Below is a photo of my mothers headstone. After more than a year of phone calls and requests to fix it nothing is happening. In the area where she is buried there are broken headstones and the headstone next to her is completely out of the ground. All of the headstones are less than 10 years old. It's disgraceful.

An absolute disgrace... My dad and my blood are boiling. This cemetery is a joke. Majority of everyone you see is walking around looking for their loved one's grave. The owners clearly don't care about the people who are buried there. There is a map online and markers sparsely buried randomly in the grass. If you scour and watch closely you may be fortunate enough to find a marker. My dad and I walked around for 30 min before finally giving up and deciding to go back tomorrow, when the office is open. Also, some of the Graves are completely buried and covered up with grass. Please check out the photos. This left me with a horrible feeling...

It's an interesting lay out with some neat monuments, like the one by the mausoleum for the polar bear soldiers of world war 1.

The two people who came to the house to pick up at 4:00 AM during a snowstorm were very professional. The Funeral Director, Sherry, was empathetic and professional. There was no "sales pressure" of any kind. Sherry gave clear descriptions of all the services and prices. Everything was very clearly and compassionately explained. Once services were selected, Sherry carefully reviewed them and the prices. The prices were very reasonable. There is ample parking. The decor of the funeral home is attractive. The common areas and every room I saw were spotless. Every aspect of my family's contact with AJ Desmond & Sons showed caring and professionalism. I highly recommend AJ Desmond & Sons!

We went up soon after to discuss services and pricing. The place itself is gorgeous; bright, welcoming. Not stuffy or sad. You can tell it's been recently updated. We were comfortable in the lobby and in the consultation room. We were offered complimentary bottled water, which is nice when you're bone dry from crying for hours straight. We made it clear from the beginning we didn't want a funeral or even viewing service. The salesperson was respectful of that and moved forward with going over cremation services. The cremation service itself is carried out by another company and was only like $600? But for some reason, the funeral home charges almost $3000 on top of that for their time and services. That seems wild to me for someone who didn't want viewing, mourning services, visitation, etc. It's expensive to live and it's expensive to die. The salesperson was friendly and mostly respectful, although we could hear the misogyny when he spoke to my husband directly, and not his sister, who was actually handling all the business. Don't like that. But he accommodated all of our simple requests without fuss. Besides the oldschool mentality of our salesperson, it was a fine place to spend a couple hours talking about a dead person.

She had thoughtfully paid for everything 32 years in advance, intending to spare us any burden. Unfortunately, after the original funeral home owner retired and transferred her contract to another funeral home, I encountered a very distressing situation with them that was dismissive, rude, and suddenly demanding additional money despite previously telling me everything was fully covered. I was shocked, overwhelmed, and honestly heartbroken all over again. That's when I found Mr. Patrick Lynch and Lynch & Sons Funeral Home--and everything changed. I called after hours on Friday and left a message, not expecting to hear back until Monday. To my surprise, Patrick Lynch called me back within 10 minutes. He spent 45 minutes on the phone with me, patiently explaining everything, going over the other funeral home's statement line by line, and helping me understand what was actually going on. He was calm, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. More importantly, he genuinely cared. For the first time since my mom passed, I felt a sense of peace and relief. I immediately knew I wanted to move my mother into their care. The next morning at exactly 10 AM, just as promised, his son Paddy Lynch called me. From that point on, everything was seamless. Paddy was kind, attentive, and so easy to work with. He handled every detail with grace and professionalism, making a very difficult process feel manageable. They helped me create a funeral that was truly beautiful and elegant--far beyond anything I could have hoped for. Even though my mother was not embalmed and went directly to the church, everything was handled flawlessly. One of the most special touches was the Juilliard-trained violinist, Sonia they arranged, which made the service incredibly moving and unforgettable. The entire experience was handled with such sensitivity, dignity, and care. In a time of deep grief and despair, Patrick and Paddy Lynch were not just helpful-- they were a source of light, compassion, comfort, strength and steady support. They treated me like family, not just a client. My mother's funeral was absolutely perfect--graceful, meaningful, and filled with love. I will be forever grateful to them for guiding me through one of the hardest moments of my life. I cannot recommend Lynch & Sons Funeral Home highly enough. If you want compassionate, honest, and truly exceptional care for your loved one, this is the place to go.

I was married to my man almost 41 years and it's true what the saying says, life has a way of coming around full circle. I was born and raised in Clawson and after our Mother and Father passed away we bought the house from the estate and my husband died in the family house after many years of sickness. Every funeral home is going to serve you what they learned in mortuary school, hopefully. But the funeral home will take on the personalities of the directors. Just as the quaint township we raised our children the logo was, Serving the community country style, here in Clawson it's logo is, The little city with a BIG heart and I am quite convinced that Paul Gramer fulfills his part in that logo.

I completed the funeral services for my mother-in-law at the Gramer Funeral Home in Clawson in July 2024. As part of our family's customs, I plan to carry her ashes overseas next year for the immersion ceremony (Asthi Visarjan). When I submitted the application to the Consulate in October 2025 for a no-objection certificate to transport the ashes, they requested a cremation certificate with some specific information. I contacted Gramer Funeral Home for assistance, and Megan and Paul were extremely helpful. They prepared the certificate the same day--within just a few hours--and provided the required letter without any hesitation, even though a year had passed since the cremation. Their support, promptness, and understanding during this additional step meant a great deal to me and my family. Thank you, Navin

The funeral home (Rachel) would not return MULTIPLE phone calls from my funeral director. Finally my husband got a hold of her and told her to pick up the phone and call him. My father died when I was 10 and my mom stressed over and over the vault, plot, and opening and closing had been paid for. All three of us children heard that year after year. Fast forward 45 years later, and they can't find any proof of that, just the plot and vault. Unfortunately , we are having trouble locating the original paperwork after 45 years as well. Our funeral director finds it very odd that that wasn't paid for as well. Whatever, so now we have to pay $4k for the opening and closing which is SIGNIFICANTLY higher than other cemeteries. I have no choice as to pay that as mom wanted to be by my dad. Last summer this cemetery was a weedy, nasty mess. Nobody was taking care of it. By the way, has anyone bothered to fix the water spicket by the Rock of Ages area near the parking lot? It's been broken for like 5 years!!! Eventually when we clean mom's house out we will stumble upon that paperwork. She and her friend purchased this together so I know it was taken care of. I can't believe I have to leave my mother here. Please find another cemetery. Maybe they will use our $4k to hire a lawn crew.
