Been a customer for over fifteen years. This is the worst Whistle Workwear location, solely because of the staff. Between placed orders being wrong on their end, to them talking to each other about the birds and the bees at the register while a line of customers are waiting to check out, this location deserves a revamped crew. I walked in here looking to acquire a Christmas gift for a friend of mine and spotted a beautiful Catapillar Red Brown Leather Work Boot on clearance for $114. They were all one side shoes and an attendant had to go in the back to look for the other half. One chunky Filipino fella tells me they're on clearance because they have to be sold as one as size 9 and the other as size 10 as a pair. Then a tall causasian attendant goes in the back together with the Filipino and one of them notifys me that he cannot find this product. Apparently the Filipino fella tells that it's common for customers to wear their shoe sizes that are mismatched. They had enough nerve to lie straight to my face expecting their customers to buy a size 9 and 10 as a pair and be okay with it. Whistler it sounds to me your staff needs integrity training. It was my first time being in the whistle workwear store. I had the pleasure of being helped by Tracy, which I later discovered was the manager on duty. She was knowledgeable, helpful and went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. She helped me try on several different boots and when the one I liked wasn't available at her store she called around to find it at another location. Not only did she find them for me, she had someone drop them off with their shipment which was arriving a few hours later. Absolutely amazing! Katie, another associate, was very kind and helpful when I returned (the same day) to pick up my boots. Thank you so much for all your help ladies! I ordered a pair of work boots online since I have no time to make it to the stores. I paid for overnight shipping since I will be needing them right away, as my other pair have met their unfortunate demise. I received a call from the staff informing me they received my order. She told me since I am in Seattle, it wouldn't be practical to pay the extra money for overnight shipping, and asked if I would be fine with two day shipping (free of charge). For the savings and honesty, I absolutely was, and she refunded the shipping. She immediately had the tracking number sent to me. If I've been in need of a size that's not in stock, they get it right in within a few days without fail. Help!!! I needed shoes and other things for work, got to Whistle and right away got about three hello's, made my way to the back of the store and the sales associate was busy, but not to busy to give me a quick review of the layout. As soon as she was free she got some Danners that I wanted to try on. F that. They were terrible. Then she got me some Keen's that I had heard about. Yeah, they didn't work for me either. Finally she suggested I try some Timberland. They were just right. Fit like my own skin, and comfy right away. Plus - $200 cheaper than Danner, and $50 cheaper than Keen. So I found some long sleeve t shirts, and a bright yellow rain coat to finish my day off. read more

Last Friday went there to buy a pair of boots. It was 45 min before they close, i know this do to the fact the sales assoc. In shoe department told me four times. I'm a flagger and was wearing my rain gear. I told him i need to buy new waterproof boots for tomorrow. I was wearing my Danners and wanted something new.. I asked which on were safety toed and he said orange tags were composite. I started looking around and asked for 3 different styles to try on. when i asked for the style he said really ask he walked off. I could hear jim and the employee in the back behind the wall which I could still hear him talking talking about how the store was going to close and I'm asking for a pair of shoes he came out informed me that they're going to be closing soon and if I was done trying on the three pairs when I had only tried on one and started to grab the two that I hadn't even tried on yet. last one actually looked at me and said seriously came in 40 minutes before it closed. cuz I was trying on the the other two boots I still can't hear him behind the wall talking about me to the other employee I was offended I was treated like I wasn't there and that my money didn't matter obviously I had a pair of Danner boots so I can spend some money on some boots but they lost a sale that day I got up I was fed up I walked out and the guy at the front door asked me if I found everything I needed and I said no their employee in the back was rude I will never come back here again I've never been treated that way and that they lost a sale and he just looked at me kind of shocked and I walked out I was so upset that I got treated that way 45 minutes prior to them closing read more

Tuesday I went in to Whistle workwear on on Tacoma mall way to get a fancy safety vest. I was eyeballing the Stanley cups (my favorite one started leaking recently) I asked about the lifetime Warrantee and the woman working said "yeah just bring it in" so today I did! I was expecting a hassle, have to mail it in or whatever...nope! They hooked it right the fuck up!! That's good customer service right there! They'll be getting more of my business. read more

I needed a new pair of boots that would stand up to heavy use, water, mud, and even diesel. Safety toe, waterproof, and anti fatigue because I have bad feet, a bad knee, hip and back. Sarah was the associate who helped me. She was fantastic! Sense of humor "the fuel will eat your sole," very knowledgeable, and just all around awesome. She made shopping for work boots fun. Didn't have a problem with them until I went to special order it. You would think they were trying to put a man on Mars. Went in and special ordered boots because they told me it would take 10 days to get them, awesome. The day they were set to arrive, I got a phone call saying they were on backorder and were going to be a month. So because I was upset I canceled them. After thinking about it I called back the next day to change my mind. The person I talked to said that they were still on order. I called back several times just to make sure they were still on order, they were. A couple of those phone calls I was told I would get a phone call back, never did. I always had to get a hold of somebody. Then today I get a phone call telling me that my boots were never on their way. That after I canceled them nobody had called the manufacture to make sure they were still being sent. We are now at over a month since the initial order and they already have my money. WOW! Mind you not once did I get loud or talk nasty. I was polite every time I talked to them. read more

Beware of the return policy! I received a long sleeve Carhartt shirt for Christmas from my in-laws. I took it back to the Tacoma store, along with the Gift Receipt with the intent of simply exchanging it for a smaller size. The sales associate asked me if I had washed or worn it at least one time. I answered "yes." He informed me it is store policy that if it is washed or worn one time, they will not return or exchange it. So, let me see if I understand this...you receive a gift, and like most people, you wash it before putting it on. According to their return policy, you have already violated the policy before even seeing if it fits! I have never experienced this type of policy with any other clothing store. Furthermore, I checked the Gift Receipt to see if the Return Policy is stated...and it was no where to be seen. If I could, I would give Whistle Workwear zero stars. In the future, I will never purchase anything from them again, and I will tell others as well. Their return policy is ridiculous! read more

Went in to whistle no body works here work wear, again, tried 2 years ago, 4 staff lounging around, the guy in the shoe section apparently didn't feel like selling shoes that day, so I just measured my feet, put my shoes on and orders the romeos online. Was in whistle we don't work here work wear to day, about 10;30, 3 staff, (they have big signs on the back of their shirts) were lounging around the register, one man back in shoe section, was deciding whether to go past the employee only sign to find a box with what he wanted, obviously he expected some one else to help him, I couldn't find any one either, but there were stacks of different romeos around, probably had the style I wanted, but really I don't work there, I'm not helping them make sales. SO. I measured my feett agains, just to make sure, opened a few boxes, un arranged their display a little looking at the shoes, got a nice cheery have a nice day as I walked back out past the register lol. just finished ordering the same shoe I saw at whistle welfare , for the same price. don't bother with this joint, and the clowns they hire. Theres a new saftey work wear shop on south Tacoma way, just past the b&i, Bass pro shops has a better selection of work shoes , steel toe and all than whistle don't work. and the place in orting is head and shoulders above them both, so there are plenty of better choices than whistle I don't have to work wear, . yeah My shoes won't be here till Tuesday, (free shipping to). this is a bad business to patronize, hope the fold and go away soon. maybe a work wear place that sells shoes will move in, we really could use one lmfao. read more
