We hosted our daughter's baby shower there a few weeks ago, and while the setting is lovely and the food was delicious, the organization, management and service was lacking. Though the details of the shower had been thoroughly discussed prior to the event, on that day I found myself constantly have to ask to have items taken care of that we'd previously agreed to. Just a few examples: The mimosa bar was not set up and ready to accept guests at our contracted start time, and we had to frequently ask for refills of champagne and juice (as well as coffee). They never offered soft drinks to our guests. This made the event much more stressful to me and the other hosts (although the guests had an excellent time and enjoyed the shower thoroughly). I sent a letter detailing my concerns immediately after the event, but never even received the courtesy of a response. read more

We (luckily) had a beautiful wedding at White Eagle. The venue is amazing and is a picture perfect scene for a wedding. Marissa was great at responding to emails and answering questions. Unfortunately, those were just about the only positives. The bad: 1) Throughout the wedding planning process the other wedding coordinator was unhelpful and rude on multiple occasions. 2) The air conditioning was not working in the bridal suite the day of our July wedding... Apparently it had not been working for several weeks but they had no interest in fixing it. No one was around to help or offer solutions while we were getting ready in extreme heat. 3) We couldn't bring in our own food/drinks while we were getting ready. It was extremely overpriced for what we got and the order wasn't even correct. I had to hunt someone down to get the rest of the food we paid for. 4) The wedding coordinator was nowhere to be found the day of and night of our wedding. 5) There were not even enough chairs outside for the 100 person ceremony, many of our guests had to stand at the back. 6) The wedding coordinator flat out refused to help unroll the runner for the ceremony. She even went as far as to be rude to our officiant who had to step in with our photographer to get things ready. Wedding planning is stressful enough without having to worry if your wedding coordinator is going to be rude and unhelpful on your wedding day. There are plenty of other beautiful venues in the Naperville area - choose one of those! read more

Excellent Pasta night I loved the spread! My mom and her husband are members of the White Eagle Golf Club, they have top notch service. We've had " mother's day brunch "there and last night we tried their " Pasta night." I had the vodka pasta sauce with clams and scallops it was wonderful! I also like their butter white wine sauce with wheat pasta and I added mussels and scallops to the dish. I went seafood all night because well it was amazing! I had my wedding here in June and I have to say, I was very upset with the evening, but I was most upset with Lilian, the event coordinator. During the ceremony in the library she didn't put the programs out like I asked, she just left them on a chair near the back of the room so no one saw them. I asked her to get shot glasses at the beginning of the cocktail hour and she never did, so we were doing jager bombs and shots in wine glasses. Lilian didn't put out my book page confetti with the centerpieces nor did she return it. She left my husband and I to clean up and pack up all of our stuff, something she told us she would take care of. We asked her and the staff to turn down the AC several because it was hot as hell in the room and they never did. We ended up having to prop open the patio door. (We found out during dinner that she left for the night and didn't tell anyone) Some random staff member told two smokers that they were not allowed to smoke on the smokers patio because a couple complained while they were eating. They never set up our coffee station either and they misspelled our last name wrong on their marque. . read more

Most likely the only place i can continue to golf for the near future. I am in love with the location as well as the full bar downstairs. Something i wouldn't suspect was the amount of tournaments hosted here. Couldn't be happier with the staff, thanks very much. read more

My fiancé emailed the coordinator about information on renting the venue for our (gay)wedding. We were turned away because they don't do "LGBT" ceremonies. Went this place for a friends (straight)wedding 2-3 years ago and thought it was a great venue which we enjoyed very much. Guess they can't handle weddings overflowing with fabulousness! read more

Baby Shower in the Thomas Jefferson Library room. Great service. Brunch was absolutely delicious and included an omelette bar, waffle bar, and non alcoholic punch, among other things. Beautiful room with a beautiful view of the golf course. read more

A very fine private club. Very friendly, nice grill and locker rooms. The course is in immaculate shape. The fairways do not have a divot showing. The greens are tight and fast, no ball marks. The rough is thick. A great course, very challenging with plenty of water a sand strategically placed. read more

The Red Hats of Carillon Club of Naperville held their annual Christmas luncheon in one of the banquet rooms of White Eagle on Tuesday, December 10th. We have held these events there for several years because we have enjoyed the good food. I was unable to eat my Chicken Marsala and asked the waiter if he would bring me a container so that I could consume it at home. He told me that they no longer allowed diners to take their uneaten food home because it might cause health problems. I was dumbfounded! I said that I had paid for the meal, $30, and wanted to take it home. They again said that it wasn't allowed. I asked for a piece of aluminum foil and they said it was the same as asking for them to box it up and would not provide that. I finally went to the ladies room, grabbed a wad of paper towels and took them back to the dining room, passing them out to quite a few friends who wanted to do the same. What kind of facility does not provide for that request, unless of course, their food is contaminated. What about wedding guests who want to take home a piece of wedding cake? Ridiculous!! I will do my level best to see that our Red Hats Club does not book White Eagle ever again!! read more

I'm writing this as a guest of a wedding attended here. So I'm not sure if you can book this place without being a member of the club or not, or what the wedding reception planning experience is like. However, I will give the unique perspective of a guest of wedding. This place was beautiful. There is a large two story room right when you walk in where we had cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. This led out onto the patio. The view through the two story windows was amazing, as were the views from the patio onto the golf course. I really liked the option of being either in or outside. The ballroom was large enough to accommodate a fairly large wedding group and was set up so you could pass through to the restrooms and other areas of the club without having to walk across the dance floor. Overall, it was one of the better wedding venues I've been to which made for a very enjoyable reception. read more

I hosted a bridal shower here for my sister and the experience was fantastic. The venue is lovely, the staff was very helpful and accomodating throughout the planning, the service was excellent on the day of the shower - before while prepping as well as during the event, and the food was really really good. We just did a simple soup/salad combo plus our outside cake (for which they did not charge a cutting fee) and everyone was had plenty of food and was very complimentary of it (highly recommend the Pecan Crusted Chicken Salad). And for all of that great food and service, the total cost was extremely reasonable. A total homerun. Would highly recommend this venue for an event. You do not need to be a member. read more

We used White Eagle Golf Club for our wedding reception. It was a pleasure to work with them. We met with them multiple times including a food tasting. Every time they listened to our thoughts and had great suggestions. Lillian (the coordinator) was great! She returned my phone calls and emails very quickly and was very thorough and accommodating. I always knew what was going on with the schedule and any reception costs. The day of the wedding I had no worries whatsoever about how the reception would be. The staff during the reception were always available and checking on us. We never felt like we needed to track them down and they were quick to respond. When a glass broke on the dance floor, it was all cleaned up within 3 minutes and the dancing continued. The staff was so friendly and did a great job of making it a special night. The hall is gorgeous and is on a golf course. Your wedding is the only wedding there that night and the space is perfect. Giant mirrors are behind the head table and look so nice in pictures. The dance floor is very large and we had plenty of space (we had 150 guests). They also have 2 bars open so nobody had to wait too long. I would HIGHLY recommend White Eagle to anybody looking for a reception hall in Naperville. read more

On April 25th, my daughter had her wedding at White Eagle both the ceremony and the reception. We had white glove service from beginning to end. The whole event was so magical thanks to Lillian and Louie who work their tails off in making this day so special for the bride and groom, their bridal party, those families and guests who attended. As great team leaders, they lead guests into the foyer room for cocktail hour while the staff was clearing up flowers and hundreds of chairs out the ceremony area in the library room and making that room magically redesign into a reception area all in one hour time frame before the guest entered back for dinner. The white glove dinner severs dance with ease around each table, very polite, and had prompt timing to every course. Their work was stupendous from the time the bride and her bridesmaids arrived mid-day to dress at White Eagle all the way until Midnight when Louie and his team packed every wedding essential from the reception onto carts and then, rolled the carts to our car. Every moment the staff hustled with flair and eloquence. My husband and I could not ask for anything more. The service was impeccable! Bravo to Lillian and her staff in making this day so memorable for our family and guest! read more
