I spent most of my life saying, "I'm not a cat person." UNTIL, I found out I VERY much AM a cat person. ;) I fell in love with my little girl soooo quickly. I was a wreck the morning I dropped her off to be spayed. The staff at White Rose really did make me feel much more relaxed and confident. I hated, HATED leaving her, but I had no doubt I was leaving her in good hands. It is important to show compassion and care when working in this sort of field. White Rose does it well and I never felt like they were pushing ALL the services on me that so many other vets have in the past. read more

I wasn't upset when the vet threatened to give my 4 year old child a shot for not sitting still in his seat after being stuck in an exam room for over an hour. I wasn't upset when they made us sit for over an hour before putting our dog down. I wasn't upset when the vet sent her teenage daughter in the exam room to put a catheter in our dog for his euthanasia and as soon as she sat down said "I don't know why they're making me do this, I'm not good at it" She tried twice to put a catheter in him and failed. Walked out of the room and said "mom I can't get it in his veins" I wasn't upset at the atrocious lack of compassion the vet had. I was incredibly understanding because I knew they were busy and as someone who has worked in this field before, I had been there. I even happily recommended them on a Facebook group the next day. What I will not stand for is being lied to and misled. I told every employee I encountered that we weren't sure which cremation option we would choose because it would depend on the cost. I also reiterated MULTIPLE times that I wanted a clay paw print regardless of which cremation option we chose. The receptionist handed me the cremation form and already had the "private cremation" box checked. I told her I was going to check both boxes since we weren't sure and she instructed me not to do that because the cremation company would call me first to confirm everything. I also asked again about the paw print because I didn't see anything on the form about that and she told me it was included. Multiple people told me it was included. The next day I get a call from the cremation company letting me know my dog had been cremated (privately) and asking for payment of $275!!! And they didn't do a paw print because the office didn't tell them to!!!! I told him what the office told me and he said they should not have told me that because that is not how they operate. I used to work for an animal hospital and am very familiar with the cremation company they used and can confirm this is not how they operate. I was told by one of the techs that they use safe haven for their cremations. I had never heard of them so I took her word that they would call me first. Had I been given any correct information during this visit I would have known they were wrong. It is mind blowing that an entire office can be so incompetent and unapologetic. When I spoke with Sylvia about this, she kept interrupting me and I had to tell her to let me finish my sentence before speaking. She had the nerve to say "I did everything I could medically for your dog, you should have confirmed everything after your appointment before you left" Why would I assume that they didn't know how to do their jobs? I was told by 3 different people a paw print was included. I was told by 3 different people they would call me before cremating my dog. I am disgusted that this happened and now I'm stuck with a $275 bill that I can't afford and no paw print which is all i really wanted!!! Her response? "I will call faithful companion and ask them if you can make payments. But it will probably be a week before I can call them. I'm too busy" I regret taking my dog here and now I'm not even sure if he was as sick as she made him out to be. I will spread this around every possible outlet to make sure people stay away from this horrid place. read more

This is the worst vet clinic in York. I witnessed a very dear old friend take her cat there and Dr Sylvia could not figure out what was wrong with her. She had bloodwork done and the vet said she would call her with the results. We never received a call and when we called to get the results, they told us we had to make an appointment to come in to get the results and pay another office visit. this was so ridiculous because she already paid for the bloodwork and then had to go back and pay another office visit just to get the results of the bloodwork. After several visits to the vets office because the cat was getting sicker and sicker, they recommended an ultrasound and by that time she could not afford it because she had already spent hundreds of dollars. In the end, she finally had to have her cat euthanized because she was not eating and we suspected she had some type of cancer or intestinal lymphoma. The euthanasia process was the worst experience I have ever witnessed. The doctor gave the cat a shot that was supposed to sedate her like she was going to surgery, but it never did and the cat felt everything and cried because they had trouble finding a vein to euthanize her. Dr. Sylvia did not have any compassion what so ever and did not tell the owner who was 91 years old she was sorry. It was just awful. Please don't take your animal there if you care for them. there are other Veterinary Clinica in York that you can go to. read more

This place is horrible!! Took my pup in for a med checkup and his yearly, appointment was scheduled for 10:00 am but here we are an hour later, still waiting to be seen. It took 15 mins on top of that to get checked in. It's been this way the last couple times we've been here. The last time they said they were short handed and it took 4hrs to do an annual check up, and it seems to be the same thing all over again!! It's probably a good thing my work is lenient with me on this. It looks like I may have to call in to take the whole day off, due to the vet's poor time management and overbookin. After getting into a room to be seen, another 30mins of waitin. How does anyone who calls themselves a veterinarian say that they can get a true analysis of any issues a pet may be having when there's such a long wait time and the dog is anxious already and it only increases the anxiety the longer the wait?? Anxiety can be bad for an epileptic pup, as I have an epileptic pup, and it has induce seizures in the past. This is the Only reason I waited it out, because my fur baby needed his seizure medications refilled!!! And don't even get me started on their lack of response or willingness to expedite a prescription, if refills are needed before the next check up!!! And the sad part is, they get called in at least a week ahead of time!! This is borderline abuse, in my opinion. This will be the very last time that I use this place for vet services. I wouldn't recommend this vet to Anyone!!! read more

Very happy with both the veterinary and boarding services here. The vet we saw is knowledgeable, caring, and takes time to explain what she's doing, why she's doing it, and what our options are. This is the first vet visit in years where I haven't felt "guilted" into unnecessary tests and purchases. The staff is friendly and responsive. My first experience with White Rose was right after we moved here and before I had established our fur babies with their own doctor. After a bad boarding experience at another facility, my dogs were going nuts with fleas. Pet store treatments weren't working. It was a Saturday, and I called at least six vets looking for help. The few who did respond offered me appointments several days out. White Rose was different. Less than 10 minutes after I left a message, the vet's assistant called back. We talked for a good 25 minutes. She passed along the vet's recommendations: bathe them in Dawn and get Seresto collars. They didn't push for an appointment, they didn't suggest I come to their offices to buy supplies; they simply helped me when I was in need. We also board our three dogs at Meows & Growls, and I really like having the vet right next-door. I recently learned that they are upgrading the boarding facility, so I look forward to that. They are also adding Fri hours, which will save me from dropping them off earlier than I need to. My three dogs - Lab mix, Aussie and Cavapoo (the Mod Squad) - typically board there for 3 to 5 days at a time. They always return healthy, calm and tired. You can tell that they've had a good time! There is something else I noticed, too. Whenever I've pick my dogs up at other kennels, they can't wait to pee and also lap up as much water as possible. It doesn't matter what time I pick them up, it's always the same. Interestingly, this has never happened following a pick up from Meows & Growls. That tells me that they are being well cared for, indeed. The staff typically gives me a pretty detailed report on their behavior. My one dog is a little skittish around other dogs, and they have been working to help socialize him. It's special touches like that which will bring me back to White Rose Veterinary and Meows and Growls Boarding again and again. read more

I had both my dogs go their for their yearly check up. The front desk was amazing. But we didn't even know the doctor came in as she never introduced herself, we thought she was just another tech. The most recent issue is 09/11/2019, I went to order our flea/tick medication for our two dogs from Chewy.com who has it cheaper and they refused to send a script unless I paid $5.00 for them to fax it back to them or we had to use their website to order the medication that cost more money. I personally think that shows that they do not care about the health of their animals but about money and kickbacks. I will not be returning to that vet. No my dogs didn't get their flea/tick meds, they faxed back not approved. read more

We brought my mastiff mix into the clinic to get her shots and fawn was amazing! She was super sweet and calm with Ella (our dog) and Ella did wonderfully. Ella is usually scared of people but this past Saturday she was fine with Fawn. I am so great full we have found a vet that is both close to us and easy to get an appointment with. Had an appointment for each one of my animals and an appointment for grooming at 9 o'clock. Waited until 1 o'clock to call to follow up and see if they were finished and was told they hadn't taken them back to be seen yet and was told "we're busy". Poor interactions and poor customer service. Don't bother taking your animals here if you care about their well-being. read more

Frick, Frack and Ralph (and their people) love White Rose Vet Clinic. It's easy to get an appointment, the wait is minimal, the staff cares for your pets like they were their own. The vets and vet techs are open to questions give 'usable' options - nothing far out and expensive. The clinic is clean, net and comfortable for pets and their people. Highly recommend! read more

This is, by far, one of the best vets I have ever been to. I took my cat in to get checked out and, unfortunately, I had to put her down. The staff was understanding, kind, and gave me as much time as I needed to get ready (as ready as one can be). After she died, they took her paw print in plaster and sent me home with it. Several days later, I received a card in the mail. It was signed by the entire staff and sent their condolences. It was such a simple, but heart-felt gesture. It's the little things that add up to the most and I greatly appreciate the empathy. read more

Found dog on road with broke leg(obvious) took to White Rose for help.....They said that they are a business and could not help her. They said we couldn't leave her and that we should take her to animal control......That is sad, in my opinion, when vet is only in it for the money. That poor dog....Animal control said they could only give her pain meds for 5 days and then decide what to do with her....I hope someone saves her ;-/ read more

Would not take my pets anywhere else! They are the best. Treat my dogs like they are their own. I have had mine in boarding there and have had no problems. Mine go in happy and come out happy. Dr. Sylvia and Dr. Sarah are the best! I Had to have Honeybear put down recently and Dr. Sarah handled it and us so well. Courtney cried when I came into the office that morning as she knew why I was there. The best way to say it is they believe in what they do and it's not automatic - a job - it's a calling! My dogs have been going here since I got them.My daughter accidentally shut my dogs paw in the door and he wouldn't eat or drink being as I have always paid my bill and spent over a thousand dollars here. I expect they could see my dog until I could pay them on Friday however they told me if I couldn't pay them that day that they weren't seeing my dog which I thought was awful when I spoke to a woman named Kathy she was rude tried telling me that my dogs weren't vaccinated through them with is wrong because I have the card they sent me for proof if I would have known how little they do care about your animal I would never have gone here from the start please go elsewhere!!! read more

They have been amazing to work with. I know they work with the shelters in area providing spay/neuter services. The entire staff have been amazing for the 2 years I have been going there. And I cannot see me ever going anywhere else. Even though the drive is 45 minutes out from me. My sister recommended them to me, she also takes her pets there. I think between us we 15 or 16 animals, and we trust White Rose with the care, safety and health of our pets. read more
