I would just be echoing what most have already written. The other reviews are very accurate. My big issues included that when I reached out for more information via email I got no response. Also, they offered a pizza meal and it turned out to be Dominos. No offense to them but I was expecting a sit down inside with something more local. Not even paper plates and napkins. So the bus was clean, wifi equipped (though weak), and outlets on the back of each seat to stay charged. Weirdly had no music playing for the majority of the trip, guide blamed it as being unfamiliar with SA radio stations since she had just driven in from Houston. The tours are supposed to consist of three brewery/winery/distillery visits, I'd assumed it would be all of the same category i.e. all brewery or all winery but we had a two for one perk visiting Ranger Creek Brewing & Distillery in that we were getting to try their beers and whiskeys. We'd anticipated a bit of a story and a tour of the facility but honestly this one went on waY too long. Still, this visit was the high point once we realized we weren't limited in our samples and they were pouring full pints. Back on the bus to New Braunfels Brewing Co., a brewery known for its sour beers, many made with fruity elements and one spiced pickle beer. These were honestly a trip, we were presented two drink tickets and I sampled a pink beer, sour, and a splash of the pickle beer, spicy and sour. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it, one of the homies running the establishment sounded like Seth Rogen so that was a treat. The majority of the bus seemed to really dislike the visit though and I saw a few people tossing beers into sinks or nearby plants. Our last stop was the Grapevine, something I was super looking forward to but wound up being the most disappointed. I was anticipating a couple sweet glasses of wine to wind up the trip but after fighting downtown traffic down a narrow road, we were told we'd get 45 minutes to wander around since that's how long our host figured it'd take the bus to circle back. It was so disorganized, we literally just walked in to what felt like a super crowded gift shop where five or six people poured samples down a long bar. The wine samples offered, while delicious, were barely enough for a SIP. I asked our guide if we were supposed to tell them something to get actual glasses of wine and she told us we had to purchase the drinks, only the samples were free and only three samples at that. Okay, so what was all the money we spent on the tickets actually going towards? We got our tickets at a convention where they were offering a special price, 2 for $100 I think, then the day of the tour we were told to bring $20 cash for a tasting fee. What the what? Even after alllllll that, during the drive back to the drop-off point, our guide announces both she and the bus driver work for tips. $70+ at the end of the day and barely caught a buzz. read more

I booked the San Antonio beer bus as a last-minute activity with my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The owner, Neil, took my reservation over the phone and was awesome about squeezing us in. We had a blast! We went to three different places - Ranger Creek brewery/distillery, Weathered souls brewery, and Artisan on Alamo (vodka distillery). Ranger Creek - hands down our favorite. The guys working there were amazing, they really went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and made sure everyone had a good time. We got three full pint pours plus multiple samples of bourbon. Lots of variety in the beer options. We opted to purchase a bottle of bourbon and some bourbon filled chocolates to take home with us. The brewery seemed to only be open for tours at the time and were able to focus their entire attention on our tour group. The next top, Weathered souls brewery was very busy. They were hosting a party at the time, and about 3/4 of the seating area was reserved for the party, forcing our tour group to the patio. At this brewery, we received two tokens good for a half-pour of 4 pre-selected beers they had on tap. I chose the only one that wasn't an IPA (IPA isn't my thing), and it tasted like a very strong IPA. My husband was sweet enough to purchase me one of the non-tour options that the staff insisted was not an IPA, but it tasted identical to what was already in my glass. Not a lot of variety in the options here, and the options for purchase were very overpriced (growlers, etc). Artisan on Alamo was our least favorite stop. The owner came off as rude and bothered when asked questions. Our guide boasted about mixed drinks, but we discovered when we got there that mixed drinks were only available to purchase, not as part of our samples included in the tour. They did, however, have a big selection of cocktails available for a reduced "tour price" of $5. The vodka samples we received were small, and the whole place was a little underwhelming. Overall, we loved the whole beer bus experience. Our beer bus guide (who I cannot remember his name, oops) was also amazing. Snacks and bottled water were offered between stops, and the bus played classic rock on the radio which produced many drunken sing-a-longs. When we arrived back at our starting point at the Lion and Rose pub, we received a voucher for a free appetizer. We decided to eat there after checking the Yelp reviews and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing, the staff was excellent and had our appetizer in our hungry hands within minutes. Tips: -Get either an Uber or a Lyft to and from your meeting point. -Bring a bag for your swag! We got a pint glass from each of the places we visited, so we left with 6 total, plus items we purchased. -Eat something before you board the bus - our tour started at 11:30 and ended around 4:30. Even with the snacks, we were starving by the time we got back to the pub -Wear sunscreen! Two of the three places we went had a patio with limited shade, I was very grateful that I lathered up in sunscreen before we left. We definitely will be doing a beer bus again! We got tickets to the Texas Beer Bus not knowing exactly what was involved. All we knew was that we got the tickets for $50, and we were promised a day of breweries. We showed up at the appointed spot, the parking lot of The Lion and the Rose. They didn't have any water waiting for us, and had us stand around in the heat of the parking lot while we waited for a MegaBus that was about 20 minutes late. While we stood around waiting for the late bus, we were told that if we actually wanted to drink beer on this Beer Bus tour, we'd have to chip in another $20. I felt ripped off. Why not include that in the fee? When we finally got going, there was no beer on the bus. They said that was illegal (it's not.) We drove around in circles for about 20 minutes trying to find the first brewery. They didn't know where it was. Apparently, they hadn't been there before. When we finally arrived, Ranger Creek did a great job of explaining the beer, the whiskey, and the brewing process. Blue Star didn't seem to be expecting us. They hurriedly poured us a few ounces of beer while we stood around waiting for something. I don't know what. Nobody told us about the place, and we got rushed out of there almost as soon as we got there. The third brewery cut my brother off for being loud and obnoxious. I don't blame them. In all, we went to three breweries. Ranger Creek, Blue Star, and Freetail. I felt ripped off that the beer tasting charge wasn't explained until we were already $50 into it. Plus, they made us fill out these liability waiver forms after they had our money. Don't like the terms of the form? No refunds. What a ripoff. Who's going to take a beer tour and not drink beer? The tour was poorly planned, terribly executed, and felt like a rip off. Our guide didn't know the first thing about the breweries (didn't even know where they were). I'm never taking this tour again, and I discourage you from doing it too. There's other brewery tours in town. Better yet, just go on your own. read more

Had to pass on these free tickets to the Austin Triple Brewery tour. The Austin meeting place is by the Domain rather than somewhere downtown. (They helpfully suggested that we take a $25 Uber ride to get up to their bus. Yeah, thanks.) Beer tasting is not included in this beer tour! (It's an extra $20 to actually drink beer, paid day of.) The breweries on the itinerary were Oskar Blues and Austin Beerworks. Both are walking distance from the meeting point. I am genuinely confused why anyone would pay $125+ pp for this. read more

Don't do it!! Let me lay it out there for you. I've been on other beer bus tours in other cities so was super excited when my sister in law bought us all tickets last christmas. I don't mean to sound rude but our host needs a new occupation, her monotone voice portrayed the excitement of a funeral or a 0-0 exhibition soccer game. The music on the bus didn't work for over half the ride and it reeked of exhaust the first half of the trip. The stops were cool but they're independent of the tour co so that makes sense. For the last third of the trip, we took a 45 min ride through traffic back into town for our host to notify us, after multiple updates and delays that our third stop wasn't possible. During all this, we pass a bad wreck which the hosts comments on the intercom and tells us how many people die in car accidents every year. Honestly I cannot convey the level of frustration or dissatisfaction I have with our purchase and this company. #fail read more

We have purchased tickets for the Texas Beer Bus four times! We enjoy the atmosphere and the easy way we are able to tour the breweries, wineries and distilleries in Texas. We have been to North Houston, Dallas and Austin. Our fourth tour will hopefully be in south Houston. We are able to uber to our meeting site and they provide unlimited chips and water on the bus. We eat a good breakfast before we go and they provide pizza at the second or third stop. There have been food trucks at each stop to purchase food to absorb the alcohol! We enjoy visiting a new city with someone else driving! read more

We're currently on our tour... that's how bad this is. We drove to the Domaine to meet the bus. The original bus driver no-showed, when the bus finally showed it was almost two hours late. The first stop was 23 MILES away near Austin Bergstrom-Hi Sign Brewery-decent beer, but nothing special. The second stop was another 17 MILES east To Cedar Creek to a START-UP "whiskey" distillery-Armadillo Whiskey Distillery-the whiskey is only "whiskey" thanks to a loophole in Texas liquor laws, its moonshine and it's terrible. The owner Matthew Wells spent so much time on the tour that he delayed the bus getting to our third stop. At the third stop-Adelbert's Brewery-we had less than 40 minutes to consume four beers. read more

Would not recommend this tour. Poor organization. Guide does not guide, expected more engagement and education like I have experienced on other tours. Serving dominos pizza at a location where signs are posted everywhere, "No Outside Food", with not plates etc made me feel like an elementary student on a field trip. Please don't waste your money. All you pay for is the bus to drive you around. You have to pay for every stop you make. The places they take you too are downtown Austin (que the fuck that ) and a distillery where again you pay for your drink. So y be like me and pay over a $100 dollars for a bus do it yourself and have a better time. read more

I started the process of booking a private event through TBB 4 months before the date. We had a great experience with them on a public tour the prior year so figured it would be great for a birthday event. Unfortunately, this was not the case for the private tour. It was $99/person (which does not include tax OR a payment fee) which includes a bus that takes you to 3 different locations (these will not be confirmed until the week prior...) from 12-5, pizza lunch, and a voucher for every attendee to get a free visit at a later date. When making the payments- which can only be made by 1 person, they continued to keep forgetting to include my original deposit towards the payment.. & when I asked if I could pay in person (cash or check) to avoid the payment fee they simply said no. So all in all, I ended up paying close to $200 in JUST this fee alone. The day of the event, we arrived at our first location and they had no idea that we were coming. So our group of 38 waited for near 10 minutes before knowing what we were doing. Not off to the best start. At our last event, the tour guide told me it was time to leave at 4 pm... which was 1 hour before the agreed end time. After convincing him to try and call his contact from TBB, he finally said we could stay until 4:40. They never had any of the vouchers to give the guests. The following week I called to speak to someone about my experience. The woman basically said it was the brewery and the guide's fault & took absolutely no responsibility. She ended the conversation with "we will try harder next time". She agreed to send emails to each of my guests with the voucher by the end of the week. Well, that week came and when I contacted them they said it was too difficult and asked me do it instead which involved gathering 38 of my guest's emails and emailing each person an individual voucher (they emailed me the 38 different attachments......) In exchange for my trouble they sent me a few extra vouchers. I responded telling them how ridiculous this was for me to spend my time having to do all this. No response. Long story short, for each person to pay $99 and all the different fees that I had to pay - they were incredibly unorganized, poor customer service, and just flat out not worth it. Definitely NOT recommending them to anyone. I felt like I had to spend WAY too much time trying to help organize and figure out the details of the event which in my opinion, is not my responsibility. There are plenty of other tours out there who will provide a smoother & more enjoyable time. read more

I wish I didn't have to give one star but I do in order to leave a review. We saw a tent for this company at a festival so we purchased four tickets because we thought this would be a fun thing to do for a bachelor party. We were not told it was a public tour or that we had to register online so we thought we had seats on our private tour. We were told we could have the other groomsmen call & pay for a ticket at a later date once we got all the info for the tour which we were supposed to get the next day. After one week of no response to my email, I called two different numbers, both of which had a voicemail that said email, do not leave a voicemail. I've never heard of a company not having a phone you can call & talk to a human being. I sent an email & got no reply. So I tried again two days later, I sent two & after the second one, I got a phone call. I was told at that time, almost two weeks after I was supposed to get the details, that it was a public tour, now there are not enough seats for everyone who wants to go, we had to register online, the ticket is just a reminder you paid for a tour. I explained that we were not told any of that when we purchased the tickets, the woman told me it's all on the receipt, which, we also weren't told when we purchased the tickets on a Square card reader & the receipt gets sent to junk mail, we knew what the cost was so why read the receipt? The woman on the phone agreed to give me a refund for the trouble & not being clear about logistics & having such a hard time dealing with the company. I sent her the receipt, no response. I emailed two more times, I finally got "it will be processed." Nearly two weeks & 7 emails later, still no refund. DO NOT SPEND ANY MONEY WITH THIS "COMPANY". You are made to feel like a nuisance once you've paid for the service they are supposed to provide. They have your money, why should they deal with you now?? I do hair & the biggest part of providing a great experience for my clients is customer service. If I ran my business the way these people do, I would have no business! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED! DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!! read more
