TL;DR/The Short Version: Good bubble tea not far from the waterfront. The Longer Version: I stopped by and got a small Brown Sugar Bubble Taro Milk ($6.49). I had initially wanted to get it without added sugar but I was advised that the sugar level of this drink was fixed. Fortunately, I didn't find it too sweet at all. The mashed taro is sweetened and the brown sugar tapioca pearls are sweet, but I don't think they added additional sugar to the milk, so I was a happy camper. The taro is warm, but even with the less ice I ordered, after I mixed up the drink it was sufficiently cold. Service was neutral, but efficient. The lone staff member seemed really disinterested in serving customers. I got my drink rather quickly. Although I noted I was the only customer in the store, lol. White Alley Bubble Tea is the only non-chain bubble tea that was within walking distance from our hotel room, so I really wanted to try it and I'm glad I did. Tried here for the first time- as love bubble milk tea but like to try different places as my favourite is Chatime- Anyway this was right behind them with the boba/ milk tea and pudding drink!! So good, And nice Uber special for milk tea bogo!! Very sturdy cups too! read more

Not too busy on a weekday evening. Fast service. Can be better lit to be a better work cafe. Otherwise, a good grab and go tea place. Good tea, which is prob the most important part. read more

Located a block away from my hotel, I gave this place a try. I thought my drink came with pearls, but it didn't, so that was a little disappointing. I ordered the brown sugar milk foam black tea half sweet,less ice. It was pretty sweet with the first few sips, then later on (maybe after all the ice melted?) , it was pretty bland. Had a nice fragrant tea flavor to it though. Pretty standard menu offerings. Fast efficient service. read more

Never did I think I'd find such good Halifaxian boba during my cruise's stop here. It's nothing against White Alley that I came in with low expectations-- in fact, it was probably better for them because I was utterly wow-ed. I ended up getting the brown sugar taro milk with boba after confirming with the cashier that the drinks were made with fresh taro (first green flag). Y'all... this drink was amazing. The fresh taro was exactly what I wanted, but even more than that-- the BOBA, guys. My boba preference is one that is bouncy and chewy, veering on the firm side rather than the soft side, and hopefully packed with some kind of sugary sweetness. This boba checked all the boxes. I thought they were cooked perfectly, had that brown sugar taste to them, and weren't so soft that they stuck to your teeth but also weren't so hard that your jaw was crying for you. I would have preferred just a little more brown sugar around the cup so that the brown sugar taste of the milk maintained itself while I was drinking the whole thing. As I consumed more of the drink, the milkiness started winning out over the brown sugar. The best taro milk I've had has been one where the taro and milk blend together. The only downside with this drink was that it was so difficult to get the taro and milk to come together. The taro was on the lumpier side, which adds texture to the drink and was yummy so I'm not necessarily complaining, but it did make it harder to merge into one drink. Because I was working so hard to mix the milk and taro in the beginning, the milk started coming out of the straw hole, so I had to take a few sips of just milk to clear off the top. It's an indication of how full the drink was but made the experience not as great. Once I got the taro and milk (mostly) mixed, though? Heaven, truly. I don't know if I'll ever be back to Halifax, but if I ever find myself back here I'm coming to White Alley first. read more

It was good tea, my brown sugar bubble tea was very rich and milky. My brown sugar tea needed more flavour, my husband enjoyed his. He especially felt he got value because his beverage wasn't all ice, but was still cold and flavourful . It took a while for the tea to be made. I wouldn't want to be in a line up. The server was polite and was able to answer questions we had about the menu. Compared to places I've been outside the maritime, the menu seemed a little limited. But they may be because they just don't have a market for all the fruit and smoothie drinks in all the more exotic flavours. The place was very clean, a common phenomenon in Halifax. I wanted to give it a three, but the bubble tea was so good it's bumped up to a four. read more

I tried their Sun Moon Lake black tea with 80% sugar and full ice, and it was really lovely! Exactly what I wanted on a crazy hot day, only thing I would change would be to get 50% sugar instead of 80% but that's just my personal preference! (I wouldn't recommend 100% unless you really love very sweet drinks) Also tried my friends Passionate Fruit green tea and it was tasty too! Again probably woulda gone for 50% sugar, but other than that it was lovely! read more

My friend and I went in and ordered the coconut milk bubble tea with the cream cheese foam the foam was okay. The coconut milk was so good as well as the add ins I got which was crispy boba. The lady that serviced us was so nice and accommodating she ran out of some things but that's just because we went so late. All in all I'd definitely go back again. The ambience was so nice the place was clean and it definitely smelt nice in there. Another thing to add would be she was very fast and efficient at making our drinks! read more

The bubble tea was not well blended and it was hard to mix together as a result you drank milk then flavor. The coffee was excellent, but the taro was awful. The staff was courteous and the place very well maintained. We are planning to try it again to see if we just picked a bad flavor. read more
