Tried to pick up local channels thru air since no cable, but couldn't get any locals. Had to stream Cowboys/Buccs game via ATT but still blurry. Probably a good thing. If you are in Santa Fe to sightsee, this is a great place. Go to MeowWolf. Eat at La Choza. Get Bryan's Auto Detail to come clean your RV.

I have never seen a harder working team of people, raking, mowing, watering, and going the extra mile to just be good humans!! All that said is this place perfect?, No. - but is there truly a perfect in-city RV campground? No there is not. The main problem for me is the noise from Cerritos Blvd. Nothing can stop this as young New Mexico drivers seem to be "praised" and "adored" for removing their mufflers from their cars and racing away from every stop light. All this leads to my initial point. This campground was likely plotted in the 1950's when this part of Sante Fe was ranches way outside of the metro and road noise was never an issue... The vintage-ness exudes from this place and provides it with its charm - It brings back memories of road trips in the backwards facing seat way in the back of the Country Squire Station Wagon and Olds Vista cruiser wagon - Even visits to summer camp in the 1960/70's. This campground is actually a tiny piece of Americana that will be lost in a few months, never to be again. Beautiful tress to be eliminated and vintage adobe buildings to be razed. If my information is correct, this is the last summer, and this site will fall to the hands of developers to build another ugly mini mall or faceless and devoid of personality condo buildings. A sad farewell to the place and to all the people who have kept this place all these years - PLEASE DO STAY HERE until it all ends. I am unsure of the dates.

We arrived with a serious electrical problem, and Nathan - the owner/manager - promptly helped us by re-wiring temporarily, so we could have air-conditioning and electricity for our two days stay. He then called Albuquerque, New Mexico - which will be passing through after we left this location - and ordered us the electrical component to fix our RV. Because we would be arriving there on a Saturday, he also made arrangements with a mobile RV tech to install that part! Everything you want is at this location; from a wonderful restaurant, to laundry facilities, to conveniently located for the recreation facilities nearby, and a wonderful store. Nathan would not take a penny from us, for helping us!!! I cannot tell you how my wife and I, and dog, appreciated all he did for us, to make our stay just fabulously wonderful!!!! My wife and I arrived at Golden Eagle RV Campground at about 9:15 pm in the evening and I was…read morepleasantly surprised to find a young man by the name of Nate still up waiting for me to arrive. He had me follow him to our site and then continued to help us get situated. I found this to be pretty much the standard as Nate was always helping someone in the campground. We fell in love with Golden Eagle the year before when we met Bruce and Bridgette (Nate's parents) who told us they would be passing the campground on to Nate and Lisa. Sometimes you worry when you get that kind of news. But we found that nothing has changed in the warm and professional atmosphere, and the changes that Nate HAS made to the facilities are awesome. It's a fun and unique place to visit. Always something to do with local vendors showing up on one day with their homemade wares of jewelry, fresh bread, jams and beef jerky and then some really great musicians and singers on another evening. (Take some time to look at their events page.) And don't miss the evening movies. Just prepare to enjoy the fun. One of the nice surprises for me was their Grill where you could enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch and/or dinner. I started with breakfast and the sausage was the best I had ever eaten - and I'm a Cajun boy. I had a great cheeseburger for lunch and my wife had, she said, one of the best chicken salad sandwiches she had ever had - but were not able to stay for the beef brisket special for that week. Hopefully it will be back when we return. (I believe you can see a copy of their menu on their website, but the specials change weekly.) In any event, we had a great time and will be returning in a few weeks for the balloon launch. I can't really add anything to some of the other nice reviews that give you more detail about the facilities, but Nate and Lisa were great and always accommodating - just good people and a joy to be around. The web site and the handouts both said winter hours were Nov 1 to March 31st. We stayed Nay 1st! If we would have known that, we would have stayed elsewhere and probably for less $. Next time I won't trust what I read...but call ahead. I've been a loyal KOA member for quite a few years...this really dissapounted me. I've always felt good about staying at KOA's and never felt I had to 'call' to check if the advertising was correct!

The laundry had a great gallery of Route 66 images, the K9 fence was actually tall enough for our big pup, and the staff were friendly as you always hope. The social area outside the store was nice and shady, and the playground was adorable. We got to see a bluebird, and the park had some bird watching pics up front. BYO grown up drinks (and as always, don't act like a rookie), or enjoy the cold ones available at the store. Cute local souvenirs and camping supplies were plentiful, and that pizza oven kept going during our stay. It looks like they're busy adding more pull through sites, so we might get lucky enough for a longer stay next time. No pool, but you'll be busy with Santa Fe anyway. Las Vegas highway was a perfect connector to both the city and Pecos National Historic Park. Happy kid, happy pup, and happy us here at this KoA.

The accommodations are getting better and better every year, the Golden Pinon restaurant on the property is delicious and busy with locals. Playing at altitude is always a great challenge and the "high altitude" balls sold in the pro-shop are a necessity. Can't thank Kurt or his staff enough for all the fun days spend at the Quail. As a friend said, "this is summer camp for adults!" I am not planning on growing out of summer camp style anytime soon. Cheers.

They are also highly-rated in the nation for their ability to provide competition for players of all abilities. Kurt is the head pro and owner of this facility who can also rent you a courtside condo. We were visiting Taos to see the tourist sites, but were pleasantly surprised to be able to get in some enjoyable tennis. We would like to go back for a week-long tennis vacation.
