This quaint little place has been around for many years. The cheeseburger is spot on every time I visit! Seating is limited so get there ahead of the lunch rush. Their drive thru is unique: no remote menu/speaker, you just drive around to the door and someone steps out and takes your order and they make it while you wait. Not as fast as the national chain nearby, but FAR better... no comparison really. Take time to look at the framed newspaper clippings on the wall from years gone by. Having lived in El Dorado Spring many years ago we used to frequent this place. Traveling back to El Dorado took us on a trip down memory lane. I grew up in this area and you can't beat the white grill for authentic little diner. Burgers are just right with suitable amount of juicy grease coming out of it. Mainly burgers and fries - a few other options and breakfast if you're there in the AM, but burgers are their mainstay. Burgers were hand pattied to order - serves with their signature toppings of freshly grilled onions and pickles. But, you can special order them with the toppings of your choice. Their specialty potatoes are their QTs - fresh curly fried also made to order. We went classic - orders a burger and QTs (the husband did special order toppings - I stuck with the house toppings). When we arrived - about 12:30 - 1pm - they were almost full - we took the last available two-top table. The place is pretty small - although we read they expanded a few years back - MUST HAVE BEEN REALLY SMALL BEFORE! Unlike other folks that have commented on Yelp - our service was very good. Waitress was fast and pleasant - the food came out quickly too. Maybe too quickly! Our QTs could have cooked a bit longer - they were still soft - even a bit mushy. The burger was hot (as we're the QTs), and was above average - nothing really remarkable but certainly good. The restaurant itself needed a major cleaning - the dining area is in the traditional "diner" style - lots of shiny chrome and tile -- a design that is usually easy to keep clean. That said, I doubt the dining area has gotten more than a sweeping and superficial wipe down for a very long time. That will work for those that have an emotional attachment to the restaurant - and maybe for the "White Grill" that is enough - as I said earlier they were busy. But, I most likely will not go out of my way to be back because of the cleanliness issue - I strongly believe that dirty dining rooms and/or bathrooms INDICATES A DIRTY KITCHEN as well. read more

Long trip and even longer since breakfast, so this is a have to stop. Read the reviews and it seems like a decent place. Once we rolled up the place just says "Stop in and try us out ". Now a classic old burger joint established in 1938 told me something is about to happen that will be good. We both ordered the cheeseburger with the works along with shaved grilled onions. Also we both ordered Suzie Q's which are real honest to Pete homemade curly fries. This allows us to take in the atmosphere which has been updated a few times since 1938. But not much for sure. Heavy on the black and white tile and an old counter with the cool spin around seats. And the art work hanging is dead on old time diner for sure. But the logo reminded me of an old B-17 bomber nose art! Way cool! Now the burger. These were classic old time delicious burgers most likely cooked on the same flattop grill from so many years ago. The best highway burger ever. The SuzieQs are huge and really one order could have made both of us happy and satisfied. This is a must, I mean must stop for the burger addict on a road trip. This place is amazing! I discovered it using Yelp on a road trip--I was really in the mood for something besides the usual fast food. It's a trip that I make regularly, and I will from now on schedule my trip through Nevada to coincide with a lunch or dinner, just so I can eat at White Grill. The double with cheese and the Q fries were off the charts. Seriously, the burger was among the best that I've had in years, both in taste and in quality. There was a hefty amount of grease involved and I felt a bit off my game for the next couple of hours, but it was worth it! Next time I'll get a little less food. They have sweet tea. This cafe has only a few booths and barstools. It was quite lively with many happy customers and a long drive through line. The curly fries are cut in the cafe, and are a local legend with just the right amount of potato skin and crispiness. They are known by the old-fashioned name of Suzy-Qs. A cheeseburger plate is served with toast and you get to assemble it to your liking. Along with fries, the plate has a sizable bowl of cottage cheese. During a trip with my wife to see our daughter and grandchildren in Nashville we took a side trip to my parents home town of Nevada,Mo. We stopped for lunch at the White Grill where my dad had worked from 1938 to 1940. The White Grill lived up all the stories that dad had told me over the years. Breakfast was far from good. Ordered eggs, (crispy)bacon, hash browns & toast, w coffee. Bacon was floppy and not cooked enough for regular bacon, let alone crispy. Hash browns were not fully cooked, as some of the potatoes were still hard. Toast was more like warm bread, no toastyness to it. And coffee was extremely light & had a taste I can't quite put my finger on. The eggs we're fine. After delivering our food, we did not have anyone check on us until we went to pay.
