My experience at WLP was fantastic. I got a tour of the store and a feel for the different designers and styles they had available before trying anything on. I was able to select a few dresses that caught my eye during the tour to try on, and I also had a detailed and thorough consultation with the sales associate Heather so she was able to pull additional dresses in the style I wanted. I wasn't sure if I was going to fall in love with a dress but I ended up finding the perfect dress here! After I chose the dress I wanted, I was measured again to confirm my size and I also was able to add on a package to have their seamstress do any alterations needed. Overall, I had a wonderful experience. Everyone is very kind and accommodating and I felt comfortable throughout the entire process. I would recommend them to future brides! read more

The only good thing about this store was the sales associate Savannah, she seemed like the only person who really cared, yet was just a sales associate. My dress was purchased 10 months prior to my wedding and the whole process was just so awful. I felt like i was never heard, no one ever seemed to really care about my concerns, and i was told to "just adjust your dress and keep pulling it down all night long" when it didn't fit right 4 days before my wedding. I even had to spoil the dress to my husband a week before the wedding because of the stress & how the dress i purchased wasn't what i got. They kept blaming it on Calla Blanch but i signed a contract with WL&P so why i was given the run around constantly? I do not know. I ended up having to take the dress off the rack & 3 days before the wedding it had to be altered and fitted like i was an absolute mess & hated the version of myself i was becoming due to the complications of the dress when i thought i did the process right by going there nearly a year before the wedding. I wasn't even going to write a review but i had a client at work just tell me that they made her go to Joanne and get fabric because the $500 sleeves she ordered didn't come the way she wanted. Got my dress here and couldn't stand it every step of the way. It's a gorgeous shop. So many beautiful gowns. And the rooms are perfect for private events. But the staff are part-time school kids that can't wait to be done with their shift. The prices are sky high and you can't help but feel disgusted at the mark-ups. Do not expect more than 10-20% off the price during sales or negotiations. Try to visit their selection of sample sale dresses for the best deal. And by all means don't spend hundreds of dollars on a belt or a veil. I mean, really!!? My timeline got crunchy and despite the 'rush' notes in my file by the time my dress arrived it just sat on the rack. Until I called in to check on it. The transition from 'sell sell sell' shop goals to their house seamstress is very poor. It appears the seamstress had no idea of my timeline. As a result of course they kept racking up all their fees. I tried on my dress for my fitting and the seamstress without introduction or discussion just simply glared and coldly said 'Okay what do you want done?' After talking to other brides who also shopped there they also commented on the snobbery and bad service here. I cannot say they were snobby to me but oh man they spend too much time dishing out fantasies than understanding proper business transactions. read more

This was the second store I went to in search of my dress and I was so glad I came! Based on negative reviews, I thought everything at this store was extremely overpriced and not my style and everyone would be so unhelpful but that was far from the truth! Even after purchasing my dress, the seamstress was super helpful and the whole process was incredibly smooth! They were so accommodating, even letting her go to the front of the store to see it in natural light. They have a photo wall where our party posed. was expecting someone with general knowledge but our stylist was altogether unhelpful, no suggestions, and let the bride try on such egregiously too small sizes. they need to be up front about their lack of inclusive sizing and think about what it does to a bride's brain to put on a dress six sizes too small because that was the only available option in that size. the wedding party and bride made all the decisions with no knowledgeable input from the stylist. and she said she had been working there for years! she was awkward and made the bride feel rushed and insecure. All the other places we have been have been better experiences so I know these troubles are location specific. Also they were selling a veil for 500 more dollars than the same one at Vow'd. Arrived and was taken on a ridiculous tour of all bridal gown sections. At one stop the assistant told us that they were discontinued dresses so none could be ordered in. We chose a dress out of this section and after saying "yes" to the dress we noticed a small stain. Upon further inspection the dress was covered in what appeared to be coffee stains. Two hours we tried on dresses only to be told after we discovered the stains the section was not discontinued but "as-is". They wanted us to pay for the dress before sending it to a dry cleaner but if the stains didn't come out there would be no refund. I refused to speak to the assistant and the manager came over and informed me she didn't care if we bought the dress or not. She would have it cleaned and if it came back in better shape she would mark it up because someone would by it. I am not paraphrasing...these were her exact words! I would never recommend this place due to their trying to scam customers into buying damaged goods and their total lack of professionalism. This situation was very upsetting for my future daughter in law and should never have happened. Fortunately we were able to contact a nearby bridal shop that stayed open an hour later for us. I had appointments at a couple of other bridal places first and they just didn't feel right and nothing really felt like "my dress." I didn't even know if anything was going to feel like my dress since I had no idea what I wanted. We stopped into White Lace and Promises because we happened to see it driving by, and they got us in without an appointment and were so sweet and found me a dress that was more perfect than I could've imagined. They were extremely helpful throughout alterations and everything. I just had my wedding this past weekend, and everyone was blown away by the dress, and I felt like a fairytale princess in it. I wish I could give this store less than one star. We made an appointment to see dresses for my daughter's we showed up on time fully prepared to purchase a dress if she found one she loved. We were never asked our budget but she had no budget I want her to find a dress she loves and was willing and able to pay whatever price it took to find her dream dress. However, instead of a lovely mother daughter moment of finding my daughters dream dress we were treated to a real life pretty women moment several times I asked my daughter do you want to just leave because we were treated so badly she said no let's just get through this she did fall in love with a dress which I offered to buy for her on the spot she said she wanted to think about once we got into the car she burst into tears stating she loved the dress but she couldn't give such awful people her business. So disappointed in the altering service and customer service. I had bought my wedding dress from White Lace & Promises obviously for my wedding. I paid $300 for alterations only for my dress hook on my skirt to fail the day of my wedding. I had to walk down the aisle holding my skirt up (it was a 2 piece ). When I called White Lace and Promises and explained what had happened, the response I get is "well when you were here for your final fitting it didn't fall off so there is nothing I can offer you, you can bring it in and have it fixed if you want". WOW is all I have to say about that response. Why would I come pay your company more money to fix what the alterations lady Clearly put on wrong in the first place. I wish I'd taken the Yelp ratings a little more seriously instead of the reviews on Wedding Wire. The bad: I had called to make an appointment and asked some key questions about what to expect and what I was looking for- namely my max price point, the fact that I'm getting married in about 4 months so I need either a sample dress or a quick turn around time (I was assured they had plenty of samples to sell- in my size!- and could rush order my dress from some of the designers in that time frame). The lady on the phone was very pleasant. I also said I would have 5 people with me. Upon arriving I was blankly greeted with stares by the four ladies at the front desk. They resumed talking to each other. I inched closer to the counter and one of them asked what I was looking for. She seemed surprised that I had an appointment. After being assigned an assistant- the first question I was asked was when my wedding was- since it's in June I was given the shocked look that too often happens at boutiques (that's not enough time!) and was a bit surprised myself since I had already called and whoever I asked on the phone about this assured me this would not be a problem given the sample dresses in store in my size available to buy or the options from a few designers for rush orders). Surprisingly she did not ask my budget (isn't that a classic question in bridal shops?). She then settled us in a dressing room area and gave me some clips to put on dresses I'd like to try on. I found 5 and she quickly got to work helping me in the dresses (this is a +) In the room she asked me a few questions about my wedding location before telling me about her own wedding. Then here's the kicker. When I walked out in the first dress my assistant looks in the mirror and apologizes for her orange hair- that her boss just dyed it and that it was way too bright (none of us had noticed, as we reflected afterwards). She continued to play with her hair for a minute. Unfortunately this set the tone for the rest of the experience. I don't like to think of myself as a bridezilla, but really? I just stepped out in the first dress I tried on for my family...and all you can do is draw attention to your hair? Ah well...we all have our days. I tried on a few more dresses and she even brought me two others- that I actually liked! She told me she's been called a 'dress whisperer' and I will give her credit for choosing a dress I really liked and wouldn't have tried on otherwise. We ended up leaving without a dress- we left about the same way we came in. I think as they notice our group leaving the door- I didn't even get the name of my assistant or the info on the dresses I liked the most. It was a strange experience...maybe just an off day? The good: The store really is lovely! They carry a great selection from some fantastic designers in the mid range price point. I think most dresses I saw were $1500-$3000. The dressing room set up is also quite nice. There was one other bride in there at the same time as me and there was plenty of room- it looked like there were four total dressing rooms though so that could get crowded but I imagine they don't do four bridal appointments at once (may for bridesmaids and prom...). The bridesmaid dress selection was also very comprehensive and had a lot of variety. I didn't feel rushed- I tried on about 4 out of the 5 dresses I selected and she even brought me two others. She told me she's been called a 'dress whisperer' and I will give her credit for choosing a dress I really liked and wouldn't have tried on otherwise. After struggling through cheap gowns and pushy salespeople at David's bridal, WL&P was a relief. The salon is beautiful, and the staff (though young and stuckup) were helpful. The recommendation for me ordering a size 6 was shocking since I'm 5ft and 96lbs, but when it arrived, it fit. I would've never thought bridal sizing would be so strange, but my consultant helped me navigate it just fine. The dresses are high quality and beautiful. I would recommend this store to anyone who wants a lifelong treasure to pass on to your daughter. The major downside is the preservation company they use. They send your gown off to NY Wedding Gown Preservation Company, and they destroyed my gown. It came back gray and the lace was shredded, so maybe try a local cleaner. Overall, it's worth popping in if you have a decent budget. read more

I had an amazing experience at the store. The consultant I worked with was perfect! I came in with what I thought was the type of dress I wanted, but we both realized that cut and style just wasn't going to work for me. My consultant realized this and started bringing other types of dresses in. She was perfect at knowing what was working for me and what wasn't. I was amazed at how in tune she was with the whole process. By the end of my appointment, I was torn between two dresses and I could not make a decision. She knew this and did not to pressure me into making a decision that day. I ended up leaving and coming back the next day to try the two back on. I did not have an appointment but the two girls working quickly helped me as soon as I walked in. I was able to make a decision that day and they did a special cupcake ceremony. Even though my original consultant was not there that day, the girl helping me made it just as special. I love how they all work as a team there. I would highly recommend anyone to go and look at White Lace and Promises. Not only was the service amazing, but they had a great variety of dress selections. The day I found my dream dress was a great day. My sales associate listened to what I was looking for and was very sweet and attentive. Where everything went wrong....2 sales associates took my measurements instead of the alterations specialists. As a gift, my mother paid to expedite the shipping of my dress and also paid in full the day we ordered it. When the dress came in, I rushed to try it on out of excitement and was extremely disappointed. The dress was 7 inches too short and hit me mid-shin . The store manager came to address the issue and instead of apologizing immediately she cracked a joke and said, "are you sure you didn't want a tea length dress?" I did not think it was funny because my mother had paid $2500 for this dress, and this was the one and only time in my life that I wanted to have a dress long enough for me (I am 6'1" tall). The fix...the store manager told me that day that I would have to have a completely new dress because of the lace sheath overlay. This would've made me 100% happy, but it was a lie. A few days later, I received a phone call saying the manufacturer couldn't construct a dress in my size within 6 weeks. The next solution...the manufacture was going to send a completely new bottom of my dress. That also was a lie. One and half weeks before my wedding, I went in for alterations to try on my "new bottom" and to my surprise the alterations specialist had raw material that she was going to add length to my dress. I made 4 trips for alterations (costing me quite a bit of gas money) to finally pick up my dress the day before my wedding. The biggest disappointment...not one single employee/owner/manager at White Lace and Promises offered me or my mother the slightest discount off of this "patchwork" wedding dress. For the stress, worry, gas money, and ultimate disappointment....what a shame of customer service!!! Only 50% of my dress was correct...and since I had to settle for a patchwork, pieced together dress, I should've received a 50% discount for THEIR mistake. I appreciate...the time the lead alterations specialist spent trying to make my wedding dress "work" and I did not have to pay for the alterations. But I have worked in customer service and sales for 7 years now, and I truly value a business that will own up the their mistakes and do whatever it takes to make the customer happy. My experience at White Lace and Promises was absolutely horrible, and I would advise the owner and management team that they need to learn from my experience and make the right decisions moving forward to make their customers have a "Disney-like" experience. read more

Do not waste your time here. They are a small locally owned shop who does not care about the customers after they receive money from you. And they will try to get every penny out of you with fees. Also, they are so inconsistent... they will say one thing one day and something completely different the next day whether it's pricing, availability, shipping dates, etc. You can obviously tell that they come up with lies on the spot to get more money out of you or to get out of situations that they should be responsible for. When I was in there trying on wedding dresses, I had a great experience. I didn't find anything I liked and I ended up shopping in Atlanta. I went into WL&P again to purchase bridesmaid dresses and I had a great experience. After they get your money, their service gets more awful every time. 1. WL&P charged us a $45 rush fee for each bridesmaid dress so that the dresses could come in 1 week before the wedding. The dresses ended up coming in 2 MONTHS before the wedding. They make you pay for rush fees to keep for themselves. 2. Their in house seamstress is extremely rude. She makes you feel rushed and gives off the feeling that she has better things to do than measuring you. 3. They don't inspect the dresses before handing it to you. One of the bridesmaid dresses were not made correctly (bottom of the inside liner was sewn on to the upper part of the dress, making all kinds of weird criss crossing inside the dress making it impossible to wear the dress), and WL&P would not do anything about it. They simply told me to go get it altered somewhere. Shouldn't they be the one to take responsibility and fix it or at least reimburse me for it????? Had I actually paid attention to reviews of White lace and promises I would have had a heads up about the awful experience. I had a Tuesday appt. and I was literally the only bride in the shop. I received 5 blue clips to pick out 5 favorites and the associate carried them to the fitting room. I should have guessed this one going to be a poor experience when one of her first comments was to pick out a high-neckline dress "because it hides small breasts/cleavage area." Um. Okay-this is without me mentioning that this is any concern of mine! I'm a size b so it's not like I'm abnormally flat chested or anything-pretty average. And most bridal gowns are not usually designed to show off cleavage anyway. (The models are always flat-chested!) But whatever. I brushed this off. The experience REALLY started going downhill after I tried on my first 5 gowns and didn't like those or the (1 or 2?) other gowns she picked out for me. So I left to look at the rest of the selection (I had only made it through about 3/4 of the shop with the first 5 choices). At this point the associate seemed highly annoyed that I wanted to continue trying on gowns, she literally laughed/scoffed in my face when I brought two more dresses back to the fitting room, at that point I was actually angry. If you don't enjoy helping brides find their gown why are you even in this line of work?! She seemed hugely inconvenienced by the fact that I was trying on bridal gowns in a bridal store (literally WHY people come!!) Her whole attitude was extremely condescending and poor in general. Once again, I was THE ONLY PERSON IN THE STORE and was in the shop less than 1.5 hours total. I don't feel like that's an excessive amount of time or anything. Not to mention every time I made a comment about any of the gowns the most response I got was a "Yeah" or a light chuckle. No helpful info, no information about any of the dresses/company/fabric, nothing about my wedding in relation to the dresses. Now that I'm thinking over the whole experience I don't think she ever made one positive comment about any of the dresses or how I looked in them. Just wow. Overall, a horrible experience. If you want friendly service and people who seem like they actually want to help you look beautiful and your best, do NOT go to white lace and promises. I bought the dress of my dreams here. I went to just about every bridal shop in Knoxville and this was by far my favorite! It feels like a cozy little home when you are in there. The dress selection is huge, with every type of gown you can imagine. They also handle alterations, steaming pre-wedding and even cleaning and preservation after your wedding (which i just found out.) Some of my bridesmaids bought their dresses here as well. My MOH lives in Knoxville and during one of my trips to visit, we decided to check out bridesmaid dresses for my wedding. When we walked in we were helped immediately by a very pleasant employee who set up a sheet so I could call back in the next day with everyone's measurements. This is when things started to go downhill... I called the next day and was told I could give them the measurements, but I couldn't make payment and therefore the dresses couldn't be ordered until the person who helped me came into work the following day. This was slightly contrary to what I was told since I was told to give the measurements the next day to insure the orders were ordered before what would be considered rush shipping. I called back when the original salesperson was at work, she took down my measurements again and expressed surprise that the measurements were already with my paperwork. I explained my previous call and she apologized profusely as that was not something that was supposed to happen. At the end of one of our emails I was told I'd receive a follow-up email from her within two weeks to give me the ETA on the dresses, but she thought maybe early July. Fast forward three weeks later and I still haven't received an email. That's okay, things get busy, so I email to inquire. In that email I was told the dresses would arrive at the "very, very end of May or very beginning of June". Imagine my excitement when told the company shipping out the dresses would have them there a month-month and a half earlier than thought. Progess to the end of May/earlyJune when I take a week long trip down to Knoxville. I called mid-week to see if the dresses were in and was told they wouldn't be in until mid-July. WHAT?? I explain what I had been told via email and she put me on hold to get more info. After she came back she told me the dresses would actually be in by mid-June. Mid-June arrived and passed and I still hadn't received a call or email from them. My MOH calls them last week (25th-ish) to ask for an update and was told they should be shipping from the distributor at any time. I receive a call yesterday from WL&P to let me know that they should be here by the end of this week. I receive a guarantee that they would actually arrive this week and then express my frustration and disappointment with the lack of communication and delay and how now my bridesmaids now will have very little time to seek any alterations if needed. The response? The original person must have confused her dates (please note that at this point several people have said the dresses would arrive mid-June or earlier) she offered to ship them to the bridesmaids at $20-25 a dress. Not acceptable. They arrived that day and my MOH picked them up to mail. With insurance all of the dresses cost less than $30 to mail out. TLDR: If you chose to go here make sure you order the dresses at least six months before you need them, prepare to have to follow-up with them, don't trust the dates they quote, and it'll help to have everything in writing (I was glad I could quote back exactly what was sent to me). read more

I interacted with white lace and promises about bridesmaids gowns for my upcoming wedding, and left with a bad taste in my mouth. I had already decided on a bridesmaid dress, which they stock, and called to ask for a quote for that dress. This is a request I have made of about a dozen other stores, both in Tennessee and elsewhere, with no problem. The salesperson told me that it was not their policy to give out prices over the phone, and that no bridal stores do that. When I explained that we already had the dress picked out, and quotes for the price from other stores, and I didn't see the point of making an appointment to go visit there if their price wasn't lower than the other stores, she told me that no boutique would give out quotes, and then insinuated that the dresses from the other places were probably knock-offs. What a bogus, hard-sell, pushy tactic. Far from making me feel like my business was important, they made me feel cheap for simply wanting information about a dress that I had already made my mind up about. Not pleasant. read more

This place is so beautiful with all of the most beautiful dresses and the staff were great. However... buyer beware... Once you say yes to the dress, you will be required to sign a form that states you will not receive a refund--under any circumstances.... We bought a beautiful dress for around $3000. We hadn't had any alterations whatsoever and hadn't picked it up. We had some major family issues and had to cancel the wedding. After trying to see if there were any exceptions, since we hadn't even touched it yet, the answer was no. There are no words when there is an issue like this.... There should be some kind of grace in this "rule". So in the end, the customer service here has scored an F in my book.... read more

Yes, we were a little early, but you know, normally as associates walk past you, they ask you if everything is ok, if you want some water, how's your day, something. No, none of that. I walked in on a Saturday with no appointment and they were more than happy that I could come and they squeezed me in. I was not expecting to get an appointment seeing that Saturdays are the busiest days to look for dresses. They started my appointment about 5 minutes after the start time. I was given 5 blue clips and got to pick the dresses of my choice. My consultant also picked out dresses she believed would look good on me but also what I described that I wanted in a dress. They have great quality dresses and a large selection. I liked the dresses that my consultant picked out for me the best! She knew what would look good even if I wouldn't have picked them out myself. She also stayed within my budget which was very important for me. I never felt rushed or that the consultant was annoyed at any point. I tried on 7 dresses and found my dream gown within them. They measured me carefully and discussed which size would be best for me seeing that I was in between sizes. I chose the size I felt that I would be most comfortable in. Great Experience. I am completely disgusted with the business. I purchased my dress with promises made and documented. I bought a dress from the rack - I knew there was some issues, the biggest being several noticeable stains. I told them I wouldn't spend that much money on a stained dress. At that time the assured me that it would be cleaned and perfect. I signed off knowing it had a few snags in the lace and was told it could be touched up and a missing eyelet, which was replaced. I asked repeatedly about the stain removal and asked her to be sure and document my account that it would be taken care of, I was promised it was. Last fitting, an adjustment had to be made to the bustle (which I didn't want but wanted the train cut down but was advised against) so she pinned it up. When I went to pick up the dress, we were assured it was stain free and perfect. Perfect was the exact word used. The dress was wrinkled, the train had been knotted in the garment bag, the stains were not touched and now I have 2 rather large pulls in the train from the pins. Since I signed off knowing about the pulls (lace) and stains they conveniently didn't document that it would be stain free or they would call before desperate measures. Well I got the call today after taking it back that it can't be cleaned. Cleaning it will leave water spots and make it worse. I get married on Sunday - less than 48 hours from now. So now it's damaged and stained. No remorse, no I'm sorry, no help. Nothing. I could have bought a stained dress at Ollie's for 50.00 and had it cleaned but instead I spent 1500 (which they said was low end and off the rack) But I can tell you that I would NEVER have spent that kind of money on ANYTHING that wasn't promised as perfect. I have 4 witnesses to the promises and condition of the dress but that doesn't matter either. Lot's of empty promises and my hands are tied. I will be contacting Don Dare and other news outlets and using every media platform available to make sure people are aware of the their lies and customer service. Shame on me for trusting what someone tells me and repeatedly assures me of just to make a sale but didn't document accordingly as promised. Even speaking with their manager, Helena, her story has gone from yes we were supposed to clean but the girl didn't and failed to pass it along to we are tried to clean but now calling you to tell you we can't as we promised....Really? read more

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYBODY!!!! The girl that helped us was SO rude and did NOT listen to what I wanted ordered for one of my bridesmaids. Her dress ended up being 4 dress sizes too big and was so big that it couldn't be altered down enough. I told the girl to go with one size and she guided me completely wrong and talked me into going with the bigger size and then tried to blame it on me.. as if I don't have enough to stress about right now. The jury is still out, dress has been ordered , actually came in yesterday. The experience has been less than enjoyable. They certainly are not ones to put anyone at ease or go out of their way to make this an enjoyable experience. Pretentious, judgmental, and just not nice. That's after spending $2000 on a dress!!!! We'll see how the rest of the experience goes. They ordered the dress HUGE if they get the alterations right and don't try to charge extra for them (because THEY are the experts and THEY took the measurements and insisted THEY know what they are doing ) May adjust the review up or down depending on how things go from here. At the very least they need to instruct their personnel to be less snooty and actually pretend to care. read more

SIZE YOURSELF or get professionals to size you. These ladies are not using the correct size chart for their Bill Levkoff bridemaid dresses. SO disappointed by my experience because I really liked the dress-- had to get expensive alterations to fix the problem they created for both me and the only other bridesmaid that used this bridal shop. I'm 5'2 100 pounds and could not fit into the 0 size dress they ordered me, they suggested my body had changed and assumed it was on my end. I got remeasured and we called around other bridal shops and discovered-- If they had gone off the public published size chart I would have ordered the correct dress in the first place-- they claimed they had a special size chart from the designer. (it was a whole size off!!!) First bad review I've ever left, anywhere-- I hope they learn something from it...and I hope both me and another bridesmaid get our dress altered in time :( read more

At first, I was upset when my dress came in too big, but Chasta at White Lace and Promises went out of her way to make things perfect for me. She quickly set up an appointment with her in-house seamstress to arrange the alterations that accommodated my crazy schedule to ensure that my experience was positive and wonderful. I went here on a whim for my first time trying on dresses. We walked in without an appointment and they graciously walked us through the entire process as if they were waiting on us. I tried on many dresses, and unfortunately didn't like any of them. Leaving upset I went to several other stores, only to come back with a clear mind again a few days later. The same girl was eager to help me, and with a little more of an idea of what I wanted we found the perfect dress after trying on only 1 other dress! There sales associates could have been a bit more helpful getting me started but once I had a clearer image of what I liked everything went super smoothly. I have never been so disappointed in the customer service displayed by White Lace and Promises. The brides mom and sister drove all the way from Florida to help shop for wedding dresses. We happened to find the dress earlier in the day at another bridal store. When we called to change the appointment from a bridal gown appointment to a bridesmaid appointment they were happy to do so. Later in the day, they sent a text canceling the appointment and said that they do not offer bridesmaid dress appointments on Saturday and we could reschedule for another day. They did not even have the courtesy to call. Knowing that the brides mom and sister drove 8 hours to be here today, we went anyway. Upon arriving they were extremely rude and told us we can only look and not try on dresses. After reiterating how far family drove to be here with us, they said we could look but would have absolutely no help from any of their associates. It was very disappointing to feel like we were treated so poorly simply because we found the brides dress at another business. read more
