Food wise: we shared an order of Fried Mozzarella Sticks (4 star good, and they only needed just a bit longer frying to make the cheese inside creamy) and we shared an order of what they bill as the largest/best serving of fries in the world (another 4 star offering that was good, but barely fed two ... let alone being the "largest"). For mains: two of us had the Cruiser Burgers (both 5 star burgers), and the last in our party had the Blue Top Burger (4 star excellent with grilled onions). Just for fun, we also tried a Chicken Taco (3 star stuff, and not really their specialty). Our group had two shakes (5 star stuff here). As a drive-in, Blue Top also knows how to have some fun: they have live music outside from time to time, and they offer "cruiser nights" when customers can drive in their muscle cars and park in the attached lot. The brisket is still the star of the show. The spice rub on it is perfect, and it's so tender that it's unreal. The fries are exactly the kind of battered fries I like which was a pleasant surprise because I feel like not many places do them that way. The beans were okay... a little sweeter than I personally prefer, but they had huge chunks of pork in them that I definitely appreciated. We also added two slabs of ribs, and they fell right off the bone. I'm usually not a huge ribs person, but these were well cooked and flavorful. Mom loved them, and that's what really matters. We did have a few small issues with the order. We realized that our mac and cheese was unfortunately missing when we got home. They also ran out of pretzel buns midway through packing things up, so we ended up with a mix of pretzel and brioche buns instead. Honestly, we didn't mind that one too much because it gave us a chance to try both (I'd pick pretzel if I were you). When we picked up the order the place was absolutely packed, so it was hard to be upset over an honest mistake. They were clearly incredibly busy. I still don't really care for the sweeter sauce that tastes heavily like peppers to me, but their vinegar-based sauce (which I think is their original?) was much better than I remember. We were told our food would be out very soon. Twice. They brought my spouse's food out ...and brought me the wrong order. The server too the wrong order to the kitchen and several minutes later came out with my order. I tend to be very patient (retired middle school English teacher here), and I understand that the servers can't control the kitchen. But this was ridiculous. The manager didn't stop by, no offer of compensation, no apology. Won't be back for a while if ever.
