I want to start off by saying that immediately upon walking in I was greeted very warmly and with a genuine smile then directed to the boots where I could be helped. The manager Algie was hands down amazing with helping me. He knew what I needed and the first pair of boots were the ones I walked out with. Why can't every experience be this easy? I went to 3 other stores before here with no luck AND nobody helped me at those other stores either. This man needs a raise or at least recognition for his exceptional customer service. We decided to buy and waited at the front counter for 10 min. Not an employee in site. Finally we were acknowledged after I approached an employee. Rude attitude during checkout. Ended up taking my business elsewhere after I was not greeted just looked at and ignored upon entering the business, I was in my lounge wear because it was my day off. However immediately after I entered so did a couple of other people who were greeted and asked if they could be of help to them. Assuming because they look more "put together". I have never been treated so bad!! Considering Del, the owner, "has since instilled a passion within his employee's to always go above and beyond for our customers, fellow employees, and everyone in-between. Here at Whistle Workwear, we believe in taking the time to help someone in need, in going the extra mile, and in treating everyone with respect and kindness. Del calls this the "Magic of Whistle" because you can choose to shop anywhere but you'll always remember how you were treated." Perhaps Del needs to reconnect with his staff because they are FAR from his mission statement. I had a pair of Wrangler Riggs to return due to ripping at the seam, they were purchased in November, so well within the stores "6month" period. The clerk who was short and rude refused to exchange them and got the manager. The manager came out with his mask continually falling off his face stating he will not take them back without looking at my bank statement. Who would show their bank statement?! He then proceeded to imply we were just trying to get stuff for free. I don't appreciate being treated like trash when I easily spend a few thousand dollars at a store a year. We will no longer be going to this location! We will take our business to another Whistle Workwear where they treat their costumers with respect. Probably great for getting work gear that has no chance of being defective. Been here 4 times in two weeks because of defective boots. First pair leaked, came back in with receipt, but they wouldn't exchange or refund, they wanted to do a "leak test", which takes up to 24 hours. Fine, so I left and in 6 hours or so they called back and said they were in fact leaking. Duh. So I drove back, and got a different brand. Same problem. Came back, same exact process. Again. Now I'm waiting for them to call me and tell me my boots are leaking. Cool. Love spending money and time to prove to people whom I just gave $200 to that I'm not a liar. read more

I went in to buy a pair of work boots for my husband, but had to wait around for the employees to get off their cellphones to help me. After wrangling an employee, I learned the boots were out of stock so an order had to be placed. They would not ship the boots to my house from another location. Instead, I was told the boots had to be shipped from the other location (literally an hour away) to the location I was at then shipped to my house which could take WEEKS. I have never heard of such a backwards way of placing an order. I was then told they couldn't place the order until they do inventory of their store - why though, they already knew the boots weren't in stock. I've now waited a week for a pair of boots to be shipped from another store (again, a store one hour away) so I can pick them up. After calling the store to check on the order, I was told 1) they probably have the order, but haven't gone through the shipments (seems odd to not want to restock your inventory as soon as possible) and 2) to wait a couple more days. I wouldn't be surprised if the order was never placed in the first place. The last time I'll go back to this store is to return the boots after having ordered them from another business. I just came back from Whistle Workwear for an exchange, and it was to my liking. Had to return some wrong sized pants, and the employee behind the counter went back to the shelf and returned with the right size for me. Everything was professioal and courteous, wish I had seen the name of the person that helped me, I would post that. It might be a little less to buy Carhartt through the mail, but I will bring all my hard earned bucks to the Puyallup Whistle Workwear. read more

I went into the store to pick up a scrub top that I had ordered, it came in. However, I had a pair of scrubs that I had to return anyway. When asked, "how can I help you?"I explained to the front desk that I wanted to pick up a scrub top and exchange items in the bag. "She said, if you want to get another pair, but you have to leave your bag with scrubs here!" My first thought was...wow, I'm not going to take anything....geez! But, then it gets better....I grabbed a few different styles and sizes to take into dressing room to try on and came out of dressing room abt 4 times to grab different sizes...not one time did anyone ask if I needed help or if I was doing ok! BUT when another female costumer walked into the store...she was asked 3 times by 2 different workers of the store, if she (customer) needed help! 3 times!!! What the hell!! Am I chop liver!! I mean..I'm pretty self sufficient, but I felt very uncomfortable ...just saying! The selection of scrubs were great...but because of the bad costumer service...I probably won't go back! Tagged along with my boyfriend to check out hiking boots, and ended up purchasing leather preservative. The two employees that work there were especially helpful and friendly, just the nicest customer service I've seen in a long time. I don't have a means to usually shop in this type of store but I liked it so much, I wouldn't mind going back. I have no idea how to use leather care products, and the employee working there took the time to describe the differences between two products I had picked, the differences in application and the differences in amount of time it would last. She also helped my boyfriend with questions about the boots he was trying on. As a bonus, they offer 10% military discount on non-sale items.
