Wings are amazing. Recommend getting smoked with sauce on the side. Wish they offered a 10 piece. The come in 5,15 or 25.

Really good BBQ and Sides with quick service and good prices. Meat for 5 people $60. Rating. 8/10 Pros: Great Rib Tips, Quick service. Cons: Ribs were dryer (some people like that), don't forget sauces.

December's Tuesday special, chili mac & cheese, burrito, Brisket, mac & cheese chili and tortilla chips with a green onion creme, delicious. I hope they have this one on special again. It was awesome.

Came here for the first time on a Saturday early lunch afternoon. It is located in a strip mall where there are very few tenants and so the common parking lot behind. It is very large and full of ample parking. After walking in, there are lots of menus and be sure to take a look at the specials as well. While the staff was nice at the counter, I wouldn't necessarily say they were proactive or super friendly Food came out super fast. We only ordered two items and I think the highlight of the meal we definitely all the sauces at the self-service condiment bar. That also has the drinks that you also have to get for yourself. The tables are huge however it never got really crowded so we didn't actually have to do any communal dining, but I'm sure when they are busy prepare yourself for communal dining Pricing is very fair however, I did think the portions were a little bit on the smaller and considering the barbecue competition in that vicinity. This is still definitely a worthwhile visit and quality meats.

Smoked wings, pulled pork and smoked turkey. Very good. The fries and cold slaw were so good as well.

Great food and excellent customer service! I was in town for a business trip, and it was so good that I went back two days in a row. I will definitely be back for sure. .

    Double smash burger

My friend recommended this place. She stated they have specials throughout the week/month that may not be on the menu later. It was kind of hard to find because they are in back of another business. So you have to drive around into the lot. It's a Take out or sit down restaurant. I went during lunch and they seem to get busy during that time. There's about 7 tables for shared sitting and some tall table sitting. You walk in and order your food to go or there. They so sell beer for those that are interested. I had the double smash burger. It came with cheese, onions, and their special sauce. You can order a drink and side for an upcharge. The flavor of the burger was definitely there but the only reason I gave a 3 is because there was so much grease at the bottom of my burger it soaked the bun to the point it was falling apart and leaking grease. I couldn't even finish the burger. I did see a lot people order the brisket and smoked wings so next time I will have that.

Pulled rib sandwich with Mac and cheese and Bang Bang Shrimp.

Holy smokes! Amazing food from top to bottom. Got the daily special of pulled rib sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese; and the bang bang shrimp. The shrimp was cooked perfect and is a very generous portion for the dollar spent. Very clear why the sandwich is on the daily special list - succulent and delicious! The Mac and cheese had a nice crust and great texture. The service was quick and the cooks were very friendly when picking up the food. The restaurant was clean and had nice vibes with big tables. Highly recommended and a must stop when in The Region!

We recently ordered takeout from Bombers BBQ for a party of 7 and went with the X-2 Starbuster, which included 2 lbs of pulled pork, 1 lb brisket, 1 lb burnt ends, 40 wings, 2 full slabs of baby back ribs, and 4 quarts of sides. It was a lot of food for 7 people--we had plenty of leftovers that lasted us for days! For our sides, we chose the slaw, pork and beans, jalapeño cheddar cornbread, and sweet potato fries. While most of the meats were flavorful, we did find some of them on the dryer side, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it was a solid barbecue experience, especially for a big group, though we would have appreciated a bit more moisture in some of the meats.

$4 for that tiny order of fries.

One word, Disgusting! I have been going to Bombers since they opened. It was awesome, but the quality has gone way downhill since they opened. I ordered a brisket sandwich and a small order of fries. they fries themselves were $4, crazy. the cost of the whole order was over $20!! the Brisket was inedible, it was more dry than beef jerky. They are obviously re-serving meat that was smoked days before. Today's was worse that ever, I fed some to my dog and threw the rest out

Being from Texas, BBQ anywhere outside of the state is always hit or miss but Bombers in Hammond Indiana is definitely a home run. They have a clean industrial interior and counter service. We reviewed the menu for a minute and my wife chose burnt ends and a side of coleslaw. I opted for the two meat plate with brisket and burnt ends with a side of deep fried corn on the cob. It took a few minutes for them to get our order out but it was definitely worth the wait. The burnt ends are to die for and the brisket is perfect with a nice smoke ring and great flavor. The best thing about the meal is they are proud of their meat as they don't try to hide it with sauce although they have several sauces available it's up to you whether or not to use any. If you're coming across the border from Chicago you'd be hard pressed to find better Bbq than what Bombers is offering.

Three meat plate. PP, brisket and BE. Chili and slaw.

To get there from DeKalb by air, I had to dog-leg the flight over Cushing Field (to stay out of the Aurora and Lockport airspace) and then head east from there. Important note for pilots: If you are landing, try to make it to 9/27, or you'll have a long taxi up to the terminal where the restaurant is at. Once you are there (by AIR), you'll go to the far left end of the big building (you can see the beer signs in the window). Make sure you remember the CTAF (you'll need it to get back on the airport), and go through the gate, go up the elevator, and walk into the restaurant. Ambiance-wise, this place has large windows, a very large bar, a Namco Ms. Pac Man / Galaga game, bathrooms that are reasonably clean, some gambling machines, and decent food. I ordered their Pulled Pork Sandwich, which came with french fries. My wife ordered the Pulled Pork Plate, which came with cole slaw, garlic toast (2 pieces) and a green bean caserole. I ordered the pulled Pork Sandwich, and I ordered it spicy. It was not spicy by any definition. The amount of barbeque sauce provided was around a 1/2 of a shot glass. It was not enough. With that said, the barbeque was dry and needed the barbeque sauce. The fries were nice and fresh. My wife had the Pulled Pork Dinner. I sampled her cole slaw (with paprika, very good) and the green bean casserole - which seemed to use canned green beans, ugh. Very soft, the mouth feel was b l a h. Service was solid. We were greeted (walk in, no sign, sit where you want), and helpful. The food just wasn't as good as other barbeque places. I must preface by saying I have wanted to do this event for a long, long time. But alas work has made it nearly impossible to do. Time becomes a commodity as you get older. It's do or die. The latter is inevitable. Not knowing how this festival works I studied Yelp reviews. I joined a DLD Facebook to find helpful tips. Both were extremely helpful. It is basically a musical festival, a giant bottle share and people dressed as warlocks all in one. There are three levels of admission: VIP Deluxe, GA and one with just for the concert. Depending on your budget each has it pros and cons. Me, my suggestion is to get the VIP Deluxe. It is crazy expensive and goes fast. However, I believe it is the best option. So I got the regular GA, which is $200 hundred bucks. You get 4 DLD variant stouts and admission to the concert. Maybe to the casual festival goer this will seem alot. Once you get here you will experience something unique. A week or two before the event happens they mail you wristbands. Do not put them on. There is a QR Code which you have to attach a credit card to. It is a cashless event. It's just like the Sail and Sign on a Cruise Ship in theory. As you buy drinks, merch or food you use the wristband to pay for them. A quick few pro-tips. Do not bring lawn chairs. Know that you are going to stand most of the time. Before I go on, let me rewind a bit. The parking situation is not dire but get there as early as you can. Local businesses offer parking for $20 bucks. We were able to find parking within walking distance to the festival. Here came the kicker for me, they had a guy doing a DLD tailgate party. It's like a normal tailgating party but with free to sample beers. He had things I have only heard of in tales of lore. My next pro-tip is to bring a small plastic sample glass. Once you arrive staff is there to put on your wristbands for you. And they check all ID'S. You are allowed to bring in some beer and an unopened bottle of water. Bring the water! I will say the logistics and mechanics of it run really smoothly. The staff are extremely super friendly and helpful. Having only seen 3 Floyd's in pictures it is more vast than I had imagined. Every nook and cranny was filled with something of interest. There were tap spaces everywhere. Vendors. Food trucks. In the center of it all was a Viking Court, with the largest bottle share I have ever seen. They had a thing called, "The Wheel of Death." For twenty-five bucks you spin a wheel similar to "Wheel of Fortune." You can win beer, merch or even your name etched onto a keg. I thought about doing it but the wait was already a couple of hours in. Most of your time here will be spent standing in line for something. For beer. Food. Restrooms. The merch lines were insane. Fortunately for you when this happen there are lots of people dying to share their brought in beer. I will say a great deal of the drinks I had were from beer sharers. For the most part festival goers were friendly. However, there is finite seating here. Which makes the VIP Deluxe option more enticing. After a while I wanted to sit somewhere. Since seating is sparce I saw groups monopolizing available benches. For example a bench that could fit ten people was instead filled with 3 harboring stuff. You would eye a bench and people would place a hat, a bag to prevent you from sitting with them. I get it. My biggest critique is that they need to let festival goers bring in folding chairs. For example I saw people in various stages of drunkenness: stumbling or even passed out. Letting people bring in folding chairs would allow them to cool down. It would also create a more laid back vibe. It certainly has the space to do so. Quickly before I write more volumes the musical entertainment is extreme metal. The dance floor is filled with moshers and headbangers. If you are expecting bossa nova jazz you will be disappointed. By and large I did enjoy this event. Will I recommend it to someone? Absolutely. Will I do it again? Probably not. It's a young person's world now. The Dark Lord Day is a very, very unique experience. And I believe we should fill our lives with them. Was that a dude dressed as a wizard at the festival or was it in fact Gandalf? After a few stouts you won't know the difference.
