were way better because they included spice! *Pesto is the besto- is their chicken pesto flatbread, again one of the best pesto combos I've had on a flatbread which is fluffy, but crispy edges. *Surf and Turf- My man waffles ordered this with parm fries. The steak was so tender and the parm fries had the perfect mixture of parm and garlic. The couple bites I had off his plate. * beignets- of course we had room for dessert!! Perfect couple bites of something sweet to end the night. We can't wait to make the journey to Hot springs again just so we can eat here. read more

This lovely getaway bar is a hidden gem and much too far away from our home. We were looking for a drink and a happy hour snack before heading back to Rapid City. I ordered the bruschetta which sounded delicious and when it came... Oh my goodness, what a feast for the eyes!!! It was a deconstructed-bruschetta and absolutely fabulous. What an unassuming hidden gem! Looks like every other business in town, which is charming, and we were looking to eat. Some travelers coming out told us to try it and we were so overwhelmed! Fresh scallops flown in this morning with an out of this world orange sauce! My hubby had chicken strips-so adventurous, and I'd be hard pressed to say when I've ever had better! These are no frozen fried strips! Hand battered, choices of batter! I had butternut squash ravioli that was top tier as well! 10 out of 10, hands down! We had a great experience at this new iteration of what was once The Merc (Mercantile)! The space was lovingly curated by local business owner, Kara Hagen, and, thankfully, still retains much of the flare and vibe she infused into it with her eye for design. We had very nice service from one of the younger female servers, who has served us before - and who we really enjoyed again. We started with some delicious potstickers and a dynamite dipping sauce and some tasty local beer on tap. I ended up with a very hearty lettuce-heavy salad (salad of the Gods?) dish with a nice dressing and my husband opted for breakfast fare with nice biscuits & gravy! Great food and atmosphere in the heart of Hot Springs. We got the "2 for" deal and was well priced for what we got and worth the money. An appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 drinks, and 2 desserts. We enjoyed our dining experience at Whiskey River, but the prices for what you get are beyond outrageous. $19 for a single cheeseburger with fries served on a plain 'ol hamburger bun isn't going to make me a repeat customer. I cannot recommend this restaurant. read more

I was there solo so I got a nice high top in the corner to myself on a raised platform where at some point I assume a few guitars would provide life entertainment. The food was very good. I had cheddar cheese balls. There are about 20 of them and a squash ravioli. The ravioli was OK Fortunately the portion was not huge. The service was very good. I have no complaints about that- it was what I would expect. I would go back there again, but I was only in town for two nights and I don't like to eat at the same place twice if there are other options. The other option turned out to be a Pakistani restaurant operating of a small building in an alleyway. I would recommend that as well. read more

Margaritas were awful, house wine was so so. It took a very long time to get our food and when we finally got it, it was cold. Burger buns were so dry they fell apart. The only thing that was good was the hamburger Patty was ok but again dry. We most likely will not be back. read more

My guys got to participate in tasting and voting for the towns May Burger Brawl, where the entire town for the Month of May has a burger competition! We waited over an hour for two burgers. The couple next to us, who were seated at the same time, had their food brought out and they were finished eating and we still hadn't seen our food. If we hadn't ordered drinks, we would have just left. Waitress never checked in on us once after ordering. Once we said we were leaving, they told us our food was ready and to pay (full price). Sorry, that's not a great way to run a business. We wanted to try something new in Hot Springs, but we won't be going back here again. read more
