Not only did I find my dream dress here, but from the minute I came in I felt like family here. I highly, highly recommend this bridal boutique if you are in the southeast MI area! All of the employees are so sweet and genuinely invested in giving every bride the perfect bridal experience. Being a plus size bride, I struggled to find shops that carried dresses in my size and Mimi's is one of the few where I was able to actually try on dresses that fit. I ended up going for a dress that my mom found (mom always knows best!) and they worked with me as I turned a couture gown into a custom design specially made for me. They offer in-house alterations at an added charge and even though the prices are steep, the quality speaks for itself. For reference, my budget was $3,000 -my dress & veil combined ended up being just under $2,000 and I paid $900 for alterations (keep in mind I re-designed the whole top of my dress and had 15 bustles!) so I still came in under budget and ended up with a unique one of a kind dress that no one else has. Then when I came back to return the dress I was blamed for their mistakes and told I could only return the item for a gift card. Additionally the worker was extremely hostile and did not know how to work her own cash register and had to call for help multiple times. After issuing the gift card they told me that I would not be able to use the gift card because "their machine was down," essentially stealing $65 from me. Despite saying that they would reach out to me about the issue they never did and I had to call multiple times to resolve this issue. On the phone the worker called me rude (I don't know how trying to get a refund is considered "rude") and was extremely unhelpful. Finally they agreed to exchange the gift card for a different item (after 2 phone calls and 4 in store visits, I don't know why they couldn't have done this in the first place) This fiasco wasted me hours of time. Do yourself a favor and order a dress from somewhere else or head to a mall or basically anything but go to this store. If you must purchase something avoid interaction with Mary. She is completely clueless and obviously was not trained properly. When I returned to the earring section, where my friends were still standing, I was approached by an employee. She asked me if I had left the earrings over on the other side, where I had just returned from. Confused, I said I hadn't. She continued prodding me about the earrings (are you sure you didn't put them down, where are they, etc...) I then realized she was accusing me of stealing them. Just when I thought it couldn't get worse, she asked me to show her the exact place that I had set down the earrings (wtf) which I was able to do. She then walked away without even an apology. It goes without saying that accusing customers of stealing when you obviously have no idea what you are talking about is not only disrespectful, embarrassing (given that the store was incredibly crowded at the time), but extremely unprofessional. Sad to say I will not be returning to Verbena....clothes are cute...and employees usually professional and respectful.

I personally do not think this place should have been an option on antiques search. It.had a decent size store front located within the tanger outlet mall. That should have given it away but you never know. Large parking lot because it's a mall. There was a big store sign so you could not miss it. The store was well lit, smelled nice and had a free coffee station. There were sports items, clothing, signage for your home decor needs and trinketa glore but nothing antique. No one greeted us. We didn't buy anything. Just a popped in and popped out situation.

The place itself is cozy without feeling cluttered - the walls are a warm yellow. Please forgive my photographs because they don't do any justice to the beauty of the merchandise or the layout of the store. They have everything from civil war era items to stuff from the 1980s - prices range from a couple bucks to $500+. There are books to dvds to clothing to shoes to jewelry to glasses to postcards to furniture. I find things to be VERY reasonably priced. Many times I've picked up items, flipped them around expecting a cost I can't afford, and then being very pleasantly surprised to see that I can! Although I had the genuine intent of buying a fur cape and thus tried many on, Linda and Lynn (they even introduced themselves later!) didn't seem at all concerned whether or not I was going to actually buy something. This I liked a lot. Unfortunately, the piece I fell in love with was way out my price range (justly so). I am, however, already musing on how I can save up money for the buy in the future. A truly superb collection of hand-selected objects with wonderful shopkeepers. I come here to see what's new (nice things get snagged mighty quick so don't sleep!) and pretty much anytime I need a gift for any friend who appreciates old beautiful things. What a treasure trove.
