We did the "Finer Things" progressive dinner tour with Christine and had a lovely time. We'd never been to Whistler before and figured this would be a good way to get oriented while trying a bunch of restaurants at once - we were right. Christine did a great job of combining local history with culinary info. The restaurants were selected well and provided some delicious food - a lot of it too - this is a full meal +, so don't worry about going away hungry. My vegetarian spouse had plenty of options, too. The wine sabering demo was a highlight and Christine did some trivia and games that kept us all engaged. Would definitely recommend! read more

My friends and I had an amazing time doing the Hidden Gems tour with Whistler Tasting Tours. Christine was a great guide, pointing out her favorite places in the village even if we weren't visiting them as part of the dinner tour. I highly recommend trying one of their experiences while you're in Whistler - preferably early in the trip since they offer discounts with certain partners too. When booking through a third party (for example most of my group booked through Chase to use reward points), definitely cross reference their actual site to determine how many spots are left for the tour you want, unfortunately this info doesn't get updated on third party sites. read more

Yah. This is worth it. Took this delicious food tasting tour hosted by our friendly neighborhood guide, Eugene. He took the 4 of us to 5 different stops on this progressive dinner. All the restaurants were close by and not much walking. Each night they offer a different combination so hard to know where you will go. selects different restaurants and there are other options to chose from. We included the wine pairing and all wine selections were Canadian bottles. Besides the food, Eugene also included some fun games and activities along with select prizes at the end. First stop was the Barefoot Bistro's private wine cellar for a sparkling wine sabering lesson plus appetizer. Very Fun to see the huge wine collection. Next stop was Hy's Steakhouse for tuna and teriyaki beef appetizers paired with red or white wine. Both delicious. Third stop was Italian Quattro for the main course. We had pasta with salmon or veal. Next we had a quick stop at Rogers Chocolate and got a small piece of chocolate. The real dessert though was at Caramba where we got ice wine and a super sweet doughy plus ice cream thing. Bottom line we tried some good foods at a variety of restaurants. Some dishes were really good and some were meh! Eugene kept it entertaining and fun. read more

We had a group of five people participating in the food and wine pairings in the Hidden Gems tour. We loved each of the individual restaurants and the food offerings. It's so great to walk in and get immediately served. Luke was a great, knowledgeable guide and gave us great advice on other "gems" in the village for our perusal later. Our favorites were the Hunter Gather beer and slider pairings as well as the cheese and ice wine at the Westin later in the tour. However everything was exquisite including Elements, Stonesedge, and the great desserts, and it was great fun to walk between every course! Makes you feel less guilty about eating! Highly recommended, but do it early in your trip so you know where to eat during the rest of your vacation. read more

I want to start off stating that prior to this tour, I have been on 6 other food tours in various places. I really enjoy food tours while traveling. It's great way to learn town history, culture, and get acquainted with the food scene and have meal. We had a large group and booked this tour prior to our trip to Whistler. The booking was easy, but as we added on 2 more people a little later they had to adjust our restaurants for size purposes. I liked the variety of places we tried. I also enjoyed walking around Whistler village with our group. I also thought giving out playing cards was a fun game (poker) as well as a unique way to tell us that we would be leaving that venue and moving on to the next. However, I was unimpressed with the history we received. With the winter Olympics being held in Whistler I feel that there was a lot of history and stories that could have been shared. However, we mostly had to ask our guide questions about that time and pull information from him. I also felt that the food at a couple places we tried just fell flat. There was plenty of food and drinks to go around, but honestly not much of it was very memorable. And most of it didn't showcase the area we were in. This tour made for a fun night in Whistler! And we were able to try 4 different places and have a progressive meal together as a large group. I just wished the food quality would have been better and that we had a more outgoing guide who gave a better representation of the town. read more

BEWARE if booking online: these folks will take a reservation thru Open Table and then cancel it on you. Poor management? Lack of integration on the reservation system? Who knows? We booked a Finer Things tour for my wife for her birthday, which she was excited about. We got confirmation of the reservation, and then got an email with no explanation that it was canceled. I had to actually CALL them on the phone and their lame apology was "yeah, we didn't update the reservation system so we can't accommodate you." Who runs a business this shoddy? Apparently these guys. They didn't offer to reschedule (not that it would've been possible) or do anything other than express their own failures on the phone. These folks embody the old adage: never attribute to malice what can be chalked up to incompetence. Perhaps that's their saving grace. read more

We went with Whistler Tasting Tours and loved every minute of it; all the guests LOVED it. Bearfoot Bistro, Hy's, Quattro, Rocky Mountain, and FireRock -- so good! Our guide, Luke, was exceptional. My wife and I did the Hidden Gems Dinner Tour with Sonja, followed a few days later by a self guided Lunch Tour. I highly recommend this tour for anyone spending just a day or two in Whistler but wants to get a flavor for a bunch of the top places in town. Its like taking one of those whirlwind Europe tours (ie 9 countries in 14 days) and then coming back the next time and just spending more time focusing on one or two of your favorite places. (PS for us that is Stonesedge, note to the owners: include this place on the regular!) Booking was easy, and notably cashing in a gift certificate from eons ago was no problem. For some flukey reason we were the only 2 who signed up for our dinner tour so we got our own personal guide for the evening. Sonja was fantastic; she was friendly and easy to talk to, thanks to her the night went very smoothly and we came away with some great advice on things to do in town from a local. The small prizes and savings card at businesses around Whistler that we got at the end of the evening was a nice touch. We were absolutely stuffed at the end of each of the tours. Come with a massive appetite, or be prepared to doggy bag some of it. Our hidden gems tour went like this: Tapas at Elements --- 4 different beers and a pizza at the Brewhouse --- Entree plate at Quattro (salmon or veal) --- stop over at Rocky Mtn Chocolate for ice cream --- Cheese plate at Firerock Lounge. The self guided lunch tour went like this: Same cheese plate at Firerock Lounge --- Fudge at Rocky Mtn Chocolate --- Ox-tongue tacos at Stonesedge (amazing, best plate of either tour) --- Chili at Gone Bakery --- Lunch entree at Elements --- More Chocolate at Rogers Chocolate --- same 4 beers at Brewhouse (sans pizza). My only knock would be that there was a lot of overlap between the lunch tour and the dinner tour. My one piece of feedback would be for the owners to try to limit that for a couple signing up for more than one tour. Other than that great work! read more

Customer service at it's finest! After a bad experience that prompted an exasperated a review, I received a heartfelt email and follow-up phone call from the proprietor. He apologized and explained the circumstances surrounding our negative experience, the kinks of their lunch tour not yet having been quite worked out. I appreciated the follow-up and the refund credited to my card on file. I think that it is quite likely that our negative experience was not at all representative of the company as a whole an am inclined to trust the many glowing reviews of other yelpers. I would not hesitate to give the tour a second go were I presented with the opportunity. If I had a do-over though, I would probably drop the extra cash and go with one of the more expensive, but well reviewed, dinner or dessert tours. read more

My close friend is getting married in a month and her wonderful, super awesome MOH/sister organized this for her bachelorette. I have never been on a tasting tour before and I think this one has ruined me for all others. We met Joe at a gallery at 4:30pm. Bear in mind, you will be walking... this is no time to wear heels you teeter in. Life lessons learned--- like close your window before you wash your car or don't sleep with chocolate in your bed. To begin the tour, Joe hands out a pamphlet of the places we would be going and the wine we would be drinking, a savings card for the places we would be experiencing and a playing card. Throughout the night we got five cards and whoever has the best hand wins the prize. From the gallery, we make our way to the Barefoot Bistro. So pretty. Champagne bottles cover the entrance steps. We are taken down into the wine cellar and amidst the 20,000 bottle collection, our bride-to-be learns how to sabre a bottle. What is sabre-ing a bottle? I'm glad you asked: it's when you open a champagne (or for us commoners, sparkling wine) with a sword/dull knife. In one fluid motion, the cork, cage and lip of the bottle come off and it's drinks all around. Our guide at the Bistro answers all our questions about wine and such before we are given another playing card. Before we leave our first stop, we are able to view the Belvedere Room... a room made of ice that is filled with vodka. Another time perhaps? Again with the walking... we walk over to Hy's and are treated to a teriyaki steak appy. There is also the option of tuna, but I opt for meat. To pair with my meat, I get a glass of mystery white. To get an extra card I had to guess what I was drinking. I failed. The meat is like beef jerky, but soft. The sauce is wonderful. I throw down my chopsticks and grab my fork to scrape the bowl, but the waiter comes by, so I have to pretend I am dainty and he takes the sauce away. Another playing card and we are on to the main. We arrive at Quattro and thankfully there is bread on the table. I am a lush, a lighweight and I am hoping the bread is soaking up the alcohol. I get another glass of wine because I can... I think it was pinot gris... My main is salmon (I know, I said I love meat, but it came with arugala), the other option is veal. The salmon pairs fantastically with the arugala, wilting it just enough. I am gonna try to make this at home! It comes with the Quattro pasta that has beans and chicken and a slightly spicy sauce. I am up to my fourth playing card and still nothing. I ain't gonna win. As a surprise, we go to Rogers Chocolate for a treat. An ice wine truffle. I stuff (they're kind of big) into my mouth and let it melt. I was going to buy more, but I thought it might just get smushed in my bag since we still had to another place to go... Off to the Mountain Club for Panna Cotta. Wow. Wow. Wow. I am in love. With the little flecks of vanilla bean, it's like I'm just eating whip cream-- but better. It comes with fruit, but I am torn whether to mar the wonderful creaminess with the tart fruit. Being the glutton that I am, I ate the other half that one of my friends couldn't finish. I would have taken my spoon and tried to eat the others, but I didn't want to get punched in the face by their owners. I ordered a Pick Me Up (Espresso Liquor, Kahlua and espresso) because I thought I needed a wake up drink. They even gave me a mug of fresh made whip cream so I could add it to my drink. Another card signaled the end of the night. The bride won... I should have traded cards with people. I went to five places I probably would have never gone and all in one night. I definitely recommend splurging on this! Being in such a large group made it all the better. The restaurants and our servers with wonderful. Joe was so nice, we even invited him out with us... he got us onto the guest list at two different clubs. read more

My husband celebrated New Years Eve by doing the Finer Things Tour. We started at the Bare Foot Bistro's wine cellar which holds over 20,000 wines that are worth over 2.1 MILLION dollars. It was incredible just looking around at the different high end and very old wines (one from 1907). Our "group" was supposed to consist of 8 people but we were the only 2 to show up... shocking actually. I was not complaining because I was able to saber the champagne bottle. It was very cool and the stories behind the experience as well. The host of the Wine Cellar had a very impressive knowledge of fine wines, regions and good years. We learned alot. The appetizers there, although very small were very tasty! There was caviar on some small pita toasts, quail egg over a small bite sized salad and crab wrapped in ahi tuna. Next stop was Hy's Steakhouse. We sat in their bar/lounge area. This is a very classic looking steak house with dark wood and leather. Very nicely decorated interior. Our guide gave us a glass of Red Wine and we had to guess the type of wine we were drinking. The Pinot Noir was out of a nearby BC vineyard and was pretty good! We then had our second appetizer of cajun crusted ahi tuna. It was fantastic as well! Then over to Elements Urban Tapas where we were treated to yummy bruschetta, more BC red wine and a wonderful gnocci w/ sundried tomato's . Elements is a fabulous place with very reasonable prices, fun and relaxed atmosphere with delicious food! We came here another time on our trip to Whistler last week. After Elements we went on to Rogers Chocolate for an Ice Wine Truffle, it was a pretty quick stop on the tour and then were off to Mix by Rix Lounge for some Ice Wine and Cheese cake. It was a perfect way to end the tour. We had alot of fun with our guide who would hand out cards throughout the stops if answered the questions correctly and whoever had the best hand one a nice prize! It was a great evening with many stops at the Village's upscale restaurants and left feeling satisfied! read more

Of course Whistler is world known for its wonderful skiing and snowboarding resorts, but it also has an array of culinary establishments just waiting to be discovered. "But which ones should I try?" you might ask. Well, thanks to the ingenious and brilliant idea of two young men, Skai (pronounced Skay) and Joe, you'll be able to enjoy a variety of Whistler Village restaurants with this wonderful tour. From steaks to ahi, from lamb to desserts- you'll enjoy every moment of this tour. This experience is also a great way to meet others. You'll be joined by others who are also curious about the Whistler dining scene. Did I also mention "free" first round of beer and wine? I mean, come on... Oh, and be sure to wear comfortable and, possibly, waterproof/resistance shoes. The roads may be a bit slushy during the winter season. Good food. Good wine. Good people. Good times. Our guide, Sonja, was a knowledgeable and friendly host, taking us on our tour of 5 (plus a bonus stop) tasty stops around Whistler village. The amazing wine cellar at the Bearfoot Bistro was definitely a highlight, as was the blind wine tasting at Hy's. At every stop, the food and wine were delicious, and the overall experience was a blast! Finally, the main office was very understanding and helpful in addressing an administrative misunderstanding, and went above and beyond to resolve the issue. My wife and I had a fantastic time on the tour. We did the "finer things" tour. Tons of fun and great food. I'm a big guy and expected I would have to eat after the tour but I was happily surprised. Great apps and not only was there more than enough food, the main meal was very tasty. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local wine and Whistler venues. The Bearfoot Bistro was a hit. Since I now know how to saber a bottle of champagne it will be the only way I do it from now on. All in all, well worth the money for the experience. Awesome tour and a great way to experience the culinary or gastronomical side of Whistler. I wonder why we don't have something like this set up in Vancouver yet. The Bearfoot Bistro option was a hit. We went for a bachelorette party and they taught our bride-to-be how to saber a sparkling wint bottle! It looks so easy now! $150 for the whole tour with wine pairings may seem like a lot when you compare it to a 4 course meal at one restauarant... but it's Whistler and everything is more expensive here. Plus you have to consider the cost of organizing such a thing. Our tour guide was awesome and I really enjoyed chats with him. I wish I could have chatted with him forever about Gastown history and the Whister and Vancouver restaurant scene. But alas, the night had to end and there he went out of my life. read more

We were treated to fine food and wine.We did the Finer Things Tour and enjoyed a private tour starting with the wine cellar at Bearfoot Bistro. I got to saber a bottle of champage (open it with a saber!) and enjoy it with appetizers. On to Hy's steakhouse, Quattro, Roget's chocolates and Mix Bistro for amazing food and BC wine pairings. I booked the Hidden Gems tour with Whistler Tasting Tours for my 8 year anniversary. It was the end of shoulder season (they just had opened 8 runs) so there weren't a lot of folks around, and it was just my wife and I on the tour. No problem though, Mandy made it a ton of fun. We tasted some great food and wine and had good conversation with Mandy (yeah sounds kind of weird for an anniversary, but we talk all the time so it was kind of nice to have a 3rd party around). OK - if you are new to Whistler, this is a great way to find some hidden gems. We've been going to Whistler for years and were married on the P2P gondola last year. My new and favorite sister-in-law gave us the 5 stop tour as a Christmas present. We met Suzanne (our tour guide) at a local art gallery. She immediately set us up with a fun poker game (we were skeptical at first, but our competitive natures quickly kicked in). Our first stop was the Brew House, while we could hardly hear the barman tell us about the beers we were tasting, they were yummy and we had a good time. Next up was 'Elements Tapas'....O how I wish we could have spent the evening here. We had a small salmon dish and it was absolutely delicious. Put it on your 'Whistler places to visit'. Bavaria (a German restaurant, go figure) came next with a poached prawns dish - to die for!). Followed that with a visit to Kypriaki Norte and here's where it got interesting. We had been to dinner there the previous night and had already tasted the chef's specialty - the slow roasted lamb. So they prepared chicken souvlaki instead - yum. I'm not a big fan of this restaurant. Somethings missing and I can't tell what. I think the dining area could use an upgrade, but I won't complain. Suzanne pulled out the stops to make this work and make sure we had fun... We had some fudge at Rocky Mountain Chocolate (very yummy) and ended our evening with desert at FireRock at the Westin (which, lucky for us is where we stayed). Suzanne made our tour - she's a local (Pemberton), well-traveled and good company. We give her 6 stars! read more

Disappointed beyond belief. Booked our dinner tour months ago. Confirmed twice. Super excited. The day before we were to arrive, I received a call from a non- compassionate employee stating our dinner tour was cancelled. They could not find a guide. This left us incredibly deflated. The young girl on the phone was like 'oh well' and couldn't have cared less. I DO NOT recommend this company. Their lack of professionalism and compassion are astounding. read more

We did the Finer Things Tour with the wine pairing over the New Years Holiday. We were the only people who had signed up for the day so we had the tour guide all to ourselves. Ashley was an energetic, friendly, and knowledgeable tour guide and we really enjoyed learning more about Whistler from her. Overall, we really enjoyed the tour, but were hoping for more of an "insiders" experience and it was expensive based on the menu prices for the items we were served--so 4/5 stars. The champagne sabering at stop #1 was phenomenal--we will definitely be using this trick at our next party! Great salad and champagne here! At stop #2 (Hy's steakhouse) the appetizers were good, but the servers were stingy with the wine--if we pay for a wine pairing, we expect to each get a glass of wine, but we were both served less than 1/2 a glass. Stop #3 for dinner at Quattro's was great--fantastic salmon and pasta and wine pairing and great service. A quick stop at Roger's candies for an ice wine truffle (fantastic!) and then to Ric's MIX for cheescake and ice wine for dessert--a fun end to a fun night! read more

Going to Whistler for our first time and trying to find good restaurants to eat at was completely overwhelming! Just take a stroll through the village and you'll know what we mean.
