It was very hot, so we drove up to near the ski area and the temps went from 93 to 66, very close. Lots of restaurants snd shopping around, so close to everything. Park is gravel on concrete. We had shade trees and some parts are really shady. Hosts are very nice and great tour guides. We didn't use the baths but laundry good, $2 load. They have a dog walk up front and a giant dog park about .3 mile from front. It's a walk, but nice. Wifi is pretty much non-existent. Tried to pick up local channels thru air since no cable, but couldn't get any locals. Had to stream Cowboys/Buccs game via ATT but still blurry. Probably a good thing. If you are in Santa Fe to sightsee, this is a great place. Go to MeowWolf. Eat at La Choza. Get Bryan's Auto Detail to come clean your RV.

I have never seen a harder working team of people, raking, mowing, watering, and going the extra mile to just be good humans!! All that said is this place perfect?, No. - but is there truly a perfect in-city RV campground? No there is not. The main problem for me is the noise from Cerritos Blvd. Nothing can stop this as young New Mexico drivers seem to be "praised" and "adored" for removing their mufflers from their cars and racing away from every stop light. All this leads to my initial point. This campground was likely plotted in the 1950's when this part of Sante Fe was ranches way outside of the metro and road noise was never an issue... The vintage-ness exudes from this place and provides it with its charm - It brings back memories of road trips in the backwards facing seat way in the back of the Country Squire Station Wagon and Olds Vista cruiser wagon - Even visits to summer camp in the 1960/70's. This campground is actually a tiny piece of Americana that will be lost in a few months, never to be again. Beautiful tress to be eliminated and vintage adobe buildings to be razed. If my information is correct, this is the last summer, and this site will fall to the hands of developers to build another ugly mini mall or faceless and devoid of personality condo buildings. A sad farewell to the place and to all the people who have kept this place all these years - PLEASE DO STAY HERE until it all ends. I am unsure of the dates.

This one was a great base to see destinations such as Santa Fe and Los Alamos. There were few amenities available and we weren't interested in them. While, we didn't have a picnic table (a few sites did) or trees, the sites are huge and so easy to get in and out. We had a pull through site that was around 60 ft. and had plenty of space from the neighbor's rigs. And they move a large amount of RVs in and out, we were amazed how many would go through. If you are looking at a nice place to go see the sights, Roadrunner is a great park to chose. The gentleman that helped us check in and took us to our site was very nice and helpful. He gave us the basics on the area if we were looking for restaurants or entertainment. While the place doesn't have the cushy spots others have, it is a great place to stay close to tourist spots in the area.

The campsite has access to a number of trailhead, including the main trailhead to Jemez Falls and a few of the Hot Springs in the area. During the colder months, they keep the gates closed, so people walk the road to where the trailhead starts. Even in April, where most of the snow has melted they still have the gates closed, and the campsite is not monitored. It really sucks because that extra is not super fun and might kill a little bit of your energy for doing one of the hikes. The Falls Trail is a rather short one but watch out for rock and pinecones. I don't think the Falls are worth a much longer hike. They're pretty small. I really wish they would leave just the access to the Falls open during the day even when the campgrounds themselves are closed. But again at the end of the day, it's free, its nature and definitely worth enjoying. On the camping side of things there is a website and you can make reservations really easily.

There is a on site dump station. We were offered free firewood! There is a nice pond for fishing and there is a boat ramp. Not sure if they allow motors. There is an updated playground, and a basketball court, with a basketball available so you don't need to bring your own. The shower house is clean but not heated, with two showers. The price is as cheap also at only $20 a night. The only downside is the train tracks you have to cross when entering but we only heard the train once or twice the entire weekend, and luckily not at night. Will stay again!

The Santa Fe room that I stayed in was charming and clean. The one critique would be the shower. It's very tight quarters and the shower head was stuck in one direction. But the next time that I come I will just bring my own detachable shower head and problem solved. The bed was very comfortable and I slept great each night. The walls are nice and thick too, so it was very quiet overall. The only sound I occasionally noticed was neighbors opening and closing their door, which is pretty minor. I stayed on the casita side of the property, and honestly it ended up being one of my favorite hotel experiences. It felt charming and cozy while still being extremely clean and comfortable. The staff were also incredibly friendly and personable, which made the stay even better. It's clear they take pride in the property and making guests feel welcome. If you're visiting Santa Fe, I highly recommend staying here. It easily beats the big chain hotels and gives you a much more memorable and local experience.

Our tour guide was Samantha and she did a great job. They have done a beautiful job maintaining the site and hiring local tribe members. Overall, it was great to walk through the ruins and while terrifying to get to, it was so cool to see the cliff dwellings up close. Definitely have to be moderately fit to make it down the hill but they do have the option to take the tour van they use to get us to the top back down. That said, if you don't climb down you miss the best part of the tour. I recommend wearing clothes that you can rinse off easily (I had an athletic skort on which was the perfect material to dust off).

When we found Hotel Chimayo, the pictures looked charming online. They made it seem like it was a quiet, comfortable, and pet-friendly place to stay. Unfortunately, the only thing that was really great was the underground, gated parking garage. Otherwise, we debated checking out an hour after check-in to find another place to stay. First, they claimed that it was going to start snowing in seven weeks and that they shut the A/C off in preparation for that - we suspect the AC is actually broken. It was 89 degrees during the day with no air at all and at night, the air was so still from zero cross breeze that sleeping was very uncomfortable. We asked for a fan and they said they gave the last one away. Second, the rooms are old - there's sagging and water stains on the ceiling, the bathroom is clean but dated to a point it doesn't look sanitary; and the bed and pillows were like sleeping on a plank of wood (that's a personal preference though). Third, the location is in a very loud section of town. It's clear the locals do not like tourists and as such, rev their engines down the small street at all hours. Fourth, there is no pet relief area. You have to walk a block down the street and across to a park that is hit or miss on it being safe. My suggestion: Find a quiet rental near the churches or an inn, in that direction instead.
