Starbucks may be my all time daily fave, but when I'm craving something hot and sweet I look no further than Second Cup in Bedford. The staff is friendly and efficient. This location is usually steady, but not crazy. The seating area is small, but never over crowded. A great place to grab a drink and curl up with a book. I only ever stop in for one beverage, but it's rare that anything ever goes wrong or that I'm unhappy with my one off from Starbucks.. ;)

The house coffee, T52, was very tasty. The shopkeeper introduced it to me as the "special double double," but I'd say it's the usual Korean milk coffee. It was creamy, pleasantly sweet, but not too sweet like the actual double-double. The matcha custard taiyaki was the star of all of these - the outer layer was super crispy (it even had some pieces fall off as the "chips," which I could use to dip the whipped cream and chocolate sauce on the plate). The taiyaki cake itself was just perfect. It was crispy on the outside but super soft and creamy inside, and very fresh and hot. The custard was sweet, comforting and delicious, which was perfectly paired with the outer buttery skin. I don't think anything else could beat this combo as the perfect breakfast. The shop was super clean, well-organized and comfortable. The service was excellent. I love this cafe. 4 stars because it's a bit pricy.

You get a view of the whole shop from up there which I simply love. The two people working were both very nice and happy to answer our questions. The tea was lovely as well. There are hundreds of loose teas, dozens of tea sets in every shape, color and design, as well as candles and incense. The owner was very kind and the whole experience left me feeling simply wonderful. Sawadee is a great place for gift shopping and acquiring every kind of tea under the sun.

This particular location (Seaport Market) is one of my stopping places when I hit the market on the weekend (which I do pretty often) and while my favorite JB is the North Street location, I do love this little second floor corner spot. Lines tend to be a little long but if you've ever had JB coffee then you know it's worth it. Especially if there is a music vendor playing nearby (nothing like a little bluegrass to keep your feet stomping in line). If you're lucky to snag one of the tables upstairs it makes for some great people watching and on a warm day hang out outside take in the view of the water.
